United Kingdom | 25 November 2024Really great experience with the project solar group. Kept me informed all the way through the project, by phone calls SMS messages, and emails. Really great after sales,

United Kingdom | 25 November 2024Perhaps we just got unlucky with our install but everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Our initial consultation was great, and we were really excited to have the panels installed. We were quoted for six panels and a battery. On the day of the install, the installers told us there wasn't enough room for six panels, and we were asked to make a decision on whether we still wanted to proceed with five panels. An amended document was emailed over to us with new figures on what we would generate, which was fairly difficult for us to understand, and without someone there with us in the room explaining the numbers to us, it was hard for us to make sense of what this reduction in panels meant for the viability of the panels. Whoever I spoke to on the phone at Project Solar wasn't particularly helpful and didn't really offer any advice. We felt under a lot of pressure to make a decision quickly, as the installers were waiting in their van for us to decide. We decided to go ahead with the five panels but the install was unable to be completed because scaffolding had only been arranged for the back of the property, and the installers also needed access to the front. We had to wait for more scaffolding to be erected, then the installers came back and finished the job. Since the install we've had leaks and rainwater getting into our house as a result of damaged roof tiles from the install. Project Solar did move swiftly the first time we reported a leak, which was appreciated, and we now have a second leak that we are awaiting action on, however it is hard not to feel a little bit of regret at embarking on this process, when there is water streaming through the ceiling onto our bed, whilst we are trying to sleep. This whole process has been going on for months now, is still ongoing, has mostly left me worried that our roof has been damaged in multiple places, and has left us with work to do inside the house to repair the water damage. There was a lot of talk from our salesperson about leaving a five star review once the install was complete, they asked if they could come back once it was done. I haven't heard from them since I told them the install wasn't going well, I assume they have abandoned any hope of that five star review. I understand that problems happen, and I am happy with how quickly Project Solar have moved thus far to rectify all the mistakes. But it does feel like a lot of these issues could have been avoided, with a more thorough survey of the house and the logistics of the work required, more care by the installers to identify and fix any damage to the roof, and more aftercare from our initial point of contact. We are happy to have the panels, it something we have wanted for a long time and was a huge investment for us, but this process has been arduous, frustrating, and is still ongoing. I think 3/5 is a fair assessment of our experience with Project Solar, and I hope they would agree. This was saved from being a 1 star by the speed in which they moved to fix all the problems, and by most staff who we interacted with, who were all very friendly and helpful.

United Kingdom | 23 November 2024We had someone come out from PSUK to give us a quotation. They asked us for an energy bill which we showed them we are currently paying £60 per month and we are in credit at that. We were told that "We are paying around £75 per month and the credit shows that we are overpaying for electricity". They explained that we could be paying nothing for our electricity bill if we have solar installed and instead could be earning £70 per month selling excess energy back to the grid via octopus energy (sounds good right? Free energy and getting paid for it, its a "no brainer"). However, the cost of the solar pannels are not free, the cost of the goods "8x Evo Max Super Series 480W solar panels" (which a quick google search tells you are worth around £350 each, 8 x £350 = £2800) and "Fox Energy Cube 8.6kWh [FLUX & FORCE CHARGE]" (again, if you look on Google they're going for between £2000 - £3000 equalling around £5800 worth of goods) totals to £13,500 and the cost of labour is £1500, £15,000 in total. They recommend you take out finance across 240 months with Tandem bank who are charging nearly 12% APR which equates to £157.39 per month. Let's do a little maths here, my current energy bill is £60 per month. With solar installed i would be paying nothing for my electricity, be recieving £70 per month and paying £157.39 per month in finance. This means I would go from paying £60 per month for my electricity to now paying £87.39 for the finance of the solar pannels. Not quite the "amazing, no brainer" deal that the sales person was wanting me to believe. Yes I would be saving on my electricity bill, but I would also be £27.39 out of pocket each month paying for the finance. Over the term of the finance, I'd be paying a total of £37,773.75 for goods worth around £6000, a massive 516% overpayment. Moving onto how solar pannels effect your house value. We asked how solar on finance would effect our house value and if there would be any complications when it came to selling our house. We were told "the finance would have to be paid off but solar will add around 14% to your house value so they would effectively pay themselves off". However, in their contract it states "solar pannels COULD increase your house value UP TO £10,000". There is a massive difference between it will increase your house value by 14% and it could increase your house value by up to £10,000 (which in this case, the £10,000 it could potentially return is nowhere near 14% of the house value). Next, over to the "lifetime warranty" that they offer. When you look into what it covers.. or more interestingly what is doesn't cover: "The MODULES must be cleaned annually by a professional solar cleaning company using approved methods defined in Perlight’s maintenance instructions. The “Limited Lifetime Product Warranties” and the ‘Limited Lifetime Peak Power Warranties’ do not apply to any MODULES which have been subjected to: Misuse, abuse, neglect or accident; Alteration, improper installation or application; Non-observance of Perlight Solar’s installation and maintenance instructions; Repair or modifications by someone other than an approved service technician of Perlight Solar; Power failure surges, lightning, flood, fire, accidental breakage or other events outside Perlight Solar’s control." So what exactly does the warranty cover? Overall, the sales pitch was misleading and the financial implications of the solar panel system were not clearly explained. I would strongly advise anyone considering a similar offer to do their own research and seek independent advice. Edit* once this company has your phone number they will ring you 3-4 times per day, every day.

United Kingdom | 20 November 2024Every part of the process from initial visit to completion of work was seamless. Lots of contact via phone, email and text re each stage. Installation was impressively quick and efficient. Everyone was polite and explained what they were doing. Including the scaffolding company who erected scaffold a couple of days prior to installation. They left everything tidy and explained the next steps required before system is up and running to capacity. The customer liason staff have been prompt in contacting me and indicating how long and what is required before the system is fully functioning. Very happy so far.

United Kingdom | 19 November 2024Booked a quote and Adam turned up. Went straight into the sales pitch, which I am finding out, all these solar panel companies do. Asked if I had any other quotes, then rubbished those quotes. Gave PSUK the BIG sales pitch. Informed me that if I accepted the quote within the week, I could have the battery half price, a deduction of £3500. I looked it up, the battery retail is £3450, so the mark up, buying the battery trade is more than double. The quote from PSUK was over twice any other quote I have had. I fail to understand, why they charge so much, especially when you look up the retail prices of the equipment they are supplying. Always look around, and get 3 or more quotes. I also asked someone I know who has had them fit a system, told very bluntly, they would not recommend as had issues during the instalment. Needless to say, I WILL NOT BE USING THEIR SERVICES

United Kingdom | 19 November 2024Very impressed with Project Solar. Every aspect was very professional. The installation team arrived on time and kept us informed every step of the way. I was pleased with how quickly the installation took and how good it looks. In total 5 hrs from start to finish. The whole team from Mark the salesman to the office staff have been in touch all the way through and are still there if we need help. They help to connect to an app and you can see how the panels work in real time. I would definately recommend.

United Kingdom | 15 November 2024What an experience... When introduced to Project Solar, we initially met Larry Reynolds, our Project Solar rep who was and has been nothing short of fantastic. Such a likable, genuine and charasmatic guy that has a great knowledge of the solar industry. He took us through the initial plan, installation, benefits to the climate, costings, savings and outlined the benefits of choosing Project Solar who are the main installers of solar systems in the UK. Their warranties speak for themselves... Larry also provided excellent aftercare in helping us reduce our previous energy companies early exit fees when switching to Octopus. Larry opened communication lines with Richard who was very supportive with the costings of the system. We were later introduced to Oliver O'Neil who was excellent in breaking the costings and finance down to make the system very affordable (it practically pays for its self-seriously!). The installation was plain sailing... Scaffolding up 1 day, the system fitted the next day. The system and app was clearly explained on completion. The scaffolders and fitters where excellent! The roofer was even kind enough to hang our Christmas lights! Having priced systems with a variety of companies and speaking to a variety of other company agents prior to choosing Project Solar, I can say Project Solar may not be the cheapest on the market, but it is certainly the best in our experience regarding, knowledge, helpfulness, system spec (all companies we checked installed inferior systems) and Project Solar are the best available regarding warranties. I would highly recommend Project Solar to my family and friends. A* Thank you to Project Solar and all the team that have been involved in our installation. Mr&Mrs Rigby St Helens Merseyside

United Kingdom | 14 November 2024I have no hesitation in recommending Project Solar, from the first assessment meeting with the surveyor Jobin, through to the installation and then to settling the final payment the whole process was excellent, timely and hassle free, from the start to installation and removal of the scaffolding took 14 days. It far exceeded my expectation. The Surveyor maintained a vested interest throughout the whole process, I also received regular updates from the office, the installation team and the scaffolding team. Now I can not wait to realise the benefits.
