I started the process with them in June. Five months later, after much frustration and a very poor record for return calls, my closing was set for November 13th. November 12th, at 8 PM the night before, with no warning or explanation, they increased their origination fee and lowered my loan amount effectively destroying the financial goals I set for doing the refinance with them in the first place. I went through with the closing through sheer inertia, something they clearly were gambling I would do. It took me 48 hours to cancel and rescind the closing. This has been a toxic experience.

Took over 4 months to close...asked me for 16 different documents. Multiple times for some of the documents. Then after closing they needed more documentation. every excuse was its federal law. Never use them again...

Tim Allred was my guy through the whole process he made things easy and quick and closed my refinance within 2 1/2 months. WHAT KIND OF FREAKING COMPANY IS THIS ??? Started the refi process in July. Constantly told everything looks good and it should all be done soon. Needless to say it is now the middle of Nov and still I keep getting it should be soon. I wrote a similar review about the poor service and suddenly I get not only a call but an email wanting to help. Didn't they talk to the agents handling the process ?? Again told that they would see what they could do to resolve this but everything they saw looked good. But that there were 400 loans in process. My question is Did they all apply in July ?? Why are they putting others before my paperwork ?? Since that NEW reach out by them I have emailed them at least 3 times but it seems that they only respond to bad review. My refi is not that complicated income will easily cover the new mortgage payment.(even more so with paying off some of the debt with the proceeds from the refi) I'm not even asking for the loan to cover the entire new house value. Due to covid bills have mounted and demands for payment are getting heated. They no longer believe me that I am even trying to get the money to pay them and who can blame them since this has been going on since July. Suddenly I get a call from an agent questioning a document that was given to them back in August. WHAT KIND OF FREAKING COMPANY IS THIS ??? I would certainly think twice before using this company if the everyday Joe is treated this way.

My representative was Suzanne Dew and she was very helpful and patient with me. Her responses were thorough and timely and she made the process, which I know can be difficult, very easy.

I called to inquire about refinancing our mortgage. Spoke with Suzanne Dew who was very helpful. Within minutes she was able to give me an approximate quote. She called me back the next day with a more firm quote and we started the process. The process was very easy and done entirely online, with the exception of closing which was done at our dining room table. We were able to drop our interest rate by about 2.5 points. We are very happy with our experience with American Financing and would definitely recommend them.

I will say I was skeptical about American Financing after hearing all the radio adds, but I took a shot. I'm really glad I did. My advisor Justin White was helpful and not at all pushy. He was patient through all of my questions and provided me a few options, with pros and cons, to choose from. I changed jobs mid-refinance, but it didn't phase anyone and they told me the new time line and what I needed. Justin's communication was great and he kept me informed the whole way. Would definitely use them again.
