United Kingdom | 08 March 2021I've used them 3 times and have usually found their work is to a high standard. It is pricey but you are paying for the convenience of them collecting and dropping off. It's a great idea and business model BUT it doesn't work so well if things aren't right. As other people have said here, it is virtually impossible to phone them- why? either have a phone number or don't. Second, they fitted a new inner tube on my bike and i was happy with the work they'd done. When it came to topping up the tyre pressure i couldn't get any air into the valve (but it would come out). I tried calling (waste of time) and e-mailed. Can you send photos of the valve? they said- i did "that's a normal Shrader valve" they replied, and suggested i take it to a bike shop! No offer to collect it and have a look at it, look at it when they were next in the area etc- just "tough, take it to a bike shop" - well, if that had been a possibility i wouldn't have used their company in the first place. I've been given the brush off which means i won't be using them again.

United Kingdom | 06 March 2021I never write on these review sites but at this point not really sure what to do. Recently paid for delux service. They picked up and bike and returned it. When the courier arrived with the bike they informed me the service had been cancelled and couldn’t tell me why. Havebike charged me the full £89 regardless. To make matters worse the seat of the bike had been removed so i can’t use it. I rang them on the same day and managed to get through to someone who wasn’t sure what had happened but promised to contact me by the end of the day (or at least by Monday 1st March) to sort it out. I have heard nothing (now Saturday 6th March) I since have tried calling 4 times over the week leaving a message each time and have written 3 emails asking for some kind of communication. I still haven’t heard anything back. I am now worried havebike might be a scam. Cycling has been my lifeline during the lockdown and I was really looking forward to cycling this spring. Really, really disappointing service *Update - director of the company called me on 6th March and apologised. Bike was quickly collected again, serviced and returned at a time of my choosing. A 25% discount was given. Not a great experience but I appreciate the director got involved and sorted it out. Bike is now running like new!

United Kingdom | 06 March 2021The service sounds good on paper but unfortenately the execution is poor. Unresponsive customer service. After my bike was serviced by the havebike team, it was returned a day later than originally envisaged (which was a bit disappointing but at least they kept me updated). The back tyre which was replaced was the wrong size meaning I have different sized tyres on each wheel! Makes me question the quality of service they provide. I have tried to contact the havebike team three days in a row to arrange the change of the tyre and all of my calls/voicemails/emails have been ignored. now have to cancel my weekend ride because of this... Really disappointing.

Bike was returned a day later than originally expected but this was communicated in good time and the whole process / cost is very transparent. Will definitely be using them again!

United Kingdom | 16 February 2021I had my bike serviced through them and the whole process was very efficient and convenient. The bike came back as new riding beautifully. The parts required (a new chain and front brake pads) were priced reasonably. The drivers ring ahead to warn when they are arriving. All in all a great way of getting you bike serviced or repaired.

United Kingdom | 15 February 2021My original review is still located below, however I felt it was worth updating to reflect the great customer service I've had to rectify the issue. I was contacted and it was arranged for my bike to be collected, serviced and returned again. The issue I had reported that was missed out on was looked at specifically and action taken to fix. I guess you can't avoid issues or unhappy customers 100% of the time, but havebike have stepped up to sort out my issue and I would happily go back to them again now for future work. ____________________________________ I booked my bike in for a basic service and confirmed any additional costs as described, which was fine. When I got the bike back I noticed a mechanical clunky sound so called them to ask about this. The bike was collected again to be checked and I was told it was fine, nothing further was needed which I was a bit sceptical of. Once I start to use the bike more regularly again the sound got that bad I had to bring it to another cycle shop and was told other parts needed to be replaced. Very poor that this wasn't picked up on after being looked at twice, as I would have happily paid extra at the time for replacement and now looking at shelling out for labour costs again. I got in touch to enquire about this a couple of weeks ago, was told I'd be contacted and still haven't heard back. Seems that they are more concerned about getting through as many bikes as they can during the current pandemic and not providing the service levels required. Will not be using again or recommending to anyone.

A true test of a company is how they respond when things go wrong and Havebike has earned my loyalty for the future which is all down to Abbie, who was able to have my bike picked up, fixed, and returned in 48hours. That is unheard off in London right now.

I’ve had deluxe services done twice with havebike and they have always took their time to make sure the bike has been serviced properly. Any issues are coordinated quickly and very professionally. Theo the driver who collects the bike is efficient and friendly and makes sure there is no stress when sending off/receiving you’re bike back

The reason for the initial 1 star is below but i think its important that potential customers see the outcome. This change of heart was courtesy of Nick, the Director. After posting my original review, I got a phone call from Nick who took the time to explain the company safety procedure around bike repairs and their legal and safety obligations. More importantly he explained exactly what the repairs involved and the potential consequences of not having them done. It wasn't my intention to not have the repairs done, I just wanted to be satisfied that the repairs were needed and I was making an informed decision. I got it! What really impressed me was the speed of their response and the fact that a Director genuinely wanted to resolve the situation satisfactorily. Thank you Nick. We have agreed the repair and a discounted future service. Original review: Sent my bike off for the 'fix me fit me' service as my bike chain and another plastic part (don't know the name of it) had broken. Got a phone call about a week later, detailing additional work. I said no, just fix the chain and the plastic bit and send the bike back. 30 minutes of being lectured to about the level of their training, the gazillion point check and them not being sure I wouldn't ride the bike without fixing the other things, I was not able to persuade them to fix the things i asked them to and give my bike back. They will do all or nothing at an additional cost of £96. The bike is less than 6 months old with a 3 year warranty and I don't know if the additional 'faults' could be covered by the warranty. But, fundamentally, repair what I have asked you to and give me back my bike. Its not up to Havebike to decide what is and isn't dangerous for me. If my car failed an MOT, no garage would hold on to my car until I paid them to fix everything which is wrong with it, and that is a legal requirement. Covid must have created a boom for you, stop trying to con people out of additional money. UPDATE post Havebike reply: I have no problem paying for additional money for the chain and plastic piece repair. I expected that and never expected the £29.99 to be returned. I object to you insisting that i must have the additional work done when I could potentially get that done under warranty. ITS NOT YOUR CHOICE. The repair I did not want done is not connected in any way to the other things, therefore I could choose to do them or I could leave my bike in a shed and never ride it again ITS UP TO ME. Stop writing nonsense about integrity and keeping road users safe. I even offered to sign a disclaimer. Bring my bike back. I have a 6 month old bike with a 3 year warranty, which has been used to shop locally, probably once every two weeks, and cycle round the local park, and not on a daily basis. What worn, unsafe, unroadworthy parts? Bring my bike back. I have never been in a situation where I ask a contractor to do work and they insist on additional work and refuse to take my instructions. My bike is not unsafe, but i wouldn't put it past you to loosen the wheel and misalign the brakes to prove your point. I have never heard such rubbish. Why would i waste more of my time writing a complaint so someone else in your firm can repeat the same nonsense.

United Kingdom | 08 January 2021This service does what it "Says on the tin," easy to book on line. Collected as promised. Called by Adam to inform me of the extra repairs needed to my bikes. Repairs completed and bike returned on time as promised. The driver Theologos was helpful, cheerful and the sort of guy you felt you could trust with your precious bikes. Excellent e mail communication and the costs clearly invoiced and not unreasonable. I have already been out on one of the bikes and it is running so much better. Great service that I will use again.
