Canada | 18 November 2024SCAM!! Be very careful. There is no customer protection. They are thieves. I bought a $2500 light “scone” and it was used and damaged. They even charged me $150 tax and duty. Only wanted a pair but they charged me a full amount and sent me one damaged and used item. Wrapped in cheap papers. I tried contacting the customer service, but no one is responding. They keep saying our team is working on sending you a label. It’s been a month now and yet I have not received any label to reset the damaged item. Please read. The emails: First of all we were charged much more for one piece, not two. This sconce feels cheap, it’s very light, it is not solid brass! Back plate is not same color as the sconce it’s a different colour. The back plate as you can see doesn’t attach well. The welding is done is terrible. The seller did not try to fix it up at all and it’s very visible. My client is a vintage collector and we know vintage. This piece does not even cost $100. We were charged Custom fees, which is $196.78 (see attached) and this must be returned to us too. The packaging was just paper and nothing else. The piece was not secure which you never do for vintage pieces. It was not wrapped. It was just with a paper in a big box. Me, as an interior designer, very disappointed with this experience. My client requested a full refund for everything as soon as possible. All the videos were uploaded. Please let me know when we are getting the refund. Thank you. Sig in Long Beach California has been a really good seller and communication has been good. I thought the shipping costs were reasonable as I'm used to shipping to my sister in CA. IstDibs also kept in touch re progress of my order as did DHL. Just be aware there will be customs costs to add on to your purchase which I'd totally forgotten about. However customs costs were reasonable as it was an antique watch.

United States | 15 November 20241stDibs shipping service and customer service is pretty awful! Long story short: I ordered a custom bar cart for a client. It took the vendor in LA a little over 2-1/2 months (85 days) to fabricate the cart. It took 1stDibs a little over 3 months (97) days to ship the cart from LA to NYC! On its way to NYC, it made a detour to Brooklyn, where it sat for 21 before being delivered to Manhattan. While 1stDibs and their shipper's (Crated One) customer service teams were polite, they were consistently slow to respond and when they did, were consistently unable to provide much useful information. 1stDibs did refund about half of the shipping fee, which IMHO hardly begins to cover the many hours I struggled to have the shipment completed in a timely manner. 1stDibs site promises 3-8 week delivery times. In this case, the delivery time (almost 14 weeks) was nearly twice the maximum quoted. The web site claims to provide "Exceptional Support...Our dedicated specialists will answer your questions and assist with any order-related needs." and goes on to say "Our best-in-class carrier network provides specialized shipping options worldwide, including custom delivery." If only they lived up to their promises! I have been a designer for nearly 45 years, I cannot recall a worse experience.
