Used Chartwell 3 times now, first 2 times were fine but the most recent time (3rd) was terrible. Got my information wrong even after two discussions, and so provided wrong quotes, had to do a lot of chasing to check on progress. The quotes on prices for everything exceeded brokers estimations eg solicitors, Help To Buy, RICs costs, then the remortgage deal changed after signing first set of paperwork (the illustration). It was quite clear the broker had a lot of business and was rushing. It would have been fine if they told me they were too busy for me as their customer then I would have found a different broker rather than to correct and chase them several times.

If Carlsberg did Mortgage Brokers then it would be Chartwell Funding. As a customer we seek reassurance and Chartwell Finding does this extremely well. They might not always have an answer or an update but you always feel confident they are all over it. You may be one of many customers but Chartwell Funding always endeavour to make you feel valued. Initially found our telephone conversation rude with the advisor, nothing worth noting too much just a few comments that concerned me and my partner. He then spoke to my partner, who advised we would not be looking to use him for our mortgage as we had a better option from another broker to which his response was "good luck" and abruptly ended the call. Very bad customer service
