United Kingdom | 03 November 2022Be careful and read the details on your confirmation. Booked Royal Viking, up-graded to Suits, all inclusive etc. I was crystal clear with the sales girl that I didn’t want any extra costs whilst away so all inclusive needs to mean all inclusive. We did a stop over in Cairo to do the Pyramids etc which was fab. Egyptair was fine in Business Class and used the American Airlines lounge at Heathrow-Fab but in Egypt itself don’t expect any lounge or frills, Luxor Airport a shocker. Prior to travel I challenged the wording on our invoice but EE said ‘ignore that- all is good and you are all inclusive’ my mistake for not pushing back and insisting on a re worded invoice. So, all good to Luxor, met by the ‘MeetingPoint’ rep and taken to the RV ship. First impressions a bit ropey, not an immaculate Cruise Ship, exterior was weathered and needed re painting, the mooring area a bit rustic. Met by Abdu our on board Egyptologist who was fab and proved himself to be a hero through the trip. Checked in, went to rooms, nice rooms for a river boat but didn’t appear suite-like. Checked at reception and confirmed they booked us in to standard rooms. 2 hours later, lots of stress, other passengers getting kicked out of our rooms etc we moved rooms, no help from the boat. Then I enquired about our welcome pack and amenity like fruit basket, wine, stocked mini bar and so on. Yet more dispute that we were now apparently all inclusive and not Ultra AA. So despite EE assurances that we were all in, we weren’t. Dispute our paperwork clearly stating all the extras the boat didn’t concur. Admin at EE basically ignored us and continue to ignore us now we are back, all sick with Egypt viruses but that’s another issue. Wouldn’t touch EE with a barge pole, they spoilt our very expensive one-off experience to Egypt.

United Kingdom | 25 October 2022We have been using this company for years for our winter holidays to Egypt. We usually book with Dave and he is always very helpful. When you get to Egypt the local reps from Egypt escapes cannot do enough for you. We usually stay at the sunrise romance in Hurghada with lots of celebrities but this year we have booked for the Xperiance sea breeze in sharm for a change. I would highly recommend David and this company.

United Kingdom | 21 October 2022Adrian was very helpful and pleasant as we made our decisions about what we would like from our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he spent a good deal of time on the phone with us, discussing our requirements. At no point did we feel pressured into buying something we didn't want and he was excellent at exploring options for us. Can't wait to be on this holiday...and if the rest of the service is as professional as this, I'm confident that we'll be in good hands.

United Kingdom | 19 October 2022Cannot begin to explain how shocking this company is to deal with. We booked a 2 week holiday to Hurghada + a Nile Cruise with egypt escapes. Our invoice clearly states that for the nile cruise portion of our trip we had an ultra inclusive package. Upon arrival we had to argue (12 of us, 3 separate bookings) with our tour guide and the crew onboard that we had the ultra all inclusive package. The crew and the tour guide refused to accept this. We have spent hours on the phone and sending emails to egypt escapes to sort this issue while onboard (taking time away from our holiday) and egypt escapes have been useless in helping. They refuse to honour the ultra inclusive package, despite the fact that it is clearly stated on the documentation egypt escapes have sent us (page 8 of our invoice). Nothing but rude and unhelpful staff over the phone. Alistair, Joe (Joan?) and Martin Brown (salesman - who was very 'generous' with his descriptions of the holiday package). We were told to 'stop complaining' and that egypt escapes would not honour what they sent us in writing. Other things worth mentioning - We were told for every night at the Labranda resort in Hurghada we would be able to choose any a la carte restaurant for dinner. This is not true, we were only able to do this once per stay, not every night. The 'luxurious' hotel Barcelo in Cairo we were sold was filthy. (We changed rooms and it was still filthy, and bonus our new room was directly above a nightclub). Promised private transport everywhere. Actually had to cram ourselves into a small car to get to the airport (arranged by egypt escapes) and took a packed bus from Hurghada to Luxor (4 hrs). Of course none of this was mentioned at the time. No mention that during the cruise (Royal Viking) we would actually be in port for 4 days out of the 7, and jammed in between other boats, so there was no view out of the cabin window. Also on the cruise diesel fumes worked their way into multiple cabins, and so they stank of diesel. Also have to pay for WiFi on board. I would not recommend booking anything through this company. We have emails and phone recordings documenting all of this. We have brought all of this to the attention of egypt escapes and they don't want to hear it.

United Kingdom | 03 October 2022We went with Egypt escapes at Christmas and had a lovely time. We stayed in Hurghada for 4 nights at the desert rose resort which is fab. A very big hotel with lovely private sandy beach and the hotel reef was exceptional and abundant with marine life of all colours. There is a lagoon which is shallow for less confident swimmers kids etc too. Then we did a nile cruise from Luxor which is just amazing. All the history that you see on the way is way better than we ever expected. After that we fly to Cairo for a day trip to see the pyramids and museum which was an experience of a lifetime. Then we flew back to Hurghada for our last 3 nights staying at the Caribbean world in soma bay. This hotel is good too. The beach is bigger and has water slides although the reef is more dull with less life. Really look forward to going back! Would do it all again!

United Kingdom | 02 October 2022Where do I start.. Sea star beau rivage not a 4 or 5 star hotel that's for sure! This is a local Egyptian hotel, not European at all.its tired at best...rooms are filthy (have many pictures) Meal times was a joke, the local Egyptian women would practically fight over the food, always que jump causing many arguments..half hour wait for food was nothing strange.. Worst of all food was not hot..it was lukewarm at best..that's probably why we all have bacterial infections!!....rep Muhammad was keen to praise the onsite doctor, until we said we were ill. Then he insisted we went over the road to the chemist!..seems to me he didn't want the illness registered! The women were all in traditional Muslim dress which made everyone feel uncomfortable! Now for the EMILLIO! DO NOT USE THIS SHIP! 1.no emergency drills at all 2.engine room door always open throwing fumes into cabin corridor. 3. Only 3 days sailing..4 days spent docked between 2 other ships so at midday our cabin was dark. Couldn't open windows because of fumes.. 4. Cabins dirty 5 forced to pay £54 English to cover tips onboard...but that's not true, they still expected tipping..if you didn't tip they would ignore you! 6..the restaurant..food always cold and lots of people became ill.. 7..pool area looks clean until water spills over, then you can see how filthy the floors are..never cleaned once to my knowledge! 8..trips were good however, they were just money making exercises for the "archaeologists " who were making 20%off the top of our purchases in commission.. I have many many pictures to prove every word I'm saying! I've never been so disappointed..save your money UPDATE.......4TH NOV 23 Well I was asked by the company to submit a formal complaint letter.. Which I did a month ago, and now I don't seem to be able to get a response... One of our party had to go to the doctors within the first few days of getting home...the doctor confirmed it was food poisoning.. He has only just returned to normal..... I cannot recommend the the ms EMILLIO ship or the hotel offered...go to another company!

United Kingdom | 13 July 2022I have just spoken to Raj and explained I would like to take advantage of there advertised offer of 7nights at the Mercure Luxor Karnak hotel ( which at present is permanently closed) and the seven nights cruise full board for £899.00 and I don't mind when we go.(2 persons). We established that all their adverised holidays at the prices shown were fully booked. He offered the same dates 9th-23rd January 2023 staying at the Sonesta St George hotel which is a similar hotel on a B &B board basis for £2627.00 and this is without a cruise.I have stayed at both hotels in the past and lived in Luxor. I think they need to look at their advertising and pricing structures.

United Kingdom | 26 February 2021We travelled to Egypt with Egypt Escapes in January 2020 and it was excellent in every respect. The representative of the company on the phone before we left was knowledgeable and efficient. All connections were were well organized and the transport arrangements went very smoothly. Our hotel in Hurghada, Caribbean World Soma Bay was fantastic, with spacious comfortable rooms, super bathroom, lovely landscaped grounds, several large pools (one large heated one) and a beautiful sandy beach. The restaurants were all excellent with an extensive range of tasty options for all meals. Our six night stay there was really relaxing and we took a couple of very inexpensive excursions too. We transferred by comfortable coach to Luxor to the MS Emilio which again was very comfortable. Of course menus were a little more limited but there was a good selection (meat, fish and vegetarian dishes every day, and food was tasty and varied). We paid for the excursions in advance and this was incredibly good value. Our guide was so knowledgeable and had a wonderful manner and we visited so many fascinating places,, never hurried and never tedious. We made good friends with other people on board too. It was just brilliant. We stayed one night at Jasmine Palace Hurghada on our return which was, again, very comfortable. The trip was excellent overall, with wonderful warm weather (low 20° s and sunny) and absolutely amazing value for money. We would certainly consider going again, and would recommend the holiday very highly.

United Kingdom | 04 May 2020Nile Cruise booked through Egypt Escapes (You Travel Group). Changed hotel the week before we left due to reviews ststing that the hotel we were booked into had rats, poor sanitation and food poisoning issues which we pointed out to the travel company and yet still had to pay over £200 to secure a different hotel as they sad they hadn't heard anything about the issues. Joined folk on the cruise boat who came from that hotel and all of them were ill or had experienced rats or poor food hygiene. Pointed this out to the travel company at our first opportunity and they didn't want to know as the holiday was over and they had our money. M-S Emilio boat was like something out of Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile and if it hadn't been for the superb tour guide we would have been very disappointed. Many very early starts 04.30 am but worth it. Boat was functional but somewhat in need of TLC. Tips were supposed to be paid upfront on the first day but throughout we were hounded by non-boat staff looking for money even grabbing your suitcase off the bus and the only way to get it back was to pay them. Don't leave the boat to go exploring alone as it is not safe to do so. Armed guards at the dock gates at night demonstrate the need to remain on board. Left the boat early on the last day and got dropped at a hotel to await onward airport transfer but the all inclusive part did not apply to this hotel so we had a long wait and had to pay for everything and this was not mentioned on the trip itinerary. Did not go to Egypt expecting luxury but did expect hygienic accommodation and to get what we paid a fair bit for. You Travel not interested in addressing these problems - just told us our expectations were too high and that they were sorry.
