And don't want to. We became DogVacay hosts two years ago when we had trouble finding someone/place to leave our pup while we went on our honeymoon. The kennel left the half grown pup alone in her crate for 12 hrs - too long - each night for 3 nights! We have soooo enjoyed being hosts, and have used it for our own pups. The dogs become one of the family, with love, hugs, play and couch time, just like your puppy. Our pups love having "friends" come play with them, or going over to our preferred host for their own vacay. AND it's a great way to make extra money. A dream job for me!!!

I used to cancel trips when I couldn't find anyone to take care of my dog, Lexi. Usually, my sister would keep her for me but, one time, she had plans during that time. I searched and searched for someone but, most of the places I found would have your pet in a small cage or kennel with no one around for 23 hours a day. That was not acceptable to me and, I almost cancelled my plans again. Then I found DogVacay. I had no idea there was a network of real people who would take your dog into their homes and treat them like a guest. This is the greatest thing! I've used a "host" named Darin five times now. He's great! He sends texts with pictures and an occasional video to let me know how Lexi is doing. I get something very important from DogVacay and, that's peace of mind. I honestly don't feel like I need to worry about Lexi while we're out of town. If you need to go out of town and, you can't take your dog, you've got to try it. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I have used boarding services in the past when my family and I went on vacation. They were expensive and impersonal. With DogVacay, we get to meet hosts, read reviews, and decide on what's best for our pet before we go. The price is often HALF of what a boarding service would charge. We are able to place our dog with boarders who have plenty of experience, spend time with our animal playing, cuddling, etc., and we get frequent updates, including pictures, of how our pet's stay is progressing.

Be honest with your story of who you are and what your dog is like, ask questions about the environment, sleeping arrangements and outdoor time. Ask questions! If the first one isn't a match then next one might be. Great people, love this service.

As a great Sharing Economy idea, Dogvacay is the perfect alternative to boarding your pet in a kennel. The company seems to do a good job vetting their hosts and the website and service are easy to use. It feels good to know that your pet is being looked after in a caring home environment rather than a cage while you are away.

She was great with the kids. Took them for walks and the played and rested and had an overall great time. We returned from our unexpected not so great trip to see that our kids had a great vacay and would be returning to see them in just a few short weeks for an even longer vacay so we can go have fun. My dog, a King Charles Cavalier has stayed overnight for about a week with the same sitter twice within the last 6 months. I have used other sitters in the past, not through DogVacay, and I can say that I am 100% happy with my choice. The sitter we used is a dog lover, and also follows the owners rules. I know my dog had a great time. Daily updates and photos!

I'm so happy to find a company & App that connects pet caretakers with people in their neighborhood. Much easier to use than Yelp and I love that DogVacay uses zip codes to connect local sitters. I rely on the reviews that they provide....almost like a "Yelp" for pets! I'll definitely use them again & refer all my friends to them. THANKS DogVacay!
