We had two and a half weeks travelling from Delhi to Jaisalmer via Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur in January 2108. Maddie’s advice and planning was truly something we could not imagine managing without - indeed we met people on our travels struggling with the intensity of their self-planned itineraries. Rajasthan is a big place and it would be so easy to make a mess of what ought to be a trip of anyone’s lifetime. And once we got there everything ran completely like clockwork! I’m mean absolutely everything happened exactly as advertised. It was a marvellous demonstration of good planning and execution let with great charm by Shiv. We had Sanjay the gentle giant as our driver for the entire trip bar one day, and we found him to not only be a highly skilled driver but also a really nice man. It feels like we have been away for far longer than we were, always a good sign. We saw everything we wanted to and there were plenty of surprises too. All the hotels we planned with Maudie were absolutely fine and 80% were just fabulous. India is not the easiest for completely independent travel within a defined timeframe.When we return to this remarkable country we will not entertain for a nano-second doing so without these guys planning and providing the infrastructure. We wish them every future success. We were very impressed - and we ain’t easily impressed!

Brilliant experience. Madeline was a pleasure to deal with, endlessly patient with thoughtful suggestions for our trip with three teenage boys. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! Brian and I had the most amazing trip imaginable. On the practical side of things, I don't know that it could have gone any smoother. I've never had to stress less over travel abroad. We were welcomed and supported through every leg of our journey. On the adventure side of things, we couldn't have planned better! Our guides were fantastic and knowledgeable, every single one. Our activities were wonderfully paced and we had plenty of time at each location. We saw a few old favorites, Agra Fort and Taj Mahal of course, but the new places were fantastic! We were both reluctant over Fatephur Sikri but it ended up being one of the highlights. While nothing was a low moment, we both feel that Jaipur was our new favorite city, perhaps because we could spend so much time there. Of course, for me, Dera Amer was the most moving part of the trip and the best part is that Brian was just as enchanted, unexpectedly. Truly, the best part of the whole experience was our driver, D. Having the same driver the entire time was a big bonus, but D made the experience pleasurable, safe, and interesting. He was able to give us interesting information during our long drives and he was friendly to talk with all the time. Brian and I both feel that our experience was made perfect by his presence. Our accommodations were spectacular! Each room was so different and special, we are spoiled for regular life and travel at this point.

The very personalised service provided by both Madeleine and Shiv make comparisons with the usual top travel agents unfair! We were looked after superbly from start to finish, our itinerary was developed personally to suit our wishes, and its implementation was second to none. The transport within India during our visit was at the top end of high quality and the driver assigned to us was wonderful. We enjoyed 10 continuous days on the road with him and so thoroughly enjoyed his company and his driving; we would very much want to do our next trip with him again! What a wonderful experience we had on our recent trip to India visiting Delhi, Jaipur and Agra this was made more memorable by the staff of Indian Excursions from the moment Madeleine was contacted she could not do enough to arrange a wonderful itinerary. We were meet at the airport in Delhi by Shiv who had waited in the early hours of the morning to greet and welcome us to India he introduced us to our driver and assistant and helped us check in at the hotel which was much appreciated as we were all exhausted at that stage as we had travelled from Dublin Ireland A few hours later still morning once again Shiv was there to introduce us to our guide for the week Pushpendra Singh who is one of the most enthusiastic persons I have meet sharing his wonderful knowledge of India their culture and history. The safari organized by Madeleine and Shiv was spectacular. After my initial conversation with Shiv, I knew Indian Excursions was the company for my 4 day Safari. Working with Madeleine on the itinerary and all of the details was a pure pleasure. Thank you Madeleine for guiding me through the experience with your lovely, professional and knowledgeable manner. The Safari tracking guide and driver were excellent and we had 7 tiger sightings as well as a sloth bear in two private half day drives. Staying at Khem Villas in Ranthambore was the perfect setting for a woman traveling alone. The quietude and beauty, the staff, the masala chai and delicious food, the guests sitting around the fire pit in the evenings sipping drinks and eating appetizers made for the most wonderful stay. If you are planning a trip to India, we highly recommend Indian Excursions. Madeleine was very responsive both via phone and email. She tailored the package to our needs and interests and gave helpful advice in case of questions (we definitively wanted to see Tigers, so she recommended the ideal NP, which was Ranthambore NP) . The documentation you receive from them is perfect and answers many of your questions even before arriving in India. The pick-up at the airport from Shiv and our driver Madan was very cordial and this is the moment you can sit back, enjoy and relax, because they do everything for you and take care about everything. This was our first trip to India and what an amazing experience it was! We worked with Madeleine on our dream itinerary. We flew from California and began our journey in Delhi. From there we traveled by car to Agra, Rathambhore, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur. We then flew to Goa and onto Mumbai. Madan was our driver from Delhi to Udaipur, He made sure we were comfortable, always had cold water during our drives and each time we got back in the car after visiting the sites. We had knowledgeable guides assigned to us at every location. We also had a driver and guide assigned to us each day in Goa and Mumbai. A representative met us at every airport upon arrival and departure, also at every hotel upon arrival and departure. The representative coordinated with the driver and various guides to make sure all bases were covered. Our driver was also available to take us to restaursnts of our choosing each evening. We took trains a couple of times for a change of pace, but our driver delivered our luggage directly to the hotel so we would not have to deal with it. Madeleine let us know that our daily itinerary was always flexible. The Taj Mahal in Agra, tiger safari in Rathambhore and a cooking class with a delightful family in Udaipur were just a few of the highlights of our 20 day journey. Shiv, Madeleine’s partner checked in with us each day via cell phone while we were on the road to make sure all was going well. In summary we want to say that this was a fantastic ‘bucket list’ trip for us and Indian Excursion Co made sure each aspect was flawless from the planning to the end. We celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday in the midst of our trip and each hotel surprised him with cake, balloons, rose petals in the bathtiub and many personal acknowledgements from hotel staff. Dear Madeleine, Although we aren’t quite finished our trip, this afternoon we have a little free time and I wanted to tell you what a marvellous trip it has been. Indian Excursions logistics need special mention with Mahendra, India’s best driver. Always seeing the gap in the traffic, always patiently waiting by the car on our return, always opening the door for one. Being a driver I am not used to being a passenger and being a back seat driver is Robyn and my default position, however the confidence Mahendra instilled in us both made watching the road an option rather than a necessity. The guides were all very good with an average rating of 8.5/10. Even going to the trouble of finding an outlet to find items we needed and not giving up when two calls still hadn’t found something. Lastly your man on the ground in every city were always there punctually to see us on our way. The “man” in Udaipur needs a medal as I insisted that after he dropped us at the airport he should go home/ back to work, he was just as adamant that he would stay the 1.5 hours. We were on the inside in the passenger lounge, and he on the outside. We sat there patiently waiting for the gate number to appear on the board, we waited to no avail. Suddenly another employee of that office on the “inside” appeared, introduced himself and asked for our passports and e tickets and went and fascilitated our departure. The gate number didn’t ever appear and had it not been for your man on the outside overlooking our safe departure we would still be there. My husband and I travelled with our 12-year old son on a one-week Rajasthan trip organized by Indian Excursions and everything was not only perfectly planned and executed but well above expectations. I recently completed an 8 day customized solo (female) tour of New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, and Udaipur. Madeleine and Shiv lived up to all their outstanding reviews and all went extremely well from the moment I was picked up at airport in New Delhi. In spite of the at times overwhelming cultural overload not to mention heat, traffic, and varying degrees of language skills encountered I was very impressed with their ability to negotiate all setbacks or travel arrangements with speedy aplomb. 5 star Hotels were all as described and I would recommend visiting these hotels as part of the cultural experience of visiting India.

We recently visited India and we chose Indian Excursions Co to organise our trip. While organising the tour they had time for us to retailor our trip again and again until finding the circuit that suited us the most. During the trip we always had direct contact with the main office even if we did not use it as everything run very smoothly! We were always welcomed by a representative in each city and then accompanied by a guide! So the only thing we had to do is to enjoy!
