United Kingdom | 27 June 2024I participated in Zero Gravity last year with my mentor Joseph. He helped me think of a plan to write my personal statement and go through any questions I had regarding the application process but also life in university. It made me more comfortable when applying as I now know what to expect.

United Kingdom | 27 June 2024I have always been passionate about my education and being able to achieve my goals, so when I stumbled upon Zero Gravity and connected with my mentor Elmira, it felt like fate. Elmira has been instrumental in guiding me through the university application process, providing invaluable advice and insight that I wouldn't have access to otherwise. Her expertise and support have helped me navigate the complexities of applying to the top universities, whilst also providing support on my A-Level subjects and university major. With her help, I have gained confidence in my abilities and have a clearer path towards achieving my academic and career goals. Zero Gravity has truly been a game-changer for me, and I am grateful for the support and guidance I have received from both the platform and my mentor. My mentor but also this platform, deserves so much more recognition!

United Kingdom | 27 June 2024I never planned to go to Sixth form, let alone University, but after being encouraged to sign up for Zero Gravity and being assigned a mentor, I realised that University wasn't as scary and unachievable as I first thought. One thing led to another and suddenly I had this new passion and applied for Oxford, the fact I've received a conditional offer is still mind-blowing to me, and I'm so thankful to Elisha for all of her help over the past year and helping navigate me through all the stress I felt submitting coursework and awaiting my interviews!

United Kingdom | 27 June 2024I come from an inner-city school in North London and I applied to Zero Gravity after hearing about it at UNIQ (oxford summer school). It was the best thing for me. After having so much disruption to my education at school, I was able to work with my mentor and build on my skills and gain more confidence. I truly think I was able to beat the odds because of my mentor and rise above my situation rather than getting lost amongst the struggle. I was summer pooled for the University of Cambridge and I think that because of my continuous engagement with my mentor, I still stand a fighting chance. Zero Gravity has allowed me to engage with others going through the same thing and reminded me that I am not going through this alone and has given me the opportunity to further my education myself, which in turn has strengthened my ability.

United Kingdom | 27 June 2024I was an early applicant and was matched with my mentor who had completed the same degree I was aspiring to do. Not only did they help me perfect my personal statement but I also learnt how to approach and tackle the admissions assessment. I found the skills that I learnt with my mentor were skills I could also apply in the classroom. It taught me how to be more precise with my writing, refined my presentations skills, and taught me to look at things from all different perspectives. Our weekly sessions ensured that I continuously met deadlines and kept on top of my work alongside juggling my school work and job. I was also given the opportunity to look over some of my previous work like essays I had written and get advice from my mentor on how I could improve it to achieve top grades.

United Kingdom | 27 June 2024I will be studying psychology at university and I plan to do a placement year as part of the course (sandwich year). I am passionate about helping others and I am hopefully starting to volunteer at a charity that does play sessions for disabled children as a play worker. The Zero Gravity community has been so helpful and everyone is so kind and friendly. It is truly an amazing space to get advice on anything regarding university. In addition whilst I have not attended many masterclasses the ones I have attended have been hosted by people that are super knowable and I got a lot out of the ones I did attend. My mentor has been so amazing, she really helped me with my personal statement to study psychology at university. I really struggled to know what to write within the personal statement and she really helped me to nail my personal statement which lead to me getting offers from all of the courses I applied to. In addition my mentor has supported me through two rounds of mock exams that did not go the best. She helped me to understand that even though I did not do the best and got a D in those mock exams that there is loads I can learn from them and that maybe my revision techniques where not the best.

United Kingdom | 27 June 2024My experience with zero gravity has been amazing. I’ve been exposed to so many amazing opportunities and have been part of a lovely community. My mentor has been amazing. She helped me prepare for my NSAA, helped me draft my personal statement and did mock interviews with me to help me get into Cambridge. She was so sweet and comforting when I got rejected from Cambridge and it has been amazing working with her. I will definitely miss her a lot and I know she will go on to do something amazing after she graduates.

United Kingdom | 27 June 2024I’m hoping to study Mathematics and to apply to top universities for this subject, often an admissions test or interview is needed. My mentor was pivotal in helping me succeed in both. Not only was he always answering my questions via the chat but he also provided me with interview preparation during our mentoring sessions. While my mentor was able to help with specific techniques for my tests, the Zero Gravity masterclasses gave me a practical understanding of how to prepare and revise for such an exam. Other than being an aspiring mathematician, I am an avid reader and film blogger. I have found writing online to be an excellent way to improve my articulation and confidence. I am also passionate about volunteering, whether it’s within the school or out and whether it’s for the local foodbank or an online mental health initiative

United Kingdom | 26 June 2024My mentor was wonderful, he supported me the whole way through and there is no way I could’ve got the offers I got without him. The wider site is exceptional and gave me insights that allowed me to excel in my subjects too.

United Kingdom | 26 June 2024Zero Gravity provided me with a mentor who has guided me through every step of my application journey, both through academic support and friendship. Despite being rejected from Oxford post interview, I want to be an example that Oxbridge are not the be all and end all, my mentor was there for me throughout every step of the interview process and dealing with the subsequent rejection. Aside from this, I have learnt so much from zero gravity, through masterclasses to creating research projects to discuss with my mentor that aided my application significantly. Without zero gravity and my mentor I wouldn’t be where I am today, and I wouldn’t be fully prepared for my university journey.

United Kingdom | 26 June 2024I am a future university student passionate about forensic science. My experience with my mentor was sublime, as she constantly helped me and challenged me to create a better personal statement, by offering me tips and tricks about how to formulate it, as well as what admissions offices are looking for based on her experience. We were able to bond rapidly as she was very open and sociable, making it easier for me to communicate my worries to which we would together find a solution.

United Kingdom | 26 June 2024I study Biology, Chemistry and Maths at a level and my mentor has been able to assist me in developing subject fluency to boost my performance both in exams and as someone thinking scientifically which I wouldn't have received without the 1 on 1 meetings. I have worked with Alex from Zero Gravity and we have just finished the national pilot at my school. I have also engaged in other Zero Gravity experiences such as the fashion drop in which I placed 3rd.

United Kingdom | 26 June 2024I have greatly benefited from the Zero Gravity platform. Without it, I would not have known how to write a personal statement. My school’s advice was severely limited, which is why I joined the invaluable ‘Sorted for Summer’ personal statement program. Outside of my studies I work in my local library, and volunteer with Girlguiding and The Holocaust Educational Trust. Without advice from my mentor, masterclasses and the Zero Gravity Community I would not have known how to write about these endeavours in a way that Admissions Tutors would find informative and engaging. The Zero Gravity community has also been a brilliant source of advice and knowledge. I have received information about a wide range of topics, such as text choices for my English Coursework and if I should bring a bike to university. Community has given me the confidence to know that I can achieve my goals

United Kingdom | 09 June 2024I can't even begin to say how much zero gravity has helped me this year. I come from a family where I have no connections to the law and not many opportunities to break into the legal sector, so this has meant that I have used zero gravity and the spaces to find opportunities which have really benefited me. I am only in year 12 right now, but I feel that I have a plethora of things to write about and things that will help me get into my dream uni's. For example, I have had work experience at one of Manchester's biggest law firms, have been to Cambridge University on a fully paid law conference and this summer I will be doing work experience at an incredible commercial law firm in London. All of these opportunities have come from posts from Zero Gravity members, and I am so thankful that I get the chance to access all of these opportunities

United Kingdom | 09 June 2024I joined zero gravity 3 years ago and was matched with an excellent mentor who helped me significantly in my ucas application and supported me throughout. I couldn’t have done it without zero gravity. It allowed me to achieve the zero gravity scholarship too, which I think is a fantastic thing they have to offer, it’s supported me loads financially and helped me focus on my uni grades. Once I started uni I also became a mentor and I have continued to get a huge amount of support with my future career, speaking to people from different fields, job and internship opportunities… I am so glad to have joined this platform, they will nurture you from the start and give you the best shot in excelling in the future

United Kingdom | 04 June 2024The community on Zero Gravity is so lovely, and having so many people of a similar background is so comforting, especially seeing people achieve things like going to a Russel Group or Oxbridge. The opportunities shared mean I was able to make successful applications to Sutton Trust and UNIQ summer schools, attend helpful advice sessions and receive direct advice from people in the places I aspire to go! My mentor is also lovely and is helping me write my personal statement
