I have used their service in the past with no issues but this year I needed to file my Partnership return and logged in to my account and got prompted to pay £52 using credit card through PayPal. I have made the payment and the payment has taken out but still can't access my account. Trying to contact their billing and support department but response for the last two weeks. Just fed up with their service and won't me using their service again. Will make a formal complaint to HMRC to remove their name for their website as trusted company.

United Kingdom | 08 May 2024Taxfiler dragged their feet and then referred me HMRC to resolve the issues relating to preparation of 2024 tax returns using their software. Customer service has gone from 5 star to zero almost overnight.

United Kingdom | 26 April 2024Despite our repeated requests and pointing out serious software issues, you have not addressed the problems we've raised. The quality of your customer support is extremely poor, and it's clear that your developers lack the expertise that even my own IT personnel possess. Your service has wasted a significant amount of our time, including my IT staff's, forcing us to manually submit our tax returns and financial accounts via the HMRC website & Companies House Webste. I don't even have read-only access to your software, which you promised. We joined Iris upon your insistence, yet the data transfer process you outlined in your emails and on your website's demo failed. We followed every step you provided, but instead of offering support, you blocked my read-only access, which feels like you're intentionally causing financial hardship. Both Iris and TaxFiler expect payment, essentially double-charging us, which is completely unacceptable. Given the stress and inconvenience caused, I'm prepared to escalate this matter to the Ombudsman and pursue legal action for the financial losses and emotional distress you've inflicted. I've never had to complain before, despite being a long-time customer and paying all required fees on time. Your customer service has been consistently inadequate, and I'm not confident that you'll understand the severity of my complaint.

United Kingdom | 09 February 2024I would have given this software a 4 or 5 if it wasnt for the horrendous experience we have had over the data migration process. Forced to move away from a package, failed migration process, lack of support, communication, guidance. Iris sold us a package that seemingly we should not have been sold!!! We have 7 days left on our taxfiler software and no one is helping us in a time appropriate manner. Absolute disgrace!!!! Might sound overdramatic but it has been a mentally draining and stressful experience!!! This has been ongoing since September 2023 to date and is still unresolved!!!!

United Kingdom | 30 January 2024I've been a TaxFiler user for years, but since its acquisition by Iris I have noticed two things. 1. Price increases of double/digits or close to 2. Server issues on critical deadline day/s every year, despite charging more to their customers, they have failed to upgrade. They will want you to move over to Elements, but frankly I have no confidence they will put any more care into that product.

United Kingdom | 24 October 2023Really awful experience trying to do the enforced migration from Taxfiler to IRIS Elements. Confusing and incoherent instructions and terrible customer support. Impossible to speak to anyone and long delays with the email support - though some support staff are very helpful when they eventually make contact. Taxfiler and IRIS are worse in terms of communication than HMRC and that's a very low bar!! Shame as Taxfiler used to be excellent.

United Kingdom | 31 August 2023Great product. I have been using this since 2015. I have the same concern as others that once Iris has bought this, it may go downhill. However, still as of today, the product has not let me down. I now can see a message in my account that it is being transferred over to Iris Elements. I am a bit nervous about this move since me and my team are heavily invested in this over last few years. Happy to use this in future as far as the support is there and it doesn't break the bank.

Turkey | 26 July 2023The software itself is good, I've been using it for my accountancy practice for several years. However, the customer service is non-existent. I've been trying to access my account since last week. I emailed as advised on Monday, spoke to the live chat, which is actually a bot, and emailed another department yesterday. I've emailed again today and tried live chat again, to be given exactly the same advice word for word and a blunt "we don't do telephone support, someone will email you." It's almost month end and I can't access my client data. This is appalling. I'm currently looking for an alternative software provider. **Updated to add that I was finally contacted by someone after I'd emailed the main support desk at Iris. It still took another 3 days of back and forth as my emails were not read properly, however the situation was finally resolved. One week later I've received another email apologising for the problem and giving me a free month.

United Kingdom | 28 February 2023No customer support on phone. You get locked in on the most expensive package even if you do not have regular high flow of clients or needs. Users in peak period are considered active all year round, despite the fact that nothing will be done on those users. It's unfair to force customers to pay a high account all year round for a package they do not need.

United Kingdom | 01 February 2023Terrible product. You can produce a tax return (i.e. for partnerships) but can't file it because HMRC rejects credentials sent from TaxFiler. Credentials work on the HMRC site and allow me to log in and see the details of my partnership account but the same credentials (Password was cut and pasted so no possibility of mistake) - leads to a message saying HMRC rejected log-in and password - but it still works on HMRC site directly. Why can't HMRC simply create a website for partnerships to file - just as they have done for individuals and cut out the money grabbing useless software companies. ...and even their phone number as shown on HMRC site says "number unrecognised". Beware too: "Please do not call for product support. Support is via email only." Both HMRC and Taxfiler are a disgrace- this should not be an HMRC approved software. Nick Lockett, ADL Solicitors

United Kingdom | 27 December 2022I have been using Tax Filer for about one year, The old version is a great product very simple to use, however, when Tax Filer has merged been to Iris the software is not the same as it was, much slower with a few bugs. A few months ago I spoke to a lady called Davinder Bajwa about some issues on the software. She acknowledged the system issues and agreed to refund me one month subscription, since then I have not received any money. I have even received a credit note, but not the money. I have emailed the company several times chasing my payment. The last email I received on 30/11/2022 said " Good afternoon Wellington, We have forwarded your request to the relevant department. " In summary: it is not a great product as it was, but still have good value for money, but the customer service is shocking, doesn't have a phone number to speak to , and the responses via email are quite vague writing from people that do not understand the software.
