‘Will review’ warning If you think you’re going for a will review, do your homework beforehand as this is probably an opportunity to sell POA and since you’re at their office, there’s no cooling off period. I went with my elderly father who was expecting to look at the will (he’s hard of hearing and would have agreed to anything on the phone when the solicitor called him). Probably a good reason to have a POA but would have liked to think about it for a few days first. £562 for one POA.

Today I received a telephone call from someone claiming to be from Graysons Solicitors in Sheffield. They would not tell me the reason for the call unless I confirmed my date of birth. Naturally I did not give this information and asked that they write to me if they needed anything but I did call Grayson’s office afterwards to ask if the telephone number was recognisable to them. I was flabbergasted when the lady told me that “it was probably legitimate and that it will have been their marketing department as they will have recognised that you have a will with us” I don’t have a Will with them! These calls should not be permitted. A word of advice, do not give out your personal details to any cold callers particularly to Graysons! If they call again asking for private information I shall report them to the solicitors regulation authority.
