My optician advised me to have a cholesterol test after a recent eye-examination. My monumentally useless GP surgery (NHS) would not do one.. (Thank you!🤦🏻) so tried local chemists - no use. Opted for this test. The test was not too expensive and it came quickly. There were instructions and a YouTube video to watch. However, these said to get blood from the side of my fingers and not the top. I could not gather enough blood to even part fill the vial sent. With the last one I used the last spring-loaded lancet on the tip of my finger and that worked perfectly, but could not fill the vial. I sent it off in hope! The kit comes with a prepaid tracked envelope, but needs to go to a post office, not in a letter box. That is stressed and rightly. I got notified when the sample was received and an amazingly quick turn around for the test… which is where the next problem occurred. What you get back is literally that - the test results. As my GP won’t accept the results, I had no means of interpreting them or assessing whether my cholesterol was high or low. In the end daughter #2 stepped in and asked a friend of hers who is a fourth year medical student. She says that I am okay, and I trust that but otherwise not really useful for me. UPDATE: Having read the reply, I was able to access my results, so thank you and rated higher.
