The default for me to save was always to put my savings back into the bank and watch is slowly but steadily grow. However after the crash of 2008 I started to deeply question where my money was going, how it was being used and how the system could have gone so wrong - I decided that I do not want to be a part of that system any more. So I started looking for investments that I could understand and that if at least they did not help the planet that they wouldnt harm it or us. Since i discovered Abundance a few years ago I have invested in 7 different projects and enjoy seeing my interest accruing (better than it was in the bank!). But even more than that I love that if I feel like I can actually GO and visit the project I have invested in, I can touch the windwill and see the solar panels, in other words its real and that makes a world of difference to me.

Positives:- If you want to invest, earn a reasonable rate of return, with an acceptable level of risk, but use your money to reduce pollution; then Abundance is the answer. The process of investing via the Abundance website is fairly easy & information is accessible. In particular, the chap who answers customer's queries via email is excellent. Negatives:- I would like to take a long & detailed look at the investment accounts of each project, because I have the gut feeling that the initial investors of most projects are probably making a lot of money before they 'sell it on' through Abundance to the small retail investors like me. The early returns do not appear to be as advertised in their cash-flow forecasts. This concerns me. I hope the shortfalls will be made up in future years.

No complaints about Abundance, very easy process of investment. Over the years I have slowly built up the total amount invested without a hitch. Well done Abundance, other organisations would have made life more difficult.

Abundance gives me the chance to invest the small amount of money I avalbel in something I believe in and make good returns. You do not get many chances like that.

I really like the range of projects brought together under the Abundance umbrella and the straightforward process of investing in them. Abundance have helped me find a number of attractive projects to invest in and have offered exceptional customer support along the way.

Raymond Bradshaw. I like the certainty of investing with Abundance, as I indicated in the title of my review. The spread of investments is good but I would like to see some hydro and storage. That latter is bound to gain in importance as the amount of renewable energy grows. All in all investing in Abundance is a very positive experience.

Abundance is a great way to lend money to renewable energy projects. Their website is simple to use, and I have always found them efficient. They helpfully pull together the information you need for your tax return too.

I am happy to invest in something I beleive in. I am no IT wizard, but managed to work out how to use the website. So far we have always found it good as an investor. One thing however...I recently tried to contact u via your email as a FOE group thinking to set up a community energy project..but it bounced back.

Some alternative energy projects ask for share capital, with a very uncertain yield of dividends, and no clear repayment plan. Abundence offers a steady predictable return of capital, linked to an attractive yield that starts in the first complete year of the project. They also have a secondary market that seems to operate ok. So, you can feel involved with a project, or many, if you want, but have a steady flow of cash return. Only one of 10 projects I have invested in did have failed to get the project completely built, and then Abundence returned promptly a large slice of the invested funds

Since I started investing (November 13) in alternative energy I have used Abundance which investigates a company before it's bond is offered for anybody to invest in. The minimum investment is only £5!

Whether you want to keep up with inflation, turn a profit over a fixed term for your own benefit, or serially re-invest income to help those less fortunate, Abundance seems to me to be a good choice of investment platform. In about five years of investing through I've not been disappointed, using all investment income to re-invest, thereby to increase my portfolio. This use of my funds helps others and, because I'll not see the conclusion of most of my investments, my daughter should benefit when all energy leaves me. Based on my experience, I thoroughly recommend at least looking into the Abundance investment platform. Remember, though, that investment carries a risk of losing some or all of your funds.

Abundance Generation? Yes, it all started out promisingly enough, and I am fairly sure that my investments to date are secure, but where did all of those exciting projects that were once in the pipeline go? A number of them seem to be appearing on competitors' websites! There were once numerous wind projects to come and a weir based project. Now, one wind project seems to be in the offing, leaving investors with three somewhat stale solar projects. I hope that the company will be more proactive in the near future, in its quest for tidal, biomass and geothermal opportunities and not just rest on its laurels by offering SIPP and ISA. There must be funding opportunities in battery storage and building insulation, and in persuading small to medium sized companies, and farmers, to install solar panels on their rooves. The time has come to speed up, otherwise the competition will get too far ahead.

Nice idea and many of the projects wouldn't be here if it weren't for our (collective) investments. The returns are made clear beforehand and you should know roughly what you'll be getting back and when. However, Abundance rely on the various companies who run the renewable projects and sadly, some (a minority granted) of the investments don't run as smoothly as they should with problems springing up as to why investment returns aren't as high as expected. This can sour the whole 'experience'. One of the negatives of Abundance is that it's not too easy to sell underperforming investments as you rely on buyers wanting to buy. Do I recommend Abundance? It's a nice idea and many of the projects help poorer people install solar panels etc and give you a small return., with others run more as a business. I'd say Abundance is higher than average risk and whilst they as a company seem honourable, you rely on the renewable energy providers you invest in being just as honourable. Helps appease your green conscience, but just be careful.

I was waiting for something exactly like abundance, which would allow me to invest my own money in renewable energy. They offer a variety of different projects, which allows me to diversify my portfolio with them, but all offer a very good rate of return. In all my dealings with abundance, their customer service has been excellent. I have recommended the site to friends and family and my mother and a couple of friends now also have their own accounts. I realise this is starting to sound like I've been bunged some money to write this (!), but I really haven't been able to fault them so far. Looking forward to more projects in the future.
