Madeleine did an excellent organization of our trip Last March!!! No problems with flights, hotels and transportation. Our itinerary allowed us to visit some spectacular UNESCO HERITAGE sites and taste the rural India. Sanjay, our driver, was a gentleman: he was very polite and we felt very safe in his hands. The choice of hotels was perfect !!! Very well organized overall, we enjoyed the trip !!!

We had just under a month to pull together our trip to India, through Rajasthan! Upon getting in touch with Indian Excursions everything came together in a way we couldn't have anticipated. Madeleine was amazing, super helpful and accomodating throughout the planning process. Once we landed we were incredibly well looked after the entire trip! Everything was spot on from our driver, to accommodation, to suggested dinner spots! I would strongly recommend them to friends and family, making your trip to India a positive experience to hold onto for many years to come.

In February, we traveled in Rajasthan on a trip arranged by Indian Excursions. We recommend them without any hesitation. Before finding them on the internet we had spoken with a number of the large, better-known travel companies about a similar itinerary. Indian Excursions put together the same quality itinerary (first-class hotels, guides, van, driver, intercity transportation) at a substantially lower price. No price can be put, however, on the quality of the individualized attention which it provided in planning our trip and making sure that everything went as promised. We have never dealt with a professional as responsive and knowledgeable in her field as Madeleine Hann, their trip planner. She spent considerable time and effort putting together an itinerary for us even before we agreed to use their services. She always responded promptly and thoughtfully to our questions and concerns, no matter how minor. That care and attention continued until we left for India. They sent us copies of our tickets, hotel vouchers and notes on what to expect. It further continued throughout the trip. While in every location there were company representatives who handled local arrangements (picked us up at the airport, checked us in at hotels, etc.), Madeleine and Shiv Gurjar, her partner, remained in contact by e-mail and phone to make sure everything was going well. They made reservations at restaurants, ensured that the drivers and guides met us at the agreed times, and made suggestions when we wanted to vary the schedule. We thought the guides and drivers in each city were excellent. We became very fond of our driver, Gandhi, who was with us for most of the trip. He was considerate, responsible and easy to be with. In short, everything they said they would do, they did. Any concern we raised they did their best to address and invariably succeeded. A final note as to their professionalism and business ethics: We had arranged and paid for the trip a year ago but had to cancel at the last minute for work reasons. While they were contractually entitled to keep what we had paid, they obtained refunds from the hotels, returning most of what we had paid and agreed to credit the deposit if we rebooked. A small incident which we think speaks volumes about them took place when we arrived at the airport in Agra. Their representative met us just outside the exit and told us that, contrary to the usual practice, we would have to take a shuttle to where the van could pick us up with our luggage. Unsolicited, he gave us the money to pay for the shuttle.

I wasn't sure what to expect when we travelled to India this February. Having never been before, I knew there was certain things I wanted to experience, but found it too overwhelming to organise from Australia. Enter Madeleine and her incredible team at Indian Excursions. They pulled together a 12-day itinerary for four of us through Rajasthan, with some of the most beautiful hotels and memorable experiences I've ever had. Every tiny detail was taken care of, nothing was left to chance, and because of this our trip was seamless. We had a new guide in every city, and every single one was prompt, organised, knowledgeable and very happy to take our requests and alter the day's activities accordingly. (there's sometimes only so many forts you can see!) Madeleine even organised our driver and internal flights which made it so much easier and less stressful. All we had to do was wake up every morning, and then our day was laid out for us. The most difficult decision was usually where to have lunch! (although the guides always had the hottest inside tips). We had also requested lots of free time to explore the towns as well as enjoy the amazing pools every hotel had, and we struck the perfect balance. Our driver and his assistant were so friendly and always there to help. Madeleine and Shiv were also available throughout the entire trip for us, answering our questions along the way, no matter how small. I cannot recommend Indian Excursions highly enough. As we've posted photos of the trip on social media, so many people have requested my itinerary, and I'll be sending them all straight to Madeleine! Cannot wait to head back to India in the near future, thanks again guys for a truly special experience. 🙏

I had a wonderful trip with Indian Excursions last October/Nov. Madeleine did a fab job designing my trip with my input and Shiv handled everything on the ground perfectly. As I was traveling on my own, feeling secure was important to me and I always felt completely safe. I saw so many amazing things and stayed in beautiful lodging. Absolutely superb and memorable holiday. Everything went like clockwork, thanks to your hard work and attention to detail. Everyone was so helpful, it would be invidious to single out anyone - except our driver, Prem, whose handling of Indian traffic was unbelievable! Shiv kept in touch, but nothing went wrong. My wife and I toured Rajasthan.We completely outsourced the organisation to Indian excursions who developed a thoughtful and varied luxury itenary.With the exception of jodphur The hotels were all superb especially the oberois. I was sceptical about a common driver and new guide in each city but the model worked well.Key is a great driver and madan was outstanding...a frustrated tour guide Inevitably a few minor issues arose but Madeline and shiv resolved them without fuss We received very detailed itenaries before the trip and clear outline of what to expect My only advice is to be careful around lunch on the road ....not very western and sometimes confronting I have no hesitation in recommending them

To have a complete 5 star experience from booking to going back home, you have to go with Indian Excursions co. We went as a family of 4 (2 kids) and we loved it all the way. Booking and creation the trip went very smooth. I could ask anything and got a quick reply. Every wish was fulfilled from henna painting on the hands to finding us a good guide. Arriving in India, we were welcomed and also at every stop. At arrival at different cities we got an explanation what the plans were going to be. We could still adjust it there and then. The guides let us go freely on our own too. It was a great combination of having the team taking care of us while we were still traveling on our own. We will use this team again next year to discover another part of India.

My sisters and I have just spent 10 days in Rajasthan organised by Madeleine and Shiv. I thoroughly recommend Indian Excursions as our trip was so well organised right to the minute details. We booked our holiday through Indian Excursions on recommendation from friends who used them 2 years ago. We went to 6 places and on each stop we were met by a rep and a guide. All the reps were helpful, the drivers amazing (Indian traffic is chaotic) and the guides really interesting. We had 2 cookery lessons, one in a family home and the other in a hotel restaurant- a really good idea if you like Indian cookery. I can't find fault with the company, from the help they gave us in planning our itinerary to the day to day support whilst in India including providing us with an Indian phone for the duration of our stay - perfect!

My wife and I recently returned from a tour of Rajasthan with Indian Excursions. The trip itself was wonderful with many memorable sites and experiences. Indian Excursions and their principals Maddie and Shiv are based in Delhi and know the region intimately. I understand they limit themselves to 12 clients at any time which allows them to give their full attention to both the planning (Maddie) and running (Shiv) of their tours. While we visited the well known forts, palaces and other attractions in the major towns, Maddie also recommended some less well known locations which were invariably outstanding. Drinks at sunset in a wonderfully restored balcony/ bar at the top level of the Raas Delvigarh fortress/ palace, about 20 km from the City Palace at Udaipur. ---memorable!! The hotels recommended--a mix of Oberois, Raas and boutique heritage hotels and camps, were special. Our driver was both knowledgeable, friendly and totally reliable. The various day guides were excellent and happy to share their extensive knowledge of the history and culture of each region. The tour was superbly organised and everything worked as planned, which so often just doesn't happen, particularly in third world countries. It was our experience the air pollution in Delhi this year was considerably worse in early January than later in the month. Tourist numbers were however generally quite moderate, for us a huge plus. Our suggestion would therefore be if visiting in the second half of January and flying in and out of Delhi, if possible, minimize the time spent there on arrival. I don't think I have ever given a travel review such as this without mentioning a couple of negatives. In this instance there were none. It was flawless.10/10. John

Beautifully designed and well excecuted. Great service from drivers, guides and representatives, we felt secure and enjoyed our excursions tremendously.

From the moment we planned the trip all the way through till the end it went as smoothly as we had hoped. Our guide Mr. Singh was amazing, insightful and we had a very rwlaxed tour of our first taste of India. He had also recommended really great restaurants for us to eat at. And seeing that it was a birthday trip, it has been nothing short of magical. Even the drive from Delhi to Agra to Jaipur was smooth and very comfortable. The 5 hotels we chose to stay in (the Oberoi) gave us 6 star services and it rates as one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The drivers were courteous, we spent our time leisurely exploring, doing a bit of shopping and just whatever took our fancy. We loved our guide as he wasn’t pushy and kind of went with what we wanted. Overall I would highly (and have) recommend Indian Excursions and please ask for our guide. Mr. Singh.(who has in-depth knowledge not just about the country but also the food!- we have taken home a lot of recipes from him!) My wife, mum and mother in law had the best birthday present from this trip to cherish forever.

Our 12 day tour from Delhi was very well organised by Madeleine. We were travelling with our 2 young daughters and wanted a trip they would find memorable as well. Madeleine helped to create that for us by incorporating some specific child friendly activities - which we also enjoyed - the elephants at Dera Amer , puppet making in Jodhpur and hotels with pools. We were impressed with the standard of accommodation throughout. We stayed in a variety of accommodation types including a homestay in Agra which was a lovely experience. Our driver Sanjeev was great, we were impressed with his ability and skill in manoeuvring around the many crazy roads which meant we were able to relax with the knowledge that we would get to our destination in one piece. The transport was spacious, clean and comfortable with great wifi! We really appreciated Madeleine being able to seamlessly tie in our Rajasthan trip with the rest of our stay in India so Sanjeev was able to safely drop us off to Kutch in Gujarat where we were meeting family. There were quite a few long drives but with so much to see on the way it flew by. The local guides in Agra, Ranthambore and Udaipur were particularly good, knowledgeable and very personable too. We got to know about Indian Excursions through a recommendation from a friend and we would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of travelling to Rajasthan.
