Guernsey | 11 February 2019Summary: additional charges, products out of stock, more additional charges, poor customer service. Order was a complete disaster. I placed a large order for weights which was around £1,000. Frustratingly there was no information about delivery costs at the time the transaction was completed. I was then contacted to be told that delivery was an additional £95. This is extortionate and other suppliers deliver for free (I had only ordered from this supplier because of one specific item). I appreciate the items are heavy but that's the game they are in and high delivery costs should be made clear or factored into the cost of the products. I accepted this additional charge as I had spent a long time researching items and did not want to have to re-start the process. It transpired nearly a week after placing the order (and taking payment) that one of the products I had ordered was not actually available from the manufacturer. I was offered a replacement item which I wasn't overly happy with but accepted again so I wouldn't have to restart the process. However, I was then contacted to be told that I would have to pay an additional £35 delivery charge because this was to be processed as a separate item. Considering this was the vendor's error and nothing to do with me I refused to pay yet another delivery charge. I was told there was nothing they could do because it was a separate order on their system which was obviously not my fault! In the same phone call I asked whether they had shipped the other items and was told they had not despite me having paid for the delivery and being told that the items would be delivered in 3-5 days. I cancelled the entire order and the person I was dealing with said that cancelling was the easiest thing to do. It might have been easier for a company that had no interest in fulfilling an order - maybe the value of my order was insignificant to them - but it certainly has not been the easiest thing for me and has wasted hours of my time.
