I chose Appliances Direct because I needed my delivery on a specific day and other sellers only seemed to offer a delivery window of 5-10 business days, which is not very helpful. I paid extra for it, but it was worth it to know exactly when it would arrive. I bought a radiator and matching thermostatic valves, and it all seems very good quality. The easiest/quickest radiator replacement I’ve done, although the valves seemed to come with 2 extra o-rings in the kit even though they were all olive/compression fittings. Confused me for a long time as the o-rings didn’t fit anywhere and the instructions are useless. I just did it the same way I’ve always fitted radiator valves (without the extra o-rings) and it’s all working perfectly. Driver was friendly and called 45 minutes before arrival. I deducted a star because the instructions were awful, literally more confusing than having no instructions at all. Thankfully I didn’t need them.

I purchased a Hoover Tumble dryer from them, it completely broke down 4 months after purchasing. I contacted them and they asked for videos of the machine to be sent, which they did, but they were unable to book a call out that day. When they finally booked an engineer I had to wait a week, and they could only do weekdays so had to book a day off work. They advised me I would receive a call that morning to confirm my repair slot. The day of repair came and no one called to book the time slot, so I called them: "Yes sir, the engineer will be with you before 7pm this evening, but call back this afternoon if you have not received an ETA." I called them back at 15.30, as their lines close at 5pm. "Yes sir, the engineer will be with you before 7pm"... no one arrived. I called them the following day, being a Saturday they claimed they could not book a call out and said they would all me between 9-5 that Tuesday... no call by 15.00, so I call them, they check my number on the system and it is completely wrong. So they state they have updated the system and booked another repair for a next Friday, another day off work. It is now 16.30 on said day, I have called them twice and been told "Yes sir, the engineer will be with you before 7pm" I am not convinced so ask to speak to the repair teams manager, they agree to transfer me and do so. I get through to the Hoover Warranty team, their engineer, a northern British bloke, states "We have no record of any repair booking sir". I call back Appliances Direct, getting the same Americanish accent I am now accustomed too "Yes sir, the engineer will be with you before 7pm", I demand a full refund or replacement machine. They refuse saying that they cannot do that unless an engineer attends. I demand to speak to a manager. They state the manager will call me back before 5pm today...or tomorrow morning. I ask them what number they intend to call me on, and they recite to me a completely fabricated number, again... after supposedly having updated the system days ago. I now await a call back from a manager... I very much doubt its coming.

Shopped around for the size I was looking for and chose Appliance Direct as I had used them previously with great results. Slightly disappointed with postal service provided it was expected to take a week for my radiator to arrive. On the expected arrival date I received a message from them to say it was delayed and in the sortation centre and an update on delivery would follow. The following day I received an update to say it would be arriving within 3hrs, luckily I wasn't going out anywhere, better comms from postal company would gave been appreciated.My radiator was well packaged and with no damage, proceeded to fit it easily with instructions provided. Great service and comms from Appliance Direct that DPD could learn from.

The delivery men did well to get such a large appliance up and down stairs and were also on time. However, I understand that the 'ten-year guarantee' is only for parts and would require a £144 fee for fitting by the Zanussi engineer!!!
