Do NOT use this service. They told me in the beginning on the phone not a dime over 4,700 to move from MN to AZ, I thought that was a fair price so I went with them. So I had to put 2,300 down, pay 1,200 when the moving company (cobra van lines) picked up my stuff and 1,200 when they dropped it off in AZ. When the moving company came, they said my furniture was bigger than expected and we added one small table to the list. Being that they charged by the cubic foot in the truck, they upped the price from 1,200 to 2,500 on pick up and 2,500 on drop off. They had our stuff loaded and we had nobody else, so said screw it and proceed. A couple of days before they got to AZ, they called and said they had to switch all of our stuff to a smaller trailer because the bigger one wouldn’t be able to get around in the storage units roads, BAM, that will be an extra 900 dollars. SO, what started out as 4,600 in the beginning to Amerisafe and their moving company they hired Cobra Van Lines, ended up being over 8,000. They charge you for everything, STAY AWAY. I would have given them 0 stars, but they wouldn’t let me.

The two adjectives for them would be efficient and professional, and they were really great at what they did. Much to my happiness, they provided an excellent service.

I’m hoping people are reading this BEFORE signing a contract with Amerisafe. RUN away now and don’t look back! This is a scam and turned our move into a complete nightmare! The number one thing I didn’t realize was that they are a broker. Not a moving company. They advertise as a moving company. They are not. They can contract your move to ANY moving company they want and you will have no say in it. In my case they contracted Five Diamond Movers in Las Vegas for our move from AZ to SD. As soon as I was made aware of who they hired to do the move I looked them up and saw the worst reviews I ever saw! I immediately called Colin at Amerisafe (who was quick to take my money but was useless after that) and he dismissed my concerns all together. At that point I was stuck and hoped for the best. At time of booking I confirmed that the delivery could be received the week of July 20th, Colin said that wouldn’t be an issue. July 20th came and went and each time I called to get an update on the delivery I was told they’d be leaving Las Vegas “within 24 hours”. Each time turned out to be a blatant lie. I called Colin, who then began ignoring all my calls and emails, so I got another Amerisafe rep named Chris. Another one who blatantly lied about delivery options and then denied he ever said that when called out on it. The movers finally arrived on August 3rd. One mover. He informed my son that the helper (hired off Craigslist) would be arriving by noon. Never showed up. My son called Five Diamond Movers and asked what could be done about this. My son was willing to help empty the truck but we wanted compensation. At least the amount that they were going to pay the Craigslist helper! He shouldn’t be required to do the work that we paid for! Five Diamond refused to compensate us so I called Amerisafe They were USELESS. They said “nothing they could do if the helper didn’t show up”. No sympathy. No compensation from them either. How did either company think that one mover could carry a couch up the three flights of stairs by himself?!! We were afraid they’d leave with his stuff so my son assisted just to get his stuff out of their possession. If Amerisafe wants to contract with the worst companies then they have to expect bad reviews. This is a clear reflection on them! The estimate they give at time of booking is a joke. The moving company can dispute it as being too low and raise it AFTER your stuff is loaded into the truck! Which happened with us. In that case you have no choice but to agree to it. The stuff is being held hostage at that point! I will be reporting Amerisafe to the BBB. They need to be held accountable for this horrible experience. And reading the other reviews I see I’m not the only one! Don’t be the next victim of their scam business. THEY OFFERED ME $300 TO CHANGE MY REVIEW ON CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THEY ASKED THAT I CHANGE MY ONE STAR REVIEW TO 4 STARS! I HAVE THE RECEIPT TO PROVE IT! THIS EXPLAINS WHY THEY HAVE HIGH STAR REVIEWS! S-C-A-M!!

This was the worst move EVER! It turned out to be a nightmare. Every single person I dealt with at Amerisafe was rude and disrespectful. The agent who handled my quote, provided information in writing that was not company's policy. Per the contract/quote, they required a 25% deposit but requested more than the 25% from me. When I questioned that, no one responded. I was also told by the same agent, the remaining balance was due upon delivery as my move was under 300 miles. My move was exactly 239 miles. Every agent I spoke to prior to the move said that was incorrect and they do not know why the agent told me that which was also confirmed in an email. The company they secured to perform the actual move, Ocean Moving Inc, damaged my television and bed frame. I've tried calling Amerisafe and even sent an email, but it's been crickets on their end. I have not received copies of all the documents signed with the Ocean Moving. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS BROKER! I WAS WARNED ABOUT THEM AFTER I MADE MY DEPOSIT! NEVER AGAIN!
