I had the worst rental experience with them. When I gave my notice 3 months early, they had their agents prancing through my flat every day showing the place to new potential tenants. I work from home so this was major disruption. Their agents are like real vultures! Then they tried to withhold my security deposit for not getting place professionally cleaned and for missing light bulbs. Thank goodness I kept all emails and photos from when I moved in that showed the filthy place I had walked into with the missing light bulbs. Actually when I moved out the place was cleaner and had more working light bulbs than when I moved in. I ended up getting it back from the tenancy deposit scheme but they sure did waste my time and delayed the reimbursement. I will never use them for letting or purchase of property after this horrific experience.

Extremely unpleasant experience which ended in being charged £700 for non-existent damages (including splash marks and a small scratch on a chair) after just over a month in the property. We suspect the landlord wanted to recoup the costs of a massive leak on our first day in the property, and to clean up after building work we put up with throughout. Do not trust this company.

THE WORST AGENCY - the worst agent Olivia. I called first about a flat, they ensured me I’m first in the line and arranged a viewing. The day of the viewing, when I’m calling, they’re telling me they don’t have my details. I called them 3 times, the day they told me I was the first one to make an offer, to ensure they remembered. AVOID IT. When I asked for Olivia’s name to leave a bad review, she lied about her name. So unprofessional.

Bradley is such a lovely and helpful lad, bombarding me with emails of various flats.Hopefully they can help me out and my girlfriend to find our next home! I have contacted the last 2 weeks at least 10 agents so far they are the most attentive and helpful!Cheers guys,lovely weekend!

To those looking at Douglas & Gordon to be your next estate agent I strongly recommend you look elsewhere!!! The East Putney and Southfields offices were completely incompetent and kept sending me flats that were already taken or organising viewings and then cancelling them on the day. Two of the properties I made offers on at the viewings were suddenly under offer with an array of excuses delivered every time. A huge waste of my time. I would suggest to Douglas & Gordon they invest in customer service training to their staff. They claim to be the No.1 estate agent but with 52% judging their performance as bad they have a long way to go.

Super frustrating experience. Unfortunately our landlord has chosen to only communicate with us through DG and we are effectively at DGs mercy when needing something from them or the landlord. Our property manager's responsiveness is next to nonexistent. Since we have moved in there, there is hardly any issues that is addressed. We send an email only to send another one every week to follow up and get no response and when calling he avoids our calls and most appalling is that the 1 or 2 times he has picked up the phone he lies and says that he will get back to us and he never does. This has happened multiple times and we have only been living here a month or so. As a result we have no idea how to turn on the heating in the place and while we freeze, there are pending repairs such as window not opening and even the inventory changes are not made.. Sad thing is that, even if he does answer us and talk to landlord the whole process of doing back and forth between us and the landlord itself takes so much time. If our contract did not have a min stay clause we would immediately evacuate. Absolutely horrific! Absolute waste of money. I have tried reaching out to other divisions to express our concern but the whole freaking organization is like a unified scam organization. They all have a fake sorry ready to throw at you and "promise" to let the property manager know which in turn doesn't do anything and there is no higher level supervisor or anyone to complain to... As soon as they have the direct debit set up and they have the money flowing, you are on your own! For reference Im living in Kensington area

Orla, Lettings Manager, Hammersmith, could not have been more helpful. She has worked very hard in finding tenants for me, she is full of good advice and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I made three offers on two properties Douglas & Gordon were advertising. I haven't received any updates from the estate agents I was working with. Property 1 - 125 Upper Richmond Road. First offer - 07/07/2021. No follow-up from Callum. I received a phone call from Callum on 13/07/2021 stating the property was again on the market, I was confused since I didn't know my offer was not accepted. So I made a second offer. Second offer - 13/07/2021. Again No follow-up from Callum. Property 2 - 15, Upper Richmond Road Isabella made me aware of this property while I visited the property and arranged a viewing on 13/07/2021. Callum was the one showing me the property. I made an offer on the same day and no follow-up from Callum or Isabella. I called Douglas & Gordon approximately 6 times between 09 and 16 July to speak with either Callum or Isabella for an update on the offers. They would either not be available, off, or conducting duties outside the office. Messages were left but again no follow-up on my calls or messages. On 21/07/2021 I received an email from Sophie since she found a property that would fit my needs, it was property number 2. At this point, I requested to be removed from the mailing list since upon dealing with two estate agents and a manager the lack of professionalism was abysmal and I do believe that people working in the letting department are not aware of how to keep a track of their clients. Now due to the lack of work ethic from two of Douglas & Gordon letting agents I didn't make offers on other properties I saw since I was waiting to hear from them. From this experience I can not advise to work with Putney Douglas & Gordon

Complete waste of time! Had only 2 viewings in 3 moths period then I moved over to another agency and have 6 viewings a week! This agency did nothing to sell my flat and the communication was atrocious! If you want to sell your property avoid this agency!!! When I terminated the contract they didn’t even care why and didn’t even apologies for a crappy service. Disgusting agency!!!

We have worked with D&G twice now. In 2019 we worked with a lovely agent who was extremely helpful in finding us a flat on short notice as we had recently moved to the UK. We wanted to work with D&G again because of our previous positive experience but our most recent experience was the exact opposite. The agents were pushy, not forthcoming, sending us properties nowhere near what we were looking for, and difficult to work with it. We ended up working with a different agency. On top of all of that, getting our deposit has been a nightmare. Wrong amounts, delayed return, and swindling you for every cent. I wouldn't recommend working with D&G

We were renting a flat and stayed on it for over 5 years. I found in general this agency and at least in particular some of the personnel at the New King's Road inefficient, unprofessional and unethical. In short, they will always find excuses to push responsibility instead of looking proactively to resolve issues. I believe this is toxic symptomatic issue of their culture, starting from the Head of Tenancy Management Hannan Cronin, who most times we liaised with her, came across as opportunistic, not caring about tenants as customers and highly unreasonable; our first property manager Sam Evans, was also pretty inefficient most of the times and every time this was escalated to his manager, we noticed no accountability and little change overall. Given the amount of choices to rent from, if I found a property I would be inclined to take, but was rented by this agent, unfortunately I would avoid it and would keep looking - their management needs to be changed and intervene to change their corrosive culture. We rented the the property managed by D&G for over 5 years. Now that we have been on a new property, managed by a new agency, we can see such a MASSIVE difference on the property management and tenancy treatment. Considering the comments on the review, the inefficiency of the agent and lack of work ethic, I can't see the value on their fees.

Hannah at D&G has been the most wonderful with after care and attention, despite me finding a home/not with D&G Hannah kept up contact and I loved that she took her time on this. This is what you call customer care.
