I like the Abundance target market from an ethical standpoint. The returns are reasonable although perhaps a bit too long-term for some people. I would like to see more...

Approval of investment from overseas took a long time, which meant that I missed out on the offer which I first wanted to subscribe to. There was also a very long period for which no offers were open, so the trading market became poor value. However, these have been relatively minor hitches -- I'm still an Abundance investor and will continue to look at further offers as they open.

Clear and straightforward. A good addition to your portfolio. Solid returns. Exciting new, and necessary, investments in clean energy for the future.

For what I wanted excellent, and fills a longstanding need. If people don't understand risk and the need for a balanced portfolio it won't be Abundance's fault - it is all crystal clear. What is somewhat less well presented is the predicted returns. I can do sums and read small print, but I got the odd minor surprise at the cash arriving back in the account until I redid my calculations. I would be very easy, and involve little coding, to produce a graphic and a table in a simple standard format for all investments showing exactly what incoming payments there will be (if all is well) through the course of the deal for the investment you are proposing, including capital repayment and interest. Most investors using an ISA will want to plan using cash flow - all the usual caveats about performance can be added to the graphic as well. The marketplace is nothing short of brilliant.

Abundance have completely streamlined the process of discovering and researching green energy projects to invest in. The marketplace is a great place to buy smaller chunks of different projects, which helps to diversify your portfolio. And wrapping your investments in an innovative finance ISA is a great way to save tax on your investments. Highly recommended for investors looking for green energy investments, providing you understand the risks.

In theory a great idea. However: (a) Not happy that Abundance took away the offer of 2% interest on holding account for July. (b) Not enough investment opportunities at present.

Very easy to use. Clear information about the projects seeking funding. It's so easy that it might lead to over enthusiasm and taking on more risk than might be wise! But until one of the projects they have included defaults it's hard to tell how likely that is. The Marketplace also works really well. Highly recommended for people who want to invest/save ethically and support the development of alternative energy while getting a good return and with their money accessible if needed.

A great way for investors who also support the environment to put some money (as little as £10) where their mouth is!

I have been investing with Abundance for a couple of years. Selecting investments is easy and interesting and the returns have been as predicted. Operating on the marketplace is a little frustrating, but mainly as a result of regulation - when I gave feedback about the market-place the team were very helpful and explained the situation.

If destroying the planet is wrong, then profiting from this destruction is also wrong.

As a customer of Abundance for a couple of years now I am delighted. Each one of the projects I have invested in has given me the return promised and in some cases up to 117%. So that means the money that would have otherwise been sitting dormant in my bank account getting less than 0.5% interest now equates to around 7% IRR on average. Not only that but these are REAL projects that add real social value, and thats what i love - why shouldnt i be getting a good return at the same time as investing in social good? That is why I am giving 5 stars, an incredible business that is exactly the kind of innovative business the UK should be showcasing more of.

An excellent service; very straightforward, a good website and some good projects to invest in. The only problem is that the platform is now becoming popular and projects get snapped up very quickly. Hardly enough time to read over the prospectus and consider the investment. Very good, personal service if there's complications or if you have questions. I highly recommend them.

I love the website and the fact that you get the opportunity to do a bit of good for the environment and world around us, whilst also earning a little interest in the process! Its great too that you can wrap it in an IFISA (tax free wrapper now). There's a good Secondary Market where you can buy and sell debentures too, which usually go for the more than the issue prices. The only criticism is that the deal flow seems a bit slow at the moment, in part I presume due to the Govt's action on feed-in tariffs (which seems a bizarre move in this day and age!), but hoping the nos of projects picks up again, as the year goes on. Perhaps to help this they could branch into new, related areas, such as Tidal schemes, environmentally friendly waste management, or even consider overseas projects etc etc...?!

Great investment projects with good follow up trading market. New investment opportunities sell up quick when they arrive. Wish there were more!

I'm excited about the concept of Abundance and find the website user friendly and the investment process straight forward. However I've been disappointed by the relatively small number of investment opportunties avaiable as it makes it difficult to create a balanced portfolio.

I am new to the Bond market, but experienced in other peer-to-peer platforms such as Zopa. Abundance appealed as it offers investments in green projects with decent returns. There have been absolutely no problems so far, and I have invested in three bonds - 1 long-term (17 years), 1 medium term, and 1 short-term. My only gripe is that compared with other peer-to-peer lenders, there are fewer companies to invest in. This is a problem because I can't really average the risk as much as I would like. This will probably stop me investing more with Abundance in future.
