Not only did he answer our questions clearly, he went beyond the scope of tax filings and provided us tips and tricks to consider for our move, as well as other really helpful advise. He showed true empathy for the size of this life decision we are making. Trevor was authoritative and had personal experiences to share, as well as other clients in exactly the same situation we are in. Even more, he's super nice! We laughed and shared jokes. At the end of the call, he gave us his cell phone number in case we have any last-minute questions later on. We were hesitant to pay the $250 for a 30-minute call, but the value we got far exceeded our expectations. In short, we're really glad we hired Greenback.

I'm a current client of Greenback. The response times are quite poor and frustrating. There is no option to call them on the phone. You have to rely on the tax preparer to decide when to get back to you. Businesses like this need to budget in enough expense to handle a few phone calls. It seems they are just competing with other similar companies and don't calculate in any expense at all for customer service.

I have worked with Greenback for three years now. They have made this process easy and pain free. Living abroad has its challenges and taxes confuse even those living in country imagine the disconnect outside. I have worked with the Nijil the accountant for two years and he was great to work with. He is thorough, polite and understanding. He worked around my schedule being hours ahead of the US and responded quickly. If you are looking for a pain free process for taxes- I highly recommend this.

The accountant was good, the service was solid. I would use them again. The only thing was that, this year, I needed to know what I would owe for the year so that I could move money around, and my accountant waited for about six weeks before reviewing my initial forms. We missed the deadline to file, and she filed an extension (without telling me). Sure, we were able to wrap things up within about two weeks of missing the first deadline, but I would have preferred to have taken care of everything earlier. (And I'm glad she filed the extension, because it would have been worse for me if she hadn't. I just didn't know what was going on.)

Fast, efficient, and easy process. Personal attention from the accountant was prompt and thorough. I would highly recommend this service!

(1) Too many mistakes and errors in the tax preparation - I caught some of them during the preparation time but obviously I'm not an expert so some were present even at the filing time. I had to deal with multiple tax notices due to these mistakes. (2) Very slow response times (3) Communication only via email I paid $630 for both federal and state, and I still curse myself as to why I chose them as I'm getting all these tax notices everyday. Now I've to find another tax preparer and pay them the full amount to find and fix all the mistakes they did.

Greenback is easy to work with -they have great tools to get everything in one place and I enjoyed my experience with a relatively complicated tax need.

This company does not allow phone calls to clarify anything. We were referred to them via Stripe Atlas, and had them file corporate taxes for us. We realized afterwards there there needed to be an amendment, and their response time to answer has been 1-month, and now it's now going onto 7 weeks in total to get a third response. Highly recommend to weigh other options since they refuse to speak on the phone (literally for even a few minutes), and to we realize you get what you pay for. We are very disappointed w/ the service so far, and hope things get better. Will update this review as things progress.

I used them twice. Haven't been back. The first year was my first year living abroad so my taxes were a bit more complicated than usual. Although I found them to be very expensive I was afraid of doing things wrong so I went with them. I found communication slow and overall they didn't really do anything that gave me confidence. Although the second year my taxes weren't as complicated, I decided for time-sake just to use them again. This was nearly 10 years ago so there really weren't many alternatives. The woman wrote me with a list of documents which I sent to her. Then she sent me back my tax return. At the time I was self-employed. I was confused when she sent me back my return because she had never even asked for my deductions. I had assumed she was going to start with the first docs and then ask for the rest later. In the end I had to ask her - "Hey, what about my deductions?" Oh yeah. I sent them to her and she fixed my return, which of course resulted in hundreds of dollars I could have lost had I simply trusted her. I of course wrote to Greenback as well. All they did was say sorry and offer me a 20-dollar discount. I found this completely unprofessional when I'm paying hundreds of dollars for a personal tax return. That was the last time I used Greenback. For a few years, I was doing my taxes myself until I found MyExpatTaxes. So simple, so fast, so affordable! I'll never go back.

I am probably one of Greenback's worst customers. I have taken a looooong time to get my tax documents and accounts in order, but Trevor has been very patient with me during the whole process. Thank you!

I contacted Greenback in April 2021 to get my tax documents sorted for the following tax season. Since I had just launch my S-corp, I wanted to be sure to have everything prepared in time. It is July 2022 and my taxes still aren't completed for 2021, though I've given complete access and information to my rep since April 2021. I had to follow up and ask if everything was submitted on time, to which his response was "the deadline has already passed, do you want an extension?" I assumed he would file by the deadline since that was why I hired him, so I'm baffled by this response. I requested multiple times to be assigned to a new rep and the support team simply CC'd the original rep and said he'd be with me shortly. The rep is asking me the same questions, over and over again, that I've answered for the last 16 months. I'm finally hiring another company to do this, which I should have done ages ago but wanted to give Greenback the benefit of the doubt. Everyone seems to have positive reviews, so maybe you have great reps. I tried to get a great rep but was blocked every time I asked for one. So I 100% do not recommend this company.
