Absolutely brilliant experience with Douglas and Gordon in particular Tom Yeomanson. Tom was amazing from start to finish, ensuring we were kept up to date and looked after through the experience of selling our house. We are so grateful to Tom for the brilliant service he provided us. Would highly recommend!

I would love to recommend people THINK TWICE to work with the Douglas and Gordon if someone doesn’t want to waste the precious time for nothing and doesn’t want to lose the mental health. It was completely disappointing experience ended up 3 weeks’ time lost which is quite important time for London market. As a newcomer to London, I started to have viewings with some agencies to rent a flat. From Douglas and Gordon, I was in touch with Isabella Toaldo and Harry Watts. After my experience, I would like to list my personal opinions for this Agency as following: (Please also find below after the listed items my unpleasant experience step by step to have clearer picture) 1. They keep people ON HOLD with incorrect information and cause to lose your valuable time and the other possible opportunities. 2. It is quite important to find a flat to initiate many official procedures in UK and they affect to lose your mental health. You may end up your days worrying whether it is possible to find a flat in a few weeks/ months. 3. They do not update anything in their website for the offer status. 4. They do not update anything on the property search applications and keep already rented flats as available. 5. Their reference information might be incorrect (such as address information in their mail signature). You most probably may lose your time to reach them. 6. It is impossible to modify provided offer in their website and impossible to reach them to get accurate information by mail and by call. 7. They may request your confidential information (like passport etc.) 8. It seems they work between 8:00-20:00 while they do not provide flat viewings around 18:30-19.00. They are proud that in London they are only agency who has the longer working time. It should be noted that to work effectively is more important than how long you work. 9. As per the above-mentioned items, it is clearly seen that the agency have UNPROFESSIONAL attitude and they are NOT RELIABLE. According to the listed item, I understand that if a flat is rented through this agency, it is impossible to solve any possible problem which might occur during the tenancy period since they are not reachable when a support is needed. For this reason, I HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND to anybody this agency. Please find my experience step by step to provide clear picture to keep yourself away and not to trust what they are saying: I have moved to London 4 weeks ago and immediately start working. My office is out of London. Since than I don’t have enough time to go viewings during the weekdays and I would like to settle as soon as possible, I explained my situation clearly to all agencies. Almost 1 week after my movement to London, I contacted with Isabella Toaldo through the application for property search and then I had viewing with Harry Watts. Actually, I was supposed to have viewing for another flat. Even it was not informed in advance that the other one rented, I had a viewing for another flat. I had provided my offer with some requests for the flat I had viewed. It was my first offer and I told him I am waiting for quick response and stop viewings with the other agencies. After my offer, the agency reduced the price online and I requested the reason of reducement to understand whether I can modify my offer or not. It was told by Isabella that she is not aware, it will be checked and returned back. Since 8th of April, I called both of them every day to learn the status of my offer. I explained I am open to modify my offer to deal with. For 2 weeks, they provided excuses such as difficult to reach landlord, we are getting quotation for painting etc. Later, Isabella called me that all goes positive and requested my passport copy; I asked when and how I should provide the details to Harry and couldn't get any response. I have tried to modify my offer on their website, it was impossible. I have tried to visit their office as per the address indicated in their signature on the mails; however, their office was moved as many others of their offices. In the end, I was successful to reach the phone number indicated in the window to learn where their office is located. I visited that office, and I have explained my feelings, they have suspicious information for their location and asked the reason why it is difficult to get positive or negative feedback for my offer. In the end of the day, Olivia provided me the information that the flat has already rented by others. As of today (with the date of 23.04.2023), this company is not trustable 47% on Trustpilot. In my opinion, this range should be higher (considering some Clients do not provide their opinions).

Poor experience. Did not show up to house viewing and could not get in contact with the Putney branch to find out where they were. All in all a huge waste of time.

I had an impressive experience as a seasoned real estate professional in letting a flat in Battersea (London) from the D&G team there. The entire process took a mere week to work through the paperwork and references and to ensure both the landlord and the tenant had a fairly seamless experience. ‘Jake’ the letting agent was attentive and professional and responded quickly to questions via email, calls and messages. I was doubly impressed when told after the keys had been handed over that this was his first letting. Well done Jake. Keep going.

l'd like to take the time to thank Alexander for helping my daughter in her property search around Kensington and Chelsea. Alexander was more than helpful, patient and completely professional at all times. Alexander took the time to get to know my daughter in order to match desirable and suitable properties for us to view. His communication was consistent and courteous and I would recommend Douglas & Gordon to anyone thinking of buying or selling property in the future. ZF

Well I can’t believe the 1* reviews! My experience was nothing short of FANTASTIC. I was trying to find a room for my daughter and as I was in Shropshire it was difficult to view anything. My daughter was in Clapham. Amelia was superb, even staying in contact and thinking of my daughter when a studio came available. My daughter has since found a room but I can only say that both Amelia Mist and James are a credit to your company. Well done, and Thankyou from me and Hattie 👏🏻

D&G Lettings arranged a gas safety certificate and the contractor, Waterways failed me for no apparent reason. A quote of £720+Vat followed as a 'recommendation' in order to pass. Although I opted for the fully managed, I arranged for another engineer myself to reinspect and the flat passed without a hiccup; my engineer told me that the options on the certificate were Yes, No, or N/A. Waterways could choose N/A but instead, 'recommended' an £800 option. Failing me for the sake of charging me to get more business. From what I understand, as a recommendation, I do not need to go ahead as it is just to raise awareness, but if it is a requirement and by law, then I must rectify it before I will pass the test. If I didn't appoint an engineer myself, then I must spend £800 before passing. Why is it that one engineer failed me and recommended an £800 fix and another passed me? I know most landlords are busy and would have chosen fully managed to hope that the letting agents will do a good job, but judging from my experience, it is worth spending an afternoon seeking out a second opinion. It is unfortunate that we are paying them and still need to do the job ourselves. I tried asking D&G Mr William Hodge to waive this charge as I didn’t think it was fair. If I did genuinely fail the test, then so be it, pay for the inspection and fix the problem, it is what's necessary. But for Waterways to fail me so that they can charge £800 is another issue. William sided with Waterways, they attended the property and did a job, good or bad. Waterways attended the property even though it was an unreasonable fail. So, pay. I would advise ANYONE and EVERYONE to avoid using D&G for ANY SERVICE, unless you want to get ripped off and receive the world's worst customer service. Con artists who just take people's money for the sake of it. AVOID AVOID AVOID. I'm basically for a FULLY MANAGED property, albeit it POORLY managed, so that you guys can appoint your rubbish contractors to earn more money. BRILLIANT business plan.

Dealt with their Wimbledon branch looking for a rental. I have contacted one of their agents who promised she would get back to me about the flat of interest. She returned a call to a landline the next day and did not hesitate a second to share all the information with my partner (not that I mind but it made us chuckle- clearly basic data protection is unheard of at D&G). The agent said she could not get hold of the landlord. Of course we have never heard from her afterwards. Chased her a week later and was told she was still trying to get hold of a landlord. The flat is still advertised on Rightmove. Pending the landlord has never been found-maybe it's time to file a missing person report? I'm being sarcastic ofcourse but you can't take this company seriously. Having looked through all the comments below I can see my experience is just a part of their standard modus operandi. They come across as a bunch of poorly trained teenagers doing "real estate" without a system,leadership or enthusiasm.

Very unprofessional and disorganised. Avoid at all costs. Douglas and Gordon East Putney are the most incompetent agents I have ever worked with. I had to chase multiple times to book a viewing. The viewing was finally held by Martha who said she would send me the offer form the following day but 8 days later I am still waiting for this to be sent. I had another viewing booked with Ciara where I made an offer on the spot which Ciara was very confident would be accepted. I heard nothing the following day so I chased for an update and was told I was given the wrong price and that my offer was rejected. Not great but mistakes happen so I made a second offer which I was told would be submitted straight away. I had to again chase multiple times for a response to then be told again that the offer was rejected. I raised my concerns to one of the managers, Sophie, who was dismissive and sarcastically suggested I could submit my offer online (although none of her negotiators have ever suggested this option to me) and added that my expectations are unfair. Clearly Sophie and I have a very different understanding of acceptable service. Switched to a big brand high street agent and received a much more personal service and secured a place within a few hours. Extremely disappointing.

Sophie H. and her team at D&G have looked after me and my rental for years. Sophie has vast experience in lettings, is uber efficient and very professional. It is always a joy to deal with D&G as they are also very proactive - they have guided me through each re let with great professionalism. I would never use another agency.

I had Emma as my agent at Douglas and Gordon and I must say she was very thorough and brought up properties that were best described as per my liking. She was ultra prompt courteous and very professional. Kept me informed all the time and she had all the details one would need or ask for in a viewing.
