Because this was my first "very considered" designer purchase, it took some deliberation on my part & some communication with the seller through 1stDibs to finally come to a decision & bite the bullet. The seller was wonderful in helping me by offering a small discount on top of the sale price which I gratefully accepted considering the rather high shipping costs as the garment would have to cross multiple thousands of miles to reach my front door. I've no regrets & would highly recommend this seller. They could have declined my inquiry for more help but they came through. I'm very much looking forward into receiving my very first high-end, vintage designer shirt to pair up with my 1980's "New Wave" sports blazers I've collected over the years. Thank you!

Netherlands | 27 October 2024If you like being used and abused as a dealer, that’s your platform! If you like scammy shopping as a buyer, that’s your platform too. Over the years, 1stdibs have acted unethically, making more money off our business that we did, after we stupidly signed their contract that contains ABUSIVE and questionable points. Being overcharged by them for thousands of dollars for sales that never took place was a cherry on top for us to seek a contract termination, that was also pain in one’s sensitive vital organ… HIRE A LAWYER to explain you the terms of their contract and no sane lawyer will tell you it’s ok to sign it. They charge insane monthly subscription fees on top of even more insane commissions while providing NO SUPPORT and conflicting messaging to the dealers. There is a fee and penalty on every turn, and they will MAKE SURE they milk you dry for any mistake, that sometimes you make because they feel like if they have sent you a newsletter that might have gotten into a spam folder - you are aware of all the new rules - hence must be held responsible for obliging. Besides some outstanding dealers that they go ways to hide names of, there are dealers who have NO ITEMS IN THEIR POSSESSION and copy images from other dealers and sell pieces as their own, which was reported AND NEVER ADDRESSED. Unless they get their outrageous commissions, they don’t care about any integrity whatsoever. I genuinely hope this marketplace will go bankrupt sooner or later, it’s the most toxic, vile, SEO monopoly ever. As a buyer, just do a google image search for the piece and get it directly from a small business that is probably now struggling to make ends meet, instead of feeding into this monster which 1stdibs has become. It’s a matter of time before they shut down with all the active payments pending and you will never see your money. Enough to look at all the negative reviews and all the FAKE positive reviews. I wish this information was available online when we were joining them as dealers. A “collaboration” with them is not worth A FEW SALES they bring in. They just don’t generate enough sales to go through all this financial struggle, stress and pain.
