The freezer was fine and delivered on time. but couldn't understand that when it said it had adjustable feet only 2 corners had feet which could be adjustable for uneven ground so I could only level it left to right but not back to front

No delivery tracking and multiple customer service promises about delivery went unfulfilled.

Our new dryer was delivered with care by two chaps who also took away our old dryer for recycling.

By a very long way, the worst company we have ever dealt with. We bought a Meaco Arete dehumidifier in January, a make we had purchased several times in the past and found to be reliable. From the beginning the dehumidifier acted strangely, never showing the humidity in our small room with the window closed and the heating on going much below 60%, never turning itself off, and suddenly for no reason escalating the humidity levels it was reading. It looked like some sort of sensor problem. We reported it as faulty, expecting a simple refund or replacement. Appliances Direct then forced us to send multiple photos and videos (most of which weren't really much use in explaining the problem), would not take our word that the machine wasn't working properly, and kept delaying or missing communication deadlines for replies. They arranged collection of the machine and we naively thought that would be the end of the saga. Eventually they got back to us saying they that the machine had been tested, no fault found and we could either have it back or a partial refund, with a £20 deduction for the collection fee and another 20% 'restocking' fee - so they obviously intend to sell the dehumidifier on to someone else. We are unsure how the tests were done and whether they even tested the right machine. We were so fed up at this point, and knew it was a lost cause with such a stubborn and non customer friendly company, that we gave up and took the partial refund, £60 down from where we started. We have since bought another Meaco dehumidifier from Argos that works perfectly. Lots of the reviews on here are in the context of simple 'bought something, it works', which is fine, but you will have big trouble with Appliances Direct if you are unlucky enough to buy something that isn't right, as they will do everything possible to deny a full refund - and besides ripping you off, it looks like they have no qualms selling the same item on again.
