It is great to feel that I am investing in the future of clean energy, and that I can decide for myself which projects to invest in rather than having them bundled in a package. My only worries are that the investments are really long term, not liquid and can go wrong. So it is really important that investors spread their risks over as many debentures as possible and understand that they cannot get their money back easily. We are also subject to the vagaries of government policy. The FITs could be withdrawn. So total investment in Abundance should not be more than the investor can afford to lose.

I have been unhappy with the current limited choice for pensions in the UK where you essentially have to invest in a broken system in order to get Government Tax Relief. The move to SIPPs and then for Abundance SIPPs moves away from the volatile environment where the US sneezes and the rest of us catch a cold. By directly investing in local schemes working with local needs and the use of sunlight and wind instead I feel very much better about my money having a real purpose for real people. Essex boys drinking champagne paid for from my money irrespective of performance versus hard working people getting the best from the world's natural resources ...... mmmh let me think about which I prefer for my future! Still not convinced - go see or read "The Big Short" and its predecessor "Liar's Poker"...... or pick up "Monkey with a Pin". None of the points raised in all 3 texts have been denied by the industry, why would you keep putting your money into it?

I have made several small scale investments with Abundance and have found the website very easy to deal with. Whenever I have had a question, I have got a speedy reply by email. I now have a SIPP with them and have found the communication and support in moving my pension really helpful. Slightly less impressed with the pension company itself, but whenever there has been a problem or query, Tom at Abundance has sorted things.
