Struggling with mental health in sixth form was incredibly challenging, but finding support through mentoring transformed my experience. My mentor's guidance encouraged me to open up about my feelings, fostering a healthier approach to managing my mental well-being. As I became more involved in my school community as a student ambassador, I gained confidence and a sense of purpose. This engagement also contributed to my overall well-being. Additionally, my mentor's support played a pivotal role in achieving my dream of receiving all medical school offers! Their guidance and encouragement helped me navigate the complexities of the application process and bolstered my confidence, turning what once seemed like an unattainable goal into a remarkable reality.

Honestly, it was so helpful with my successful application for Medicine. I highly recommend it for their mentors as they have been through what you will go through so will pass on their expert advice so you get the most of your applications.

I initially applied for Zero Gravity with the purpose of receiving help with my personal statement to improve my chances of getting into a top university. Since then, I have had two mentors, the first of which called Jinseo, from LSE, who was incredibly helpful in not only improving my application strength but also increasing my interest in Economics and furthering my reasons to study it at university. I have also found the community section very useful especially while I was trying to find super-curriculars for my personal statement. On the flip side, I also loved helping others through the community especially people who were interested in possibly taking the EPQ, as I had already completed mine. Overall, I have gained a lot from the Zero Gravity platform and hope it is not the last time I am involved with it.

I am Adam, someone who is deeply interested in the ethical and epistemological side of philosophy . Zero Gravity has helped me explore job options for the future using the opportunities function and the masterclasses the Zero Gravity members host have helped me gain more insight into the oxbridge application process and how to make a good philosophy personal statement. Although I rarely interact with the community, the posts usually provide good humour and at times have helped me answer questions I've yet to ask. Regarding my mentor, Naomi has been a huge help in getting me a Cambridge interview for philosophy. She has been a great source of support during the application process and is one of the main factors as to why I am doing so well currently.

Joining Zero Gravity was a pivotal moment in my academic journey, driven by my initial aspiration to secure a place at a prestigious university renowned for its art and design programs, with a focus on architecture. Under the guidance of my dedicated Zero Gravity mentor, I engaged in various extracurricular activities that unexpectedly ignited my passion for graphic design. This newfound interest led me to create a pros and cons list, which ultimately helped me to refine my career path. Zero Gravity has been unwaveringly supportive, significantly enhancing my chances of receiving university offers. Their assistance allowed me to firm a university that aligns perfectly with my aspirations and personal growth. This experience has not only enabled me to explore and develop new interests but also to step outside my comfort zone, fostering a sense of confidence and readiness for the future.

I was very anxious to do interviews for medicine as it was an unknown experience to me and I didn’t think I was good enough. My mentor prepared me for my medicine interviews and supported me which allowed me to secure 3/3 offers from interview and has significantly increased my confidence.

I am an aspiring natural scientist, hoping to study in the university of Exeter. I have massively enjoyed my experience on Zero Gravity, and my mentor has been instrumental in guiding me through my university applications. My mentor has helped me to create a compelling personal statement and helped me to refine my interview techniques, ensuring I present myself confidently and effectively. This allowed me to secure 5/5 offers, to universities I would never have considered without my mentor. My mentor has also supported me with completing my Welsh Baccalaureate project by helping me generate title ideas, and given me some excellent revision advice for completing my exams. The community has been especially helpful with completing surveys needed for my project, and I have enjoyed both receiving and giving advice in the chat forums.

My mentor has been so helpful in patiently explaining the maths and physics questions I am stuck each week, as well as reassuring me when I am stressed, and answering other questions on uni life and working in industry. I feel so grateful to have access to my mentor as I know that whenever I need to talk about anything I can ask someone who has experience and knowledge to help me. This is useful as he is where I want to be in a few years, so he is like a role model. He also gave me ample support in writing my personal statement and conducting mock interviews with me. If I haven’t sent him any questions in a week and he hasn’t heard from me he sends me a message to check in with me to see if there’s anything he can do. I find this motivates me to do more practise questions. Overall, my mentor has helped me in many ways with both academic and personal growth. I have also found the community section of Zero Gravity useful as it makes me feel less alone as there are others in the same boat as me.

Throughout my application process Zero Gravity allowed me to ask others questions and this feature I found beneficial as it not only provided me with a range of options that i hadn’t considered before, but it also helped to reassure me. In particular, it is the positive and supportive environment which Zero Gravity fosters which drew me to it when i had a question. When forming my application my mentor went above and beyond and this along with the masterclasses offered allowed me to truly understand what makes a competitive application. My mentoring sessions also helped me massively in communicating my ideas, this has not only benefited me in interviews but also has given me more confidence in general.

In September, I will be starting an integrated master's degree at Newcastle University for biochemistry, which I am very excited about. Zero Gravity has been so helpful in finding me a great mentor, Hafsah, who was one of the people who helped me the most with editing my personal statement and has given me loads of great tips and fun stories about her time at uni so far. I've also attended some masterclasses, which were helpful in retrospectively assessing what I put in my statement to make it stand out, like my extracurriculars and science projects.

My Zero Gravity mentor has played such an important role in my application, with our journey starting in Year 12, when she was a fresher too, so it’s felt all the more wholesome to watch us progress together! My mentor reassured me every step of the way, be it through personal statement checks, admissions preparations, or even just life advice regarding the transition to university itself… I leave feeling ever inspired to give back by paying it forward, to empower someone else, just like myself, to prove that their dreams really can come true! All in all, I would definitely recommend!

The zero gravity platform has been nothing but amazing! I have recommended it to so many people as it really is a platform with the kindest people and so much support. My mentor has been exceptional at giving me advice and communication throughout the year and really helped with decisions and advice from the start of my application process and journey. When at university I would be thrilled to continue using Zero Gravity and even become a mentor to others! The experiences have been fantastic and even communicating with like-minded people of the same age as me on the community feature has been so lovely! I can't wait to pursue my passions at university and stay on the Zero Gravity platform.

I love the weekly calls with my mentor who's a current undergraduate as they really get me since they were also in my shoes once. The calls are engaging and fun and I look forward to updating my mentor on my success and goals and they really try to make it possible and help wherever they can. The Zero Gravity team also sends really useful weekly opportunity emails which are crucial for development professionally as you expand your network and go to events and broaden your horizons. I definitely would recommend!

When I first joined Zero Gravity I aspired to go to Oxford University. However, at the start of year 13, this changed and I now had my eyes set on the University of Bath. Although I had been practising Oxford entrance exams for months, my mentor (Joe Seddon) was very supportive of me and helped me take the right steps to my change in path. I was also lucky enough to spend a week in the Zero Gravity Office. This was a very enriching experience as I got to gain experience working on social media projects and the Zero Gravity podcast. My meetings with Joe helped me gain a large variety of different skills both educational and also career-based such as networking skills. Above all, my time with Joe has helped me to see more clearly the vision I have for my future in politics.

Zero Gravity was key for me realizing my dream of attending university and supported me throughout the whole application process. The platform has also led to my grades improving from the masterclass sessions, allowing me to choose from a greater range of universities. Because of my mentor's confidence in me, I was able to reach the interview stage of applying to Oxford. While I may not have been accepted, the experience enhanced my skills and deepened my love for Chemistry. My mentor guided me from crafting my personal statement to conducting mock interviews, boosting my confidence. Without this platform, the idea of pursuing higher education, let alone applying to Oxford, would never have been possible. The community has also allowed me to connect with like-minded people and have found some friends for life through there.

I feel as though with each Zero Gravity session with my mentor I was able to gain more confidence in the different revision strategies I could use in my Psychology A level course. I felt the support was beneficial and I was able to ask questions and receive in depth feedback and responses from my mentor. She encouraged me a lot and gave me a level of understanding and confidence within my A level course.
