Canada | 08 June 2024They are okay, but advertising "free" shipping and then charging an ENORMOUS filling fee ($10), is disingenuous. They weren't able to find a generic for a regular medication that every other pharmacy could. Makes me wonder how often they pull this & make more money off the patient. I used them for a couple months and I wasn't satisfied. The wait was mediocre, the service was fine but annoying and they sent far too many messages and "reminders" to refill were intrusive. If you are homebound and absolutely need to order in, go for it, but over-all, you have better value even at an "expensive" pharmacy like Shoppers.

Canada | 05 June 2024EDIT: After this review I was promptly contacted and all the issues have since addressed. Sad that it took a review to get the follow up BUT I am impressed with how quick they have been since and seem sincere in their promise to remediate the situation. I have updated my review since. Hit or miss service. I’m out of a prescription and trying to get more filled. Now out of the woodwork all these issues are preventing me from getting meds. Lack of communication, suddenly having insurance problems. Meanwhile I got a prescription a month ago. Seriously debating switching back to shoppers. Was a pain to go in, but at least it was reliable good service.

Canada | 24 May 2024I will say that the customer service is excellent. But.. big but! Going through Livewell, I was not able to get a price for the prescription in advance order being processed and despite online reference and marketing that they would to be comparable or less, the prescription at Costco is $437 vs $503 at Pocket pills.. for easy reference, 15% more or approximately 800 dollars a year. I will be switching to my local pharmacy immediately upon the completion of this now non-refundable order.

Canada | 01 May 2024My wife had medication for a UTI, everything was fine until they told me it would be a day or two to get the medication delivered. Due to the nature of her illness I requested that they send me the script instead so that I could have it filled sooner. They hung up on me. And then when I called back they wouldn’t discuss the case with me due to “confidentiality.” And when I pressed them they agreed to send my wife’s medication to a pharmacy and actually sent it to the wrong one. If you’re going to cry confidentiality on someone because they’re trying to speed up the process for a loved one then at least adhere to your own stupid rules instead you sent her file info and prescription to the wrong pharmacy. Totally unacceptable and do NOT worry we will never be back. Keep your copy paste response to yourself; I had requested to speak to a manager and they let the phone ring ONCE before hanging up just to make it look like they called. Pathetic business practices, pathetic management and a pathetic slow and outdated service. Never ever again.

Canada | 29 April 2024Great service. Good communication. Makes life simpler and delivers right to my door. If I’m at a different address for a bit, they accommodate and ship where I need it.

Canada | 20 April 2024I loved this service in the beginning. Prompt calls, home delivery. But something has changed for the worst. No home delivery now and using Canada post? Delayed medication delivery time. Not impressed and will be deleting this service

Canada | 18 April 2024UPDATE: Super long rant but hopefully helps someone! After a lukewarm experience with Pocketpills my first month, I decided I’d see how another month would go, hoping the initial issues would be smoothed out. Unfortunately for me, the problems got worse and even a bit deceptive. After ongoing and repeated communication via text explaining my medication had always been 100% covered, I continued to be charged. In fact, I was charged in between refills for medication I didn’t need and couldn’t refill so early (I was refunded in these cases). When I finally was ready and in need of my medication and requested my refill, I was charged again. After calling and speaking with customer service and explaining: this medication has always been covered; my physician and I specifically researched my coverage for this medication before it was prescribed to ensure I could afford it; and finally sending screen shots of the medication in my medical coverage app showing “100% coverage”… I was still told it wasn’t covered but she’d call my provider just to check. I was called back and still told the medication isn’t fully covered AND “oh, btw that other very expensive medication you need that you have had special authority for from your Dr, yeah the special authority just magically expired” so you’ll need to pay for that out of pocket. I’ll be honest, at this point I genuinely thought I had lost the plot and was entirely in the wrong. I’m neurodivergent and suffer from fairly complex mental health challenges so I really began questioning my memory… thankfully I was skeptical enough and decided to actually call my provider to get the information myself. Well, well, well… Yes, my medication is 100% covered. What is not covered and what was never explained or even hinted at was the fact that the charge I was getting for this medication is Pocketpills pharmacy premium dispensing fees. It wasn’t outlined on any receipt I could find either. See, I am no pharmacist, and I’ll assume anyone reading this probably isn’t either. I’ve had medications with Walmart, shoppers, London drugs, and even a family owned mom and pop place. Never has medication been one price here and a different price there. It just is what it is. So while totally legal to charge more, it’s not the norm (at least in my experience). The worst part is, had Pocketpills just been forthcoming about this added cost from the beginning, I wouldn’t have cared. I’m happy to pay for the convenience of not having to stand in line under fluorescent lights in Walmart. What I dislike immensely is the unnecessary waste of my time with texts, calls, and emails trying to figure this out and believing I had made a mistake. And the disappointment in realizing this attempt to simplify my routine was a fail. I also learned that I did and still do have a special authority for my other medication and it does not have an expiration date of any kind. And after finding this all out today, I decided to wait to receive my current order of meds and PROMPTLY take myself back to Walmart (also known as my personal hell) and have my medication dispensed there. Any pharmacy willing to mislead a customer over the cost of life saving medication in order to not simply admit their hidden or inflated fees is potentially one capable of doing a lot worse. Any pharmacy willing to see a customers special authority medication coverage for hundreds of dollars randomly vanish and just shrug without any effort to figure out why, really doesn’t care. My anger and frustration here is truly less about me but more so about the vulnerable people who maybe can’t or aren’t able to ask questions and do their own follow up. I have an elderly person in my life with severe COPD and a modest income — extra charges or misplaced coverage could literally be the difference between paying to breathe with meds or buying food. Oh, and the cherry on top? Even though the exact same medication was delivered to me last month and left at my door, I now have to be at home to sign for the package between 9am and 1pm tomorrow. Guess who’s missing an entire day of pay and losing hundreds more dollars on a medication that’s… 100% covered. Yay!

Canada | 16 April 2024To begin with, the delivery process through FedEx has been consistently unreliable. Despite assurances of timely delivery, my orders have often arrived days later than promised, causing inconvenience and disruption to my medication schedule. This lack of punctuality is unacceptable, especially considering the critical nature of the medications being delivered. Furthermore, I was alarmed to discover that my medications were left unattended on the shelf, possibly for an extended period. The negligent handling of medications, particularly those requiring refrigeration, poses serious health risks. Inexcusably, my medication requiring refrigeration was left at room temperature due to the fridge time being left on the shelf. This oversight compromises the integrity and effectiveness of the medication and could potentially jeopardize my health. Upon contacting Pocket Pills staff to address this issue, I was met with a dismissive response. Instead of taking responsibility and offering a solution, I was simply told, "Too bad, we are not going to replace it." This callous attitude towards customer concerns is deeply troubling and reflects a lack of regard for the well-being of individuals relying on your service for essential healthcare needs. In addition to the mishandling of medications, the customer support provided by Pocket Pills has been grossly inadequate. Responses to inquiries have been slow, and resolutions offered have been unsatisfactory. It is deeply disappointing to encounter such a lack of responsiveness and accountability when dealing with matters as crucial as healthcare.

Canada | 01 April 2024Worst experience ever. Got dose wrong from doctor and I was short medication for a week. Took me many, many texts to get them to send the correct prescription and they still say they sent the correct one. Extremely frustrating to deal with. Will not use again.

Canada | 30 March 2024This pharmacy is the absolute worst to deal with. When I originally signed up with Pocketpills I was told it would be next day delivery. 3 days later my prescription hasn’t even been looked at. Then when I call I’m told my insurance said they wouldn’t cover the drugs and was told to talk with my nurse about an alternative. So I did that and she was about to send in my new prescription. Then they send a text message that my prescription is covered. Ok great so I should receive it the next day right? Nope! Now they have to order the drugs from somewhere else and this is going to take another week and a half! Also they charged my card 3 times for the prescription! And they have changed the qty the nurse had on my prescription so I will now run out before I get my next appointment and prescription. No matter how many times you think things will be fixed they manage to come up with a new way to screw up. It’s absolutely amazing how horrible this place is. Also I originally posted a review, they basically called and bribed me into removing or changing the review for a gift card. Gift card isn’t going to do me any good if I’m dead because I haven’t had my medication. Seriously avoid this place if you can!

Canada | 26 March 2024If I could rate a 0 I would The fist time I used them I had issues and posted a negative review. A manager called and asked I remove my post in exchange for an Amazon gift card….. Now a few years later I get a text message saying my prescription was being filled… I texted back and was told what it was… then I decided to call and was told that someone had the same first name and dob as me and there was a mistake and someone else’s was added to my chart. I asked that a manager call me as I was worried about a data leak involving my health information and was told that there are checks and balances in place and that they caught the mistake. I assured him it was me who caught the misstate as I had to call to sort this out. He advises it was a tech issue and also one human error and it will be addressed. I have had 2 interactions work this company (one not even one initiated by me) and both times there was concerns

Canada | 27 February 2024I had a lot of confidence in this pharmacy initially, and have used them for several years. However recent changes to pricing practices and policies have led me to choose a local pharmacy instead. 1. Price Fixing - this organization engages in price fixing with partner health providers such as LiveWell. They charge MORE for prescriptions from Livewell based on their partnership to cover "Services". However, Livewell already charges a fee for services, so this indicates they are getting a kickback. 2. Delivery - I've had numerous challenges with delivery from this pharmacy. Almost all local pharmacies also deliver - and in many cases faster than PocketPills will. 3. Preferred Pricing Program - They select which drugs and healthcare vendors these programs apply to. It's an internal policy and they just decided to exclude licensed healthcare providers from certain health vendors from this program. It seems like they discriminate against licensed healthcare providers internally for preferred pricing programs. 4. They used to provide some convenience around prescription refills and connecting me with a physician for refills of regular drugs - until they forget, don't remind you, or don't delivery associated refills on time. 5. Pricing - This pharmacy has some of the highest dispensing fees and drug costs I have seen. A quick call to a local pharmacy will confirm this is the case.

Canada | 17 February 2024Stick with a regular pharmacy. They boast about how you won’t have to wait in line to get your meds, but with a regular pharmacy at least you can usually pick it up same day. It’s literally *three business days* since I have created my order and it’s not even shipped yet! They are so unbelievably slow that this is not at all more convenient than a regular pharmacy. Unacceptable delay in providing important medications to people.

Canada | 15 February 2024UPDATE FEB 15 2024 After sending video and camera log, and warning them of potential complaint to the College, pocketpills sent replacement order February 14 2024 which was received without issues. The original order was never receivewd and remains (Not Delivered). Because Pocketpills did deliver the replacement shipment, and have delivered medication ontime more than 50 times without problems and they have delivered rush shipments without problems ontime I am increasing the rating to a 4 star. ----------------------------------------------------------- MEDICATION ORDER NEVER RECEIVED. Charged for medication never delivered. Pocketpills has deliverwed to me over 50 times with no issiues using Flashbox Yesterday Feb 13 2024 they used a different delivery not flashbox. No tracking number, no delivery, no package nothing. Today they sent me fake picture from a previous delivery claiming it was deliverred yesterday at 9:10pm I have a secuirty camera with motion sensors in the peephole inside my door which records everyone who comes to my door. I sent them the security camera log which shows nobody came at 9:10pm, onlyu neighbour walking by 9:12pm. I sent them the video of my neighbour and told them they charged me for medication not delivered which is fraud. Spoke to supervisor BRIANNA who said she will reolve it . Nothing so far Under Drug and Pharmacies Regulation Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. H.4 on the College of Pharmacists Ontario website it states the following: .. "The pharmacy is responsible for the security of the medication and personal health information until it is received by the patient or their agent. Signature by the patient or agent upon receipt is required unless there is a valid reason for not signing Signatures may be obtained in pen-and-ink or electronically Arrangements should be made prior to delivering to ensure patient or agent will be available to accept and sign for the delivery Documentation of the circumstances leading to delivery without a signature is mandatory Patient’s agent Specified in advance by the patient to accept and sign for their prescriptions Delivery person cannot be the patient’s agent as they are the agent for the pharmacy If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the pharmacy is responsible for the ongoing auditability, traceability, integrity, and security of the medication until the delivery is successful or is returned to the pharmacy."

Canada | 18 January 2024A Total Rip Off Save your money and do it yourself. They completely overcharge for finasteride and minoxidil. I was getting charged $137 CAD for a 3 month supply of finasteride (1 mg), and my local Shoppers Drug Mart is able to sell me a 3 month supply of finasteride (5 mg, so I'll be using a pill cutter), for $27 CAD. Same thing for Minoxidil, you can get Rogaine Foam on Amazon for way cheaper or even drive to the United States and get Kirkland Minoxidil from Costco. Seriously, it's not worth the money buying from they. "Free Fast Delivery" is a scam, they're just adding the charge to the medications. Don't pay for an online consultation for the prescriptions, go to your local walk-in clinic, get a free prescription, and go to your local pharmacy and watch the savings roll in.

Canada | 30 December 2023What happened: I had arranged with work to be at home for the 12-8pm delivery window. Medication was not delivered within the 8 hour (!) delivery window. There was no communication from Pocketpills or courier about the failed delivery. I spent 15 minutes on hold with Pocketpills the next morning to follow up the failed delivery. Alternative delivery was arranged for between 4-5pm that day. A courier rang me at 3pm, asking me to sign. I told them they were earlier than communicated and I was not available to sign. I told them to come back at 4pm as planned. They said they would call me back to confirm. No call. Pocketpills is now closed, and I cannot call them. I wait 2 days. Via text, I get another 12pm-8pm delivery window for a third delivery attempt. I cannot be at home for this span of time. I ask for a tighter timeframe in order to make it work. This was not accommodated. In the end, it is 1 week later and I have to I drive to the distribution centre to pick up the medication in person. I also paid 25% more than a traditional pharmacy for this privilege. To promote this as "same day service" is a bit misleading. Summary: A bad experience. A promising concept that is, unfortunately, poorly executed. There is a disconnect between the Pocketpills office and their third party courier, resulting in unreliable delivery and poor communication. Recommendation: not worth the cost premium for the inconvenience. Stick with a traditional pharmacy unless you can be at home for long periods for multiple days.
