United Kingdom | 05 August 2021New to buying a caravan, we trusted this dealership, seduced by the smarm, and bought a 3 year old Bailey Pegasus GT 65. At first service we found 90% damp ingress. When It was finally worked on, during and after lockdown, we were told that there had been previous poor repairs for water ingress. None of this was disclosed to us. We would have bought a different carvan if we knew! Advice, take a damp meter reader. I hope this helps to divert any other mugs from buying from Campbells!

United Kingdom | 24 July 2021We purchased a new Lunar caravan from this dealer in 2019. Ever since then after sales and inability to rectify issues with the caravan have persistently been failed or ignored. We were never told about the issue with Lunar going out of business when we purchased the caravan, being relatively new to caravanning perhaps we should have been, but the sale was obviously more important to them. The service department have had the opportunity to hide behind Covid restrictions for being “unable to assist currently,” although having approached another dealer, their service and communication has been first class. Only communication from Director level was after informing them I had spoken with my solicitor. At this point it was made clear the problem was mine and/or Lunars and there was little they could do to rectify the outstanding problems. Frankly, I’d had enough by this point, wasting time and effort and now take my business elsewhere as far as servicing is concerned. So many negative reviews should not be ignored and if anyone is considering purchasing a new, or used, caravan my strongest advice would be to go elsewhere.

United Kingdom | 21 July 2021Steer clear of this company! Read all the negative reviews before doing business with these people. We part exchanged our existing caravan on 8 July just gone (13 days since) taking the exchanged one straight back to a site we are staying on for the season. (The value of exchanged one being around £17000 plus an additional £259, trusting in their extended warrant). We then found the lengthy rooflight suspension rods (in the caravan) don't work making it extremely uncomfortable during this exceptionally hot spell. I attempted to ring Campbells numerous times, the day after exchange. But It's a waste of time trying to call them because you'll be fobbed of, a message asking you to email them. This I have done three times but as to date have not received a satisfactory reply to resolve what must be a fairly low cost item. I have noticed that the company's spokesman (I assume it's one of their directors) cherry picks the good ones, blows smoke up their ass and slags off the negative ones. And yes, I'll say it like it is. It's the second caravan we have bought from Campbells, I thought they were fairly reputable but today they are quite obviously making 'hay while the sun shines' on the back of massive sales during this pandemic. I will not be darkening their doors again! Be warned!

United Kingdom | 07 July 2021Changed our Swift Elegance to Coachman Laser 575 Xcel today at Campbells. We have bought around 15 new caravans from various dealers over the last 45 years and we have got to say that this sale and collection was the most stress free and efficient transactions we have experienced. We have read other negative reviews and do not recognise this those experiences. I note that most of the bad comments relate to Lunar Caravans ltd rather than Campbells. Anyone thinking of changing their van (or motorhome), don’t hesitate to give Campbells a go. D&P Moss

United Kingdom | 17 June 2021A big thanks to Mike and his staff who looked after us very well before, during and now after the purchase of our new caravan. From our experience there is a determined effort to ensure everything is perfect. Thanks again and best wishes.

United Kingdom | 14 June 2021My experience is the same as the previous post. I purchased my new Lunar caravan shortly after Lunar went into administration. Campbells induced me to go ahead with the purchase with an email promising that they themselves would cover all warranties irrespective of the situation with Lunar. They are now ignoring that promise and ignoring me as a customer. For me, their disregard for their customers and their own reputation suggests that they may be expecting to wind up their business shortly. Since there are at least several of us in the same situation, we have the possibility of joint legal action. I've just put a post on the Facebook Lunar Caravan Owners Club (it should appear shortly) on this for those who are interested. UPDATE 29/08/21: Citizens Advice website recommends a sequence of 3 formal letters. Campbells ignored the first 2. The third contains the formal wording that gives warning of court action without further notice. I got a phone call in response to that one and Campbells have provided me with MB&G Gold warranties to cover the expected warranty period. That is a satisfactory solution. Pity that Campbells made it so hard to get there over many months of emails, phone calls and then formal letters. Upgrading the stars from 1 to 2.

United Kingdom | 08 June 2021DO NOT BUY FROM CAMPBELLS CARAVANS..... THIS IS A DISREPUTABLE COMPANY WITHOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DO NOT HONOUR WRITTEN AGREEMENTS OR WARRANTIES. In 2019 my husband and I were in the process of buying a LUNAR ALARIA caravan from CAMPBELLS CARAVANS when they were notified that LUNAR was going into receivership or possibly being sold. We decided to pull out of the £34000.00 purchase. However, we were given assurity that CAMPBELLS would honour any warranties etc This is he only reason we continued with the purchase. We asked for this assurity in writing and CAMPBELLS CARAVANS AND MOTORHOMES agreed and reiterated that THEY would honour any warranty work. We obtained this document by email from Emily Holmes finance & Sales Admin on behalf of Daniel Campbell & Mike Barnes Directors and so felt comfortable in continuing with the purchase. However, today we have had cause to contact CAMPBELLS due to an issue with the automatic levelling system and have been informed by Trisha from the warranty department that CAMPBELLS WILL NOT be honouring this written agreement with us. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CUSTOM.... YOU WILL REGRET IT!

United Kingdom | 24 May 2021I came in looking to buy a new caravan on Wednesday the 19th. I had no preference as we wanted to look at what layouts they had and what we could have by waiting. I asked for help and began talking to someone for them to palm me off mid conversation to someone else by saying can you sort this. We was then told that these are the new ones and are all open to then just be left and given no help whatsoever. I have just drove over 70 miles to purchase a new caravan from someone else as wouldn’t ever give these a penny of my money. I’d suggest after reading other recent reviews that you stop denying things like this happen and actually sort the problem as we all can’t be wrong.

United Kingdom | 18 May 2021I will honestly say i have felt robbed. I placed faith in Campbell's and reserved a new caravan in lockdown. Communication was by email and phone to sales. I was honest and upfront about my van which was loved and serviced. I was offered a price for my van which I thought low at £7295 but dealers have to make a profit I understand. However day of exchange my van was found to have 2 areas of damp in floor and they reduced my van by a flat £1000... they also tried to say price of new van was more but i had reserved in lockdown at a lower price. I had to pay upfront 2 days before so they had already had my money and I was picking up my new one that day. Imagine my horror when i realised they sold mine in under a week for £1295! Phone call to salesman Mark resulted in him being rude and heated and to be told "we sell caravans thats what we do"! My new van has some niggles but i dont have faith in them now and after my experience. I wished Stuart longton did Bailey's as they are amazing to deal with and can't do enough for you. I'm sorry I bought from them. This was an experience that should have been better and customer service is sadly lacking. I have no idea of my warranty or guarantees with my new van I would say buyer beware. This has ruined my experience of buying a brand new van. By the way I bought 28th April and no detailed hand over at all.. it was an informative video sent to me they do no contact handover due to covid so earlier review from the greens i find incredible!

United Kingdom | 13 May 2021Avoid! Find a dealer that cares. They are quick to take your money but after receiving a brand-new motor home they become difficult to reach and reluctant to resolve issues. Effectively my dream is fast becoming a nightmare. Trading standards and courts will be next

United Kingdom | 09 May 20212 minutes agoNEW Turned up yesterday to look at Coachman caravans. We already have a Coachman caravan. We like it. The product is great. We are seriously considering a new one, spend in excess of 30k. Looked at several vans.. Admittedly 80% on the forecourt were sold but most were open. Sat in the one we liked the layout of the most discussing it. Salesman (or owner) marches across the yard and abrubtly tells us this is sold and holds the door open for us to get out. We both apologise and said we thought it was OK to view given the vans were open, and bearing in mind everything was plastic coated. 'NO!' he barked back at us. As we exited the van I thought his next move would be to ask us what we were interested in and have a polite discussion. Instead he marched off, left us standing there and we got in the car and drove off in a mood. If Coachman are reading this, we had left our kids with babysitters with the express aim yesterday of buying a caravan! Campbells could take a lesson from service at Preston Caravans down the road. I understand the caravan industry is having a hayday but be assured this peak will plateau and you may have to review your service and how you treat people. I thought something was up on arrival.. Lot of vans had flat tyres, all of them dirty, shop staff disinterested on their phones... Can't believe I am writing this in 2021!

United Kingdom | 30 April 2021Not worth a star. Do not buy from these cowboys they need renaming to Shambles Caravans. Bought 30k van off these and had nothing but problems and they don't honour warranties, answer calls or return emails. BE WARNED ⚠️ As for their reply, Demetic have been manufacturing windows for years, problem doesn't lye with windows its obviously a structure fault as there have been over 5 vans on your site all same make Lunar Alaria with windows cracked! As for playing catch up please don't use Covid as a excuse, covid didn't exist when the windows cracked and still shoddy customer service. As I said in my review, AVOID! PS. Amazing how Campbells can reply to reviews yet not emails phone calls etc etc. 🤔

United Kingdom | 29 April 2021Excellent company. Bought a new caravan off them and the service from start to finish was above and beyond. Even now the after sales and service team are great! Highly Recommend

United Kingdom | 07 April 2021Our neighbours bought a brand new Lunar Clubman in 2017 from Campbell’s Caravans which we subsequently bought from them late 2019. With Warranty still valid we completed the exchange of ownership forms with Lunar. When we then heard that Lunar were folding I contacted Campbell’s concerned about the remaining Warranty. I was concerned about us being left with a worthless warranty and even contemplated selling the caravan however They advised me that plans were afoot for Lunar to be taken over but in the event of this not happening they themselves would honor remaining Warranties. As it was, Lunar were taken over but almost immediately that company went down too. Last weekend we noticed water ingress in two areas of our ‘Van and on looking at the Warranty saw that the water ingress cover is for 6 years. Our ‘Van is under 4 years old so today I rang Campbells and was told in no uncertain terms that they would do nothing as we didn’t buy the caravan from them. I explained that we had a transfer of Warranty document in our names and they weren’t interested. The lady I spoke to said I shouldn’t have been told that they would honour our warranty but I was so where does that leave us? High and dry! If we were in the market for a new or second hand caravan then Campbell’s would be the very last place we would go! Shocking customer service and misleading and untrustworthy people to deal with.

United Kingdom | 19 March 2021Just bought our first family caravan and the service was outstanding from start to finish. We looked at quite a few as it was our first family caravan, the sales guys never pushed were around if we needed to ask anything but gave us plenty of space to have a really good look. We bought the 6 berth lunar cosmos and when we went to pick it up wasn’t expecting such a detailed handover explaining how everything worked, showing us the tricks of a seasoned pro which even I could understand. Would recommend campbells to anyone

United Kingdom | 05 March 2021Myself and my partner bought a brand new Coachman Laser from Campbells last year and we are over the moon. Not only was the sale really straightforward and easy - but the after sales have been second to none, they really go the extra mile for us even well after we bought the caravan. We wouldn’t go anywhere else and won’t hesitate to recommend Campbells to everyone we know who considers buying a caravan. Thank you!
