Great for licensed UAS pilots.

I do not use Drone Base as my primary source of income. I use it as a part time job. Using Drone Base at first was not very promising. I found that it took a while for my first mission. The second mission came later and then the third. I feel this is a way for you to prove yourself with Drone Base. I have been with Drone Base a little over a year and have completed 24 missions. As time went on more and more missions came. The missions pay are based on the job. I have made a little as $35 and as much as $375 on a mission. If you do the extra training provided by Drone Base you will be eligible for more missions. Keep in mind that Missions are based on location, how far you are willing to drive, what equipment you have and training. My average payout is $60 for a 15 minute mission. The only down side to Drone Base is the lack of consistent work and uploading of the mapping missions. I understand that uploading 2500+ images that are equivalent to 17GB takes a while but when the uploading server limits the upload speed to no more than 2.3Mbps it is going to take awhile (even though my network averages 13Mbps). On average it will take 4-6 hours to upload. I will say that these missions have great payout and I will continue to do these mission even with the slow upload speed. My final comment is that I love flying my drone and why not get paid to do something you love.

The app needs more vigorous updating to adapt with the new drones and to overcome allot of misleading bugs. Not many available missions.

Excellent! DroneBase provides useful training sessions for each mission and clearly explains the requirements for each shot. The interface for uploading the assets (videos and photos) is intuitive and easy-to-use. Finally, once the job is submitted, the folks at DroneBase review your mission promptly and send out a payout notification within a few minutes.

My experience has been great working for DroneBase. The only thing I could wish for if there were more frequent missions with better pay. Other then that. I’m having a great time. Thank you. Rob J

Super fast and reasonable price with great results

Sends missions as they become available. Interactions with the Operations team are helpful, with quick, helpful responses. Straight forward uploads and payment is quick turnaround.

I'm disappointed in the communication of the support staff after the job when you have a question. They answer quickly until you do the job and turn in your material but once you do, don't expect a response from them. I've sent two emails asking about a job that is supposed to be monthly with no response in over a week. In other words, you're an integral piece of the puzzle until they don't need you anymore. Review update 12.26.18 After posting this review, I did get a response from DroneBase and, after forwarding my emails to Aileen at DroneBase (who contacted me), was prompt in answering my questions to my satisfaction. I do believe in DroneBase and take on their contract work as part of my regular business that I have. They are professionals in what they do. I'm still not sure why the previous emails did not get responded to after a few attempts but, hopefully, this review has done both the community as well as DroneBase a service by pointing out what minor issues are wrong with the process.

Pilot was great, the footage is fine but it took a month due to issues with the horizon and footage contrast... Really made a bit of a mockery out of me as an agent who was touting this service highly and set back my listing launch an inexcusable amount of time. The issues we encountered, in my opinion, were forseeable by the service and should have been mitigated from the start. I don’t like being critical but this request for review kept emailing me so I gave my feedback. I’ll use the service again but with tempered expectations.

Staff is excellent at responding to inquiries and issues about the mission. Things to improve: 1. There should always be a client P.O.C. for the pilot. Even if that person is not on site, the pilot should know that someone involved with the property knows and can vouch for the pilot on site. 2. To save time on getting a missions accepted, the offered payout should automatically adjust for compensation of distance to travel to mission.

Dronebase is a great service that continues to improve. I'm coming up on 100 missions under my belt, and from my experience- I can tell you that they're an extremely great outfit to work with. I deal with a half dozen different drone pilot groups/companies, and Dronebase by far provides an easier and more complete system to work with. The most important improvement/ item that DB has over the others is that it has really come to where there is an excellent team behind it for those occasion that you need on-site support (or really support on anything DB). It is a difficult thing because these jobs are sub-sub-sub contracted so it is a relief that DB has staff that will get back to you in real time when there are any questions about a property. Te only thing keeping them from the 5 star is the rates are at times a little low for some things. Other than that - DB gets an excellent in my book..
