Czech Republic | 22 April 2024I placed an order understanding it would ship in 2 or 3 days. A week later it had not shipped. I cannot find a phone number for customer service. I sent emails to cancel the order as I had to buy elsewhere. I get canned email replies that my order has shipped or in process so it cannot be cancelled. Literally 3 replies. Exact wording in all 3. Same representative Holly on all 3. The app says unfulfilled paid. So I want it cancelled. This is a horrible experience.

Spain | 09 April 2024May 14th Update: So I have received a refund for the missing products after I contacted customer service with a new email. I have not yet received any update on refund for the customs duties I have paid out of pocket. Original Message: I ordered three vegan items. When the package arrived in Spain, I was told I needed to pay customs. The Customer Service team at British Essentials instructed me to pay the duty and that they would reimburse me, I have yet to be reimbursed a month later. When I finally did receive my order, 40GBP worth of the 50GBP order was missing with a handwritten note stating the customer will be reimbursed for missing items. The products were shipped 9 weeks ago and I have not received any refund for the missing items. I am highly disappointed and would not recommend using the service unless absolutely necessary. So far it would have been cheaper for me to fly to the UK to purchase these items.

Germany | 09 April 2024A really dire service- order was sent in 6 packages delivered over 10 days, one containing one can of soup. All cans were damaged due to weak or non-existent packaging. After two weeks I have had no answer to my request for a refund.

Spain | 05 April 2024Placed an order last 30th January, a total amount of 99,24€. The order was returned because it did not get cleared in the customs. Support assistant wrote 'To make things right, we will process a refund for your order promptly. You can expect to see the refunded amount reflected in your original payment method within 3 - 5 banking days'. It's been 25 days since then, and I have not received my refund. What's more, I have contacted twice regarding the refund, but it looks like they don't care. So, I guess I have kindly donated 99,24€ to this business. Enjoy it!

United Kingdom | 30 March 2024Hi, My complaint is basically the fact that it took such a long time to deliver, 28 January to 7 March. It was sent in six packages and I paid for the option of DHL because they use a local courier service that delivers to my address. However it was sent by Royal Mail which is cheaper than DHL. Also the site says that all costs are covered yet I had to pay for delivery by BGPOST. It was not delivered to my address but to the nearest Post Office to my address. Which meant a trip to the post office for all six packages. I did not get charged Customs cost. Michael Weavers

France | 28 March 2024I live in France. I ordered from this UK site for UK goods and paid with a UK debit card. I have been charged in eurors for these goods which means the transaction is subject to bank charges for a non UK amount. I have tried to clarify this with British Essentials customer services but keep getting an 'automated' response which does not address the problem. I would have cancelled the order if I had known about their inability to arrange payment in pounds sterling

Denmark | 27 March 2024We had a great experience easy shopping order sent off very quickly, we received half our our order very quickly but because we ordered what is basically an unknown medicin cream deep heat which is not known in denmark we had over a month delay because it all had to ve check that they can receive in this country, we didn't mind the wait and fully understood and knew it would pass , but it's definitely something to be aware of if your order ends up in a long delay with such items . But we will definitely be ordering again and know if we order such things again it's not B.E fault it's the country you live in that make the order delayed so be patient 🙂. But we very much so like B.E 😀😀😀😀
