United Kingdom | 25 October 2024I ordered a pair of pearl earrings from a 'platinum seller' on 1stDibs called Luise Gioielli. The seller made a good impression at the beginning and was communicative and reassuring of the quality of the product. I asked if I would receive a certificate of authenticity and they informed me that I would. However when I received the item, the pearls were damaged at the back with heavy pock marks and scratches that were not visible or shown in the photos clearly. The description also stated that the items were in 'perfect' condition. They were definitely not in perfect condition. After raising this with the seller, they informed me that the pictures showed the marks, but it was clear that they didn't show the extent of the damage clearly in the photos. It looked different, even the shape of the pearl was different. The item was definitely not worth what i had paid for it (over 800 dollars). Furthermore, the certificate of authenticity I received was a small round card that had some handwritten notes on the item, which looked rather unprofessional and cheap. After attempting to do a refund and send the item back, the seller told me that 1st Dibs would have to do a review first to allow the refund to be processed, this review process takes 5 business days with the Buyer Protection Team. The seller also informed me that they would be able to refund me but I'd have to pay over 250 Euros for the shipping fee. I am now upset that not only did I receive defective goods. I have to pay for them to be returned as well ( having already paid for the customs). I was planning to use them but now completely am unable to and have to wait for the process to determine whether or not I'm able to receive a refund for defective goods? This was a very upsetting experience and I was planning on purchasing more items on 1stDibs but having many second thoughts on the reputability and integrity of the company and some of the sellers on the site. Do not purchase from 1stDibs if you are serious about product quality and reputability. Update on 31 Oct: I was told that I would hear back from the Buyer Protection Team within 5 business days. I get an email telling me that I am eligible for a refund once the seller accepts it. I'm confused on the process now and 1stDibs is being unhelpful.

United Kingdom | 20 October 2024This is a fraudulent company. They took more than £7000 of my money back in April 24. It’s now mid October and I have nothing to show for it. Complaints get no proper response. AVOID. UPDATE - they told me on Thursday 24th October that I would be fully refunded. They posted a response to my review confirming this action too. However, 8 days later I have still NOT been refunded.

Netherlands | 17 October 2024Horrible dealer experience. Getting answers to questions is insanely difficult, the current support team seems really unprepared to help. We are receiving the wrong amounts, paying commission that we shouldn't have too and nobody gets back to us to even try to solve it. 1stDibs used to really excel at their dealers support, but now it feels like it has been outsourced to an under experienced team. There are no phone numbers anywhere to be found, we used to have a dedicated account manager but this doesn't exist anymore. It's truly ridiculous, our emails are either getting completely ignored, or we are getting answers to questions we did not asked while the real answer is still unclear and problems are not being solved. All in all it's really below par, especially since they have announced that our monthly contribution is being raised. It's insane, there are no other words.
