Horrible experience with this moving company. Gave me a quote from NY to Texas, then when they came to pick up my items charged me double. After 14 days waiting for delivery the 18 wheeler couldn't drive in my complex and charged me extra $600 like it it was my fault for not being a professional driver because my apartment leasing agent said they never has issues with 18 wheelers driving in and out of this complex. Dumbo was extremely rude and threatening me they will leave my items on the street if I didn't pay right away. Well this was so inconvenient and I was frustrated after making the payment the drivers had to rent a uhaul just for few hours a very small one and at the truck stop they transferred my small one bedroom items and once it arrived I had a broken bookshelf, a broken bathroom Metro Shelving Unit and also a broken lamp. All had to be trashed. Dumbo was rude and did not make any payments. Costumer service on phone will not return your calls or email and you have to read all the fine small prints at bottom. That's how they get you. Please don't use these people you rather go with 2 men and a truk. Dumbo is only a company after your money with no concern for consumers.

Maya and Cooper were very helpful when planning my move. It was a small move but nevertheless they charged exactly what they quoted with no hidden charges and move went off without a hitch. The guys arrived on time and were very respectful and accommodating I would definitely use them again

When the necessity to engage a moving and storage company arose once more, I was extremely cautious and on alert because of my prior negative experiences with these types of businesses. After getting a referral from a coworker, I got in touch with Dumbo Moving and Storage and that was good.

I’ve used Dumbo moving twice already because they do such an amazing job. Not only are they affordable, they really do go the extra mile to make sure your new place looks exactly how you envisioned it. My most recent experience was this past weekend. Gela was one of my movers (out of 3) and Mia was the sales rep who helped with quoting. It was unusually hot for November when we moved but the guys still did a great job regardless. I tried to help a few times but they told me not to worry about anything, which was so nice! They took apart my bed at my old apartment and put it back together at my new place which was fantastic because I’ve never been able to reassemble the bed on my own! My first experience was a while ago but one of my movers (again, out of 3 total) was Firdavs and my sales rep that time was also Mia. I really can’t say enough good things about the service!

What went right, would be the better question. I reached out to Dumbo and once you do this, you're immediately harassed daily by phone and email to try to close you as a customer. I was ignoring daily calls, which should have been my first red flag. A key sticking point for me was having someone come out and do an estimate because I wanted to avoid any 'surprises' day of. They refused and cited COVID, which seemed okay, so as I was in a rush, I moved on. But I emailed over and over confirming the rates, number of people and what we had been quoted for as far as packing and moving. Cut to day of. The three packers who came said we had not quoted for wardrobe boxes, so they could not pack our closets. Who makes an estimate for a three bedroom apartment without considering their closets?!! They on the spot upcharged us and we felt forced into paying the fee (almost $1K over the quote) so we could get packed. They then slowly packed our belongings, leaving full rooms not packed the day before the move. I ended up having to pack them myself. Next day, day of the move, they arrived at 8 AM and didn't get to our new place, a mere 30 minutes away, until so late in the day that I was texting over and over trying to get an ETA. Our sales person finally texted me and said 3:30 PM; they arrived at 4:32 PM. Multiple items didn't get put back together because they were so late. When you're paying so much for a move, you really expect a lot more. I shared my feedback with our sales manager who said "no one could have predicted" we would need wardrobe boxes (?!) Just absolutely awful experience. When we went back to our old apartment, the movers had left empty cans of red bull and tape all over the apartment - on the floor. NEVER USE THEM.

Great help with the business driven move because this is the right team for these things. We crossed from New York to Iowa and they really helped make things come together for us.

From the the first call with Jonny and all his timely follow ups and attention to detail, to scheduling pricing & finally moving, Dumbo Moving has to be one of the best experience I've had when moving. These guys are GREAT!!!!

Reasons I’ll never book with Dumbo again and you shouldn’t either: My dad watched them literally throw a bunch of my stuff onto the truck (before they realized that he was with me). The day before my move, they said it should be delivered by 3 pm to my storage unit upstate. The day of the move, they told me that they were going to do another move before delivering my stuff because someone else in the area was also moving upstate. I got a call at 5 pm informing me that the truck broke down and they were waiting for a new one in the Bronx. Then they still had 2 apartment’s worth of stuff to load onto the other truck before making the 2 hour drive upstate. A few minutes later, I got a call asking if I could take delivery the following day between 11-1 because they wouldn’t make it to my storage unit in time to finish by 10 pm, when they close. I got a text message the next day saying that delivery would be between 8:30-9. I got a text at 9 letting me know they were 20 minutes away. My boxes piled in the truck were crushing each other, including boxes marked FRAGILE at the bottom of piles. I had 3 large boxes with arrows printed on them and fragile stickers indicating which way was up. They were all tipped on their sides in the truck. I told them to put aside my computer chair and a box of furniture protectors I bought to protect items in storage. They both got buried. Despite not holding up their end of the deal, and even though some of my moving fees were shared with another person (all fees associated with traveling upstate), the company only offered a 30% discount on my NEXT move, despite knowing that I’ve left the city. And as if I’d ever book them again.

Excellent workers, strong silent and friendly, they put in a long day and deserved a very nice tip at the end. We have already recommended Dumbo Moving to my family who live on Long Island and Northern Jersey, and they are passing the word, too.

I recently used Dumbo Moving and Storage and the communication I had was excellent. I really don't want to go through the experience of moving again as I did the last time. However, Dumbo Moving and Storage is a genuinely reliable company.

Company rep (Kevin) was very helpful in answering questions and providing all the information I needed to arrange for storage and cost was reasonable. Pickup crew arrived right on time, were polite, professional and efficient - and super nice guys. Excellent communication all the way around.

All four guys were courteous, efficient, and seemed to be careful. Everything made it in one piece and undamaged. Worth recommending!

This is now my 6th move in 12 years, and after a not so pleasant experience using a different company for my first move, someone recommended I use Dumbo. I immediately requested a quote and spoke to someone the same day who was super helpful and gave a very reasonable moving price. I have used them for every move since and have had 0 complaints. The movers are always super helpful, kind, and meticulous - really all one can ask for throughout the process. For instance in this current move - I was very worried about the price and spoke with Johnny who was able to work with me to get this booked. Bojan and his crew (truck #041) were very patient and even helped me to reorganize my bedroom when we realized we set it up in not the most ideal fashion. I have recommended Dumbo to anyone who asks and have not heard of one bad experience. Highly recommend for someone making a move of any distance.

Dumbo gave professional service all the way through! Each phone call, email and text message. The movers were excellent. They were courteous and respectful They were very careful and thorough. They packed and unpacked everything perfectly. Dumbo made a big day go very smoothly. I would definitely use again and I 100% recommend!

The guys were amazing - so quick, professional, careful and respectful. It was a very long day for them but they were great, and they made our move so smooth and so much less stressful! Sales representative was also very helpful and gave some great advice!
