They cancelled our insurance after sending no correspondence, aside from a text which we received whilst in hospital with our child. Explained all this but they refused to budge, cancelled our policy, will not renew EVER and have blacklisted us. Couldn’t get insured for less than £1200 more. One place quoted us £6k ( Aviva) as a result of all this. On top of which we had already paid a one off annual fee (£1k+) which Toyota Insurance received and have not paid back yet. The reason? Two documents that we provided in seconds once we spoke to them. Only went with Toyota Insurance as we’d bought a car from Toyota. Will never buy another Toyota, so they will be losing ten’s of thousands.

United Kingdom | 23 June 2024AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE A PLAQUE PLEASE. If there was a chance to give a zero star, honestly I would have given it. I have never in my over 40years of life left a review for any company, be it good or bad, but I felt compelled to write this one. This is the most incompetent, dangerous and awful company I have ever insured my car with. The last 2years with this company has been the most awful and traumatic experience of my life, and still ended up with no NCD to show for it (except for the 10years I had prior to insuring with them) despite paying for Protected NCD and legal cover. Where do I even start from? As someone already stated on this site, THEY do not investigate accidents but simply apportion blame, despite the third party admitting fault ooo. No courtesy car for over a week therefore I was unable to go to work and I eventually had to hire a car from my own pocket. Cancelling policy despite having an arrangement in place, Infact I can write a book about my very traumatic experience with this awful company. Last 2 years wasted, and most definitely the most traumatic 2 years I even spent with any car insurance company. Please and please avoid this company at all cost and do not be sucked in by their cheaper price compared to other car insurance companies. I seriously wished I had stayed with AA in 2022 instead of going with this awful company. I am still traumatised from my experience with this company. Please AVOID AT ALL COST. Toyota came up the cheapest, I tried to do it online but it said it was having technical difficulties and to call. It gave l me 20 days to do it so I tried again later. Every day still tech difficulties but I work the hours they are open and couldn’t call until today. They first can’t find the quote. Finally find it. Then say they have technical difficulties and I will have to get a new quote which was MUCH MORE because it was now 5 days til my insurance ran out. Extremely frustrating. Currently sat on endless hold for someone senior. TERRIBLE

United States | 22 May 2024After accepting my payment and sending me a welcome email for my new car policy, Toyota Insurance very aggressively gave me a week to confirm basic information they should have collected at time of underwriting. Their email went in my spam folder and they cancelled my policy with no possible recourse. They didn't even try to call me. They've put an "enforced termination" of my policy in my track-record which will cost me additional money... never made a claim in 20 years, never had an accident.

United Kingdom | 13 May 2024Scammers second time.in a row debited my bank and told me they don't have the funds and bank confirms they have. Just tell you to calm down and wait ! Madness £750 not just pocket change like banging your head on a brick wall customer service. I will never use this company again it's just stupidity 2 years in a row now and apparently never happens to another customer. Apparently I have to wait 5 to 7 days for a refund from them when they 'dont have the payment' The irony. This is just stress I don't need and will I even get my money back before my car insurance runs out to pay for my insurance prob not they are a joke!!!! 9 th of may payment taken still being told they don't have it!!!!

United Kingdom | 17 January 2024Been with this company for a year. Wouldn't recommend. The company they deal with for windscreen claims is appalling. 2 week wait for a windscreen replacement. That's my car off the road for 2 weeks now. Reported to Toyota insurances and they didn't offer any help at all. Won't be using again.

Despite having legal cover - did not provide us with access Accepted the third party claim without investigating - as they know it’s customer who wil pay more next time renewal is up . They should be forced to close their shop in the uk . Absolute disgrace . They have the audacity to tell me - go to financial ombudsman - WE DONT REALLY CARE - In my 20 years of driving experience I haven’t seen anyone like these guys

United Kingdom | 10 November 2023This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. I went with them because they were cheaper. Aggressive emails threatening to cancel insurance unless you send documentary evidence of everything within 7 days. Final straw was the not accepting I had owned the car since new as there was a change of keeper on the V5 when I settled finance. This resulted in a massive hike. Now starting the complaints procedure. I just wish I had chosen a proper insurance company. Avoid at all costs.

United Kingdom | 27 October 2023I got a new Toyota SUV in May this year and decided to make use of their Insurance because I found it not as expensive as other providers. This guys asked me about my NCB certificate during the process of filling the form and I told them I had it. According to them, they requested for an evidence by post but I did not see any letter from them. I could not believe that this wicked people took off my vehicle insurance in June and I did not realise until September so I literally had no vehicle insurance on my brand new Toyota Yaris Cross 2023 for four months. I tried to reach them and was told because all their effort to reach me regarding the NCB was in vain so they had to take off the insurance after 1 month. This people did not write me any email neither did they call me, which was the fastest and easiest way to reach me. all my transaction with them was by email and I'm wondering, why post me a letter. My life was at risk for 4 months, What if there has been an accident? What if I had to make a claim? what if???... I have taken this car to several long journeys, what if Police had stopped me? What if I've been fined a huge amount of money? These guys are not reliable at all. They are so ridiculously useless. Please don't use them, they will put your at the risk of Danger.

United Kingdom | 19 October 2023Unjust 'red flag' against my name I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as me. Despite promptly paying for a policy with this company, I received no confirmation email or access to policy documents. The website's login portal required an account that I was never given the chance to set up, leaving me in the dark. After stumbling upon these concerning reviews online, I grew skeptical. This led me to contact my bank for a refund, which was promptly processed. Turns out they are a legitimate company and have now put a 'red flag marker' against my name for voiding the policy due to non-payment. My current insurance company are now saying they will not continue to insure me unless this marker is taken off. Toyota are refusing to take the marker off, stating that i had many chances to cancel my insurance, and that their cancellation policy is outlined in the policy documents (which I obviously never received). I'm struggling to see how I could have even cancelled a policy I had no proof of getting and feel like I'm being penalised for being cautious about a company that seriously looks like a scam. Would encourage anyone else in this position to leave their feedback on here, as it might help us all to build a case and get the marker taken off. If the marker stays there, it will always be a struggle finding car insurance and I suspect it will be costly. Annoyed that I didn't check Trust Pilot first! But it was Money Supermarket that referred me to Toyota, so assumed they'd be ok. They may be legitimate but I have serious concerns with their company conduct.

Website unable to complete the application, so rang them to follow through, adviser was politely said she was having system issues..and was unable to find my quote on there system???? Asked for my name more than 4 times?? I felt they were lost in the woods, and lost the ability to go any further with them. Politely said I would try somewhere else as life is too short!!! Terrible reviews on them, maybe it was for the best… shocking as not what I expected from Toyota.. terrible.

Shocking customer service and put quotation price up by a further £150 , claiming purchase date was incorrect? Also tried to get out of my 11 years no claims bonus , despite emailing them the proof from my previous insurance company. I decided not to continue with purchase and stuck with my current insurance company.

United Kingdom | 14 August 2023This insurance company are liars and cheats. They claimed there was a fault on my insurance and put my premium up. They sent me aggressive emails and a letter threatening me. Toyota Insurance are and absolute disgrace with totally ineffective and poorly trained staff who did not know how to manage this situation. I proved them wrong, made a formal complaint and have raised this with the Ombudsman. The case is being investigated.

United Kingdom | 19 July 2023These guys are an absolute waste of time,as a new customer with 7 years NCB I was after a new insurance policy, they did nothing buy waste my time,absolutely awful customer service,no clue of anything or so it seems. If this comes up on a comparison website as the cheapest totally avoid,they change the price and try to scam you for more. My money wasn't good enough for them apparently.
