United States | 06 September 20241stDibs is not a legit website. They participte in deceptive practices. I bid on a no-reserve ring up for auction. I was the only bidder. The seller refused to honor my win and said the ring was "no longer availble". I contacted 1stDibs customer service and received no assistance. The customer service representative said they had "no control over what seller do" You cannot trust 1stDibs or their sellers when purchasing items. BUYER BEWARE!

Even if you start with their "free" subscription, they can unexpectedly raise your monthly fee to $100 without any warning. The commission rates are so high that you'd need to mark up your prices by 400% just to break even. Proceed with caution.

United States | 30 August 2024I was duped by a "vetted seller" into buying a very expensive rare Hermes scarf that looked authentic and when the scarf arrived it had a label that said made in India which was shocking (should say made in France as all Hermes scarves are made in France) and there was some perceptible color bleeding in a section that went over the clear lines and there was some sloppy embroidering on the back side where it should be neat and pristine - I contacted 1st dibs immediately to report the fraud within 6 hours of receipt of the package and although the website promises buyers protection for 7 calendar days, 1st Dibs refused to hold this seller accountable for the obvious fraud and would not process the return after repeated requests by me to process the return and contact the authorities - I have to go to the police now and still working to get their compliance to process the refund for $2500. Which is not trivial a sum to write off as a bad learning experience to never trust 1st Dibs again … i also immediately reported the fraud to my credit card and will never buy from 1st Dibs again - it's not worth the financial risk as they do not honor their buyers protection promise and are rude and willfully unaccountable …the ordeal has been a major time suck and waste of my time … shady company …beware

United Kingdom | 29 August 2024I noticed a reproduction item on 1st Dibs. The seller calls it "Vintage" The item is no more than 5 years old at best and can be bought online from other sources. I mentioned this to 1st Dibs Customer Services. They were not concerned that their site was being used for misrepresentation, otherwise, the item description would have been amended. This is not an isolated case 1st dibs say that they have followed up in this review with their internal "experts" but the reproduction item is still described as "Vintage" 1st Dibs, obviously a platform for some unscrupulous dealers and 1st dibs is not concerned about the vetting of items. I have seen pricey items wrongly described and aged. Obviously to mislead buyers who are under the impression that 1st Dibs is a vetted site with honest dealers. I have been in the Antiques and art business since 1964 P.S. 1st Dibs Customer Services who have responded to this review on 2 occasions keep saying that they have escalated or passed the matter on for review, yet they have "closed the case" and the repro item remains on their selling platform incorrectly/fraudulently described as "Vintage" They are not concerned about the matter and write a response on Trustpilot to give readers the impression that they care about it, but they obviously do not. They have done nothing.

UPS Siegburg bestätigte mir das es da liegt, nicht in DD, weil Händler keine Absenderadresse angab. Nur durch Käuferschutz bekomme ich mein Geld nach Wochen zurück. Ein Geschenk, was nicht pünktlich ankommt braucht man nicht mehr. 1stDibs benötigt für Zustellung fast 2 Monate und noch immer nicht da! Bezahlt Anfang Juli, nun schon fast 2 Monate ohne Ware. Ich rate dringend jedem von Kauf auf der Webseite ab. Ich habe mehrere Lügen-Mails als Beweis! Da PayPal reagierte kann Anwalt seine Arbeit beenden. Er sollte jetzt aktiv werden.
