United Kingdom | 24 August 2023Installing LED strip lights isn't always straightforward, but this company and web site makes it a stroll in the park, with excellent back-up on the phone. Whilst I can't currently vouch for the reliability of the products (it's too early) the guarantee is much better than other suppliers, the quality excellent, and only surpassed by the customer service provided by Oliver. If you're considering the plug and play Philips Hue style, think again, and give these guys a look. More flexibility, more bespoke systems available, decent prices and straightforward to make your own bespoke system. Thank you.

United Kingdom | 23 May 2023Waited a week for 6 bulbs. Packaging was very poor and when I opened them they where the wrong ones. We then went all around the houses with they wanted photos of them and no end of hoops to jump through, only to be told we had to pay for another lot and then get a refund for the incorrect ones when they arrive back. Have now asked to speak to a manager, let’s see if they phone back.

Phoned downlights direct who sent a replacement within a couple of days, just simple straightforward great customer service. Just a shame more companies aren't this good.

Our house is now first floor refurbished and we start on the next floor down, we use this Company because the Customer Care is excellent and the advice they give you so helpful, the products are fair priced and quality and my order was so well packaged with recycling well thought about. I would not shop anywhere else for lighting. I have to mention Oliver, in Customer Care, he is such a wonderful chap and sorted my delivery out in an instant. United Kingdom | 08 January 2023I chose Downlights Direct because I had previously used them and been happy with the bulbs I received. Delivery is speedy but not the cheapest. It's better to buy more than one or two bulbs at a time as the flat delivery fee of around £5 makes this more economical. The bulb quality I use (Aurora Ice) are excellent and typically last for a few years. I have some that are still going strong after 8 years!

From quick responses, to quick order delivery I can’t praise them highly enough. Very knowledgable and patient staff and the standard of products they delivered is top drawer. Had one issue with the light, and when I messaged them to sort it out they did without any quibble or argument. I can’t praise them highly enough and will defo be using them again for my lighting projects

Bought lights and sockets and switches for a kitchen extension and dining renovation, and downlight directs had everything I needed. I was sent the wrong item for one of the dimmer switches, which they kindly replaced for free and told me to keep the existing one. Really happy with the items I bought and will use again for future purchases.

Couldn't find the exact replacement. Received email from Downlights Direct next morning offering help, so explained situation: they said they had a suitable replacement on their shelves and they would send it free of charge. All now working fine.

I contacted their support via the website and a new lamp was dispatched without any hesitation! Now this is customer service! Thank you for handling my call, Oliver! : )

United Kingdom | 08 February 2022I used DownLights Direct to order some LED lighting strips, drivers and connectors for a new kitchen install after having issues with products from another company. I thought the Down Light Direct products looked really good quality from the description and pictures on the website and found the supporting information, such as which drivers can power the various LED type/lengths etc, incredibly useful. All items came really quick as they were all in stock at the time of ordering. I can see other reviews where people are waiting for stock but I feel the website is quite clear on wait times. I installed all the items as planned and they all work incredibly well. Overall I was pleased. A few months later I decided to slightly extend my run of LED's but was struggling to figure out how to do it. I contacted customer support and found Lewis very informative and accommodating and he (unforntately for him!) sent me loads of emails back on forth explaining things to me which was hugely appreciated. Ended up with a slightly custom order which Lewis pulled together for me, I'm not sure I'd have figured it all out on my own being a DIY'er and not a pro. I saw other reviews saying slow replies to customer service, I was generally getting replies in 12 hours which seems fair and suited me. As mentioned, the help I did get from customer service was excellent. I appreciated the service so much I started hunting around for other areas I can install LED's :D I don't generally leave reviews but positive experience with DLD left me wanting to give something back for their efforts. Overall I would recommend and definitely use again, thanks!

I ordered two parts which appeared to be in stock but turned out not to be after I chased up a week later. The chap who took the call was very helpful and sorted out an alternative, but slightly miffed that they weren't more proactive in notifying me as we're working to a deadline and lost 5 days.

Initially out of an order of 3 stock items one was out of stock, the main part of the order (10 units). I wait 2 weeks for those to come back in stock meanwhile the other items go out of stock with a delay of a further 2 months. Downlights Direct refuse to part ship those items that are now in stock! This is a vicious circle. Meanwhile I'm left high and dry mid way through a job.
