United States | 14 April 2020I wouldn’t recommend it to pro drone pilots. The pay is a joke and should at least specifically factor in buying insurance. Require it. The pay is bad enough, but making us pay for the insurance you guys ought to be paying for? No way. The catch-22 with DroneBase is that you pay at an amateur level. We can have arguments all day long about how you guys do the work, you get the clients, all of that. I get it. I appreciate your end of the work, and the simplicity on my end of not talking to clients. But the pay still sucks for any serious drone pilot, even so. DroneBase is really only good for people who are just starting out or only want to casually make a few bucks on the side. Either way, are those really the two groups you guys want to hire, when you run hundreds of flights over American citizens? I think that’s a bad strategy because it’s not safe in the long-run. If you guys cater to hiring serious pilots, everyone would be safer. The public would be safer. Be more picky. Hire better pilots, require insurance and pay better. Because if you guys don’t change things, it’s only a matter of time before a tragedy happens — All because DroneBase was simply too stingy to work with true professionals. Do better now, while you still have a chance to save lives and stay in business.

United States | 12 April 2020Communication is an area that really needs work. The staff seems almost bot like in there responses and never actually address a problem. I love Dronebase and appreciate the work they provide but other networks really excel in their communications compared to dronebase.

It would be great to reach out to support during the submission or capture process to get more "live" feedback. That's one way of enhancing a great platform.

United States | 24 March 2020DroneBase has allowed me to do what I love - fly - and get paid to do so. The jobs are typically less than 30 minutes to complete, and they work with you on scheduling issues if the flight needs to be rescheduled. I do recommend DroneBase and happy to be a part.

United States | 24 March 2020I’ve been working with DroneBase for 3 years now. It’s a great side job for me to have fun doing something I love, but at the same time, develop skills that benefit me. Over the years, the client missions have gotten more lucrative and cost effective as a contractor and the DroneBase customer service team is always on their game. So far year to date with the new mission types, I’ve already surpassed what I’ve made each of my previous years. It has pushed me to outfit my vehicle for drone work and I’ve had a blast organizing, planning and flying each mission. I truly appreciate the opportunity to work with them and for it to supplement my main source of income and for their flexibility in that. The weather is not always great in the Pacific Northwest, and the DB team is always understanding. Looking forward to a very flight heavy and productive year this year (if the coronavirus will let me)!

United States | 22 March 2020Cheap, annoying, and painful to work for. If I could afford to turn down any clients, this would be the first. I have almost walked away several times, and now that each job pays less and less, it will happen soon. They say up to 50% cloudy, but if the sky is hazy they will require reshoots. They want you to schedule the shoot within 3 days, but they get annoyed if you have clouds for a week, and have to reschedule, which sometimes you can and can't do on their system. Too many drone pilots have allowed services like these to take advantage of people who need work. They should have worked more at building trust and good relationships with their pilots.

United States | 19 March 2020I like working with DroneBase very much! There are a few things that need work in my view. First the “Distance from home” mileage is always off and not by just a little bit. When they say 40 it’s really 60 driving miles using the shortest distance. Second is payouts need to be more as I’ve said previously. If I’m putting my self and my equipment out there to do a job it needs to cover the basics like gas, insurance and risk. Payouts have decreased over the years and my costs have gone up. It’s especially difficult to take some jobs that are more than 30 minutes from home when the payout barely covers expenses.
