United Kingdom | 04 March 2020After a 30 minute detour from my actual destination to collect some US dollars, I was displeased to be told that the branch were not honouring online voucher rates and only providing an in-store rate - which was significantly lower. The staff were not particularly friendly when I arrived, as they appeared to be counting large amounts of money and in no hurry to serve me (midday on a Saturday). I got the impression that they were annoyed at being interrupted from their task, even though I waited patiently for them to finish what they were doing and let me know when they were ready. I was particularly annoyed as when I had booked the voucher online, i had noticed a note that said that (for that day only) they were not able to accept any credit card payments. As it later said that they accepted debit cards only - I telephoned the branch to say that I had ordered a voucher, planned to come today, asked them clarify what was meant re: cards and then check there was a cash machine nearby. At no point did the member of staff volunteer that there was more amiss that day- such as not honouring vouchers. When I pointed this out in the store, I was told that I didn't ask that specific question on the phone! How is a customer supposed to guess what might be happening on a particular day and then ask based on zero knowledge of the businesses policies? She also mentioned that this happens only one day annually!!! Perhaps it was just an unlucky day to collect, but the overall interaction means that I won't ever get return to this branch and am very unlikely to visit any other ICE location.

Portugal | 03 March 2020Even though i had pre ordered those euros and called 1h before collection to male sure all was ok the person who helped me started talking to other members of staff and making phone calls without explaining to me why/what was it for. I had to ask if there was a problem. Also, as i was buying quite a lot of money (€4k) i felt very exposed, there was people queuing behind me and everyone could see and hear the amount of money i was carrying. Not nice at all. Lastly, the person who helped me told me it was cheaper to get home delivery even though the website says otherwise. If what she says is true it makes absolutely ZERO sense me leaving my house with that much cash. If i had known i’d have selected home delivery for safety, convenience AND better rate. This isn’t meant as an oficial complaint at all but more as points for improvement. You do have the best rates and i will try you one more time.

United Kingdom | 03 March 2020I've always used ICE Waterloo since their rates used to be good - never again. In the past the rate you saw on-line on the day was the rate you got, with a better rate for using the voucher you got on-line. Sadly this is no longer the case. When I turned up at the branch to pick up Euros with the voucher one afternoon last week they refused to give me the rate I'd seen only an hour earlier on-line, despite the fact their website clearly states that rates are fixed 8-10am each day. Basically it seems they now just pluck a random (very unfavourable) rate out of thin air for each unsuspecting customer that comes along. They were completely disinterested in the voucher. Not sure if this is just this branch of ICE or whether it's now company policy, but I went away feeling very badly conned. I definitely won't be back (having used them for years).
