Canada | 03 June 2024DO NOT USE - they are a scam store with terrible service. My experience: Accidentally placed an order for what I thought was a different product while on painkillers after surgery (yes - I know that's dumb, but I own that part, haha). Sent an e-mail within 10 minutes of the confirmation and the light bulb going off asking them to cancel and refund. Sent another one about an hour later as I had not heard anything. Next day I got an e-mail saying the shipping label had been prepared and was waiting to be picked up by the courier and I e-mailed *again* reiterating my request and asking them not to pass the package off. Two days later I finally got a support e-mail that said: Thank you for reaching out, unfortunately we are unable to cancel this order as the order has been shipped. Unfortunately we would not have been able to refund these items since these products are final sale due to being sale items. I replied, advising that based on my multiple cancellation requests I would be sending the box back unopened and expected a refund and got a similar form letter, curt response. I replied again explaining it wasn't a return request, it was a cancellation request they ignored. To which they replied they couldn't cancel sales if it was a sale item with their policy which reads: "ORDER CANCELLATIONS This applies to non pre order items. If you are looking to cancel your PRE ORDER please visit the pre order page. For order cancellations please email [support] for a refund to be processed. Due to our fulfillment times if the item is processed before our support team is able to review your ticket we will not be able to process a cancellation for the order. Please allow 2-3 business days for a full refund to be processed." Which, first off doesn't mention sale items at all. More importantly, it leaves a pretty disgusting loophole where they can just ignore your cancellation request until it ships and then act like it was your problem (or just admitting that they have terrible service who doesn't check their support e-mail ever). Not once in this process did they even attempt to work with me on reaching a mutual solution. It is by far the worst customer experience I have had from any hobby store in over a decade. Use 401 Games, Wizard's Tower, Face to Face, or anyone but this garbage company. I should have known that anyone that resorts to pushing a bunch of ads was scummy, but again (and yes, this is my bad) I was on painkillers and thought "what's the worst that can happen" - turns out, the worst that can happen is that you have to deal with this joke of a business. Again - DO NOT USE HOBBIESVILLE.

Canada | 24 April 2024I bought a polar express train for my grandson. It arrived in a week which was great. Unfortunately the train didn't work. This caused alot of grief as my grandson was trying to set it up. I tried to get help from Lionel, they said to call hobbiesville, hobbiesville said to use the delivery insurance. The delivery insurance requires photos of a damaged product. This is not the case, the product is defective. I just want a refund.

Was told to record a whole video to support this claim even though pictures were sent. Then only to be told that the cards were lightly played and that a refund will be provided for the difference between near-mint and lightly played. When I asked whether or not I can get the difference between near mint and mildly played (being generous here), I was told that this cannot be done. The hassle and worry of receiving bad cards when it is labelled as near-mint put my completely off of this store. Will not purchase any singles from Hobbiesville going forward. Waste of time and energy to negotiate over the quality of cards received.

Canada | 28 December 2023I placed a preorder and then changed my mind the same day after speaking with other collectors. I emailed Hobbiesville to cancel my preorder and they emailed back saying no refunds and attaching their return policy. I opened the return policy and it says very clearly that they DO cancel preorders but there is a penalty. I am ok with a penalty as long as I get the rest of my money back. Hobbiesville has not responded to me or issued a refund minus the penalty. I am VERY uncomfortable with my dealings with them and would advise others to look elsewhere for their chosen hobby things.

Canada | 14 December 2023I’m a customer who shops at hobbiesville online and occasionally in store. I live in Ottawa so I always pickup online orders in store, I can’t make a comment on the shipping. But I can say that the store is always clean, busy and well stocked. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in the products they’re selling. I was missing a very small part of my order and visited the store while the manager was on site and I was very impressed with his customer service so much so that I thought he was the proud owner of the store! A great experience compared with other local shops, always a good variety of product on their shelves too!

United States | 02 December 2023I'd avoid placing large orders off hobbiesville for buyers in the US, or international even. Apparently this hasn't happened to anyone else yet for buyers in the US but my preorders were eligible for free shipping and hobbiesville went ahead and used UPS ground instead of USPS who charged me over $100 in broker fees. Emailed them to see if I could get help on clearing these charges days after they shipped since UPS wasn't being cooperative and they just blow me off telling me to contact canada post even though it never went through canada post. I can't even dispute these fees because they weren't part of the transaction what a joke. I'll buy off sunny instead from now on since it looks like hobbiesville is fine with violating their own shipping policies.

Canada | 15 October 2023Do not buy from them online. Credit only refund, no shipping refund and no communication when they misplace inventory and can not find your order. They will just refund what’s missing offer no solution/alternative options and still charge full shipping even tho big bulk of shipping due to missing inventory changed. They are meant to be local store. Support them if you are local but avoid if you are buying online.
