Now l like a good moan but unfortunately you had exactly what l wanted in stock and at a better price than elsewhere, then you made the checkout process so simple even l could do it, then you had the audacity to pack it well and get it delivered promptly! You have left me with no where to go and nothing to moan about. Worse still, it was such a good experience l will be back for more.

United Kingdom | 15 June 2020Mann's have asked me to submit a review to Trustpilot – I can't understand why? The LagP98E, was received in sub-standard condition. Superficially beautiful, it sounded very good. Close inspection revealed two major flaws: I HAVE COPIES OF ALL EMAILS AND PHOTOS – AS DO MANN'S. 1.The nut -deeply grooved, roughly cut, excess material attached. Cuts not parallel, to fret board! High E, almost touching first fret – any setup would need new nut! 2. Neck “binding” - a dark brown wood-stain line (~ 0.5cm deep), follows the neck, just below fretboard continuing into the headstock –as one line. Perfect on High E side of neck. On Low E side, wood-stain had run out part way – line fades & breaks-up and is very feint, approaching headstock. No continuity, into headstock, where the line IS then continuous, as it should be. VERY obvious in the photos and on the guitar! My email, photos attached, elicited the inexplicable comment, from Phil: “if it’s just the quality is not up to what you expected than (sic) that is unfortunately the danger of buying online and not trying an instrument in person. ” ??? Phil – Be Aware! A “Lockdown” is in place and Mann's are, actively promoting online sales! I infer, then, thatTHIS guitar, had been rejected by people who have “tried in person”? He stated: “I have looked at the photos and I can’t see any issue with the wood staining and actually think it looks quite desirable”. Phil considers UNFINISHED wood staining “quite desirable”? Each to their own! This NEW guitar – is not meant to be a “new-relic”! I rejected this. In his next email he,TWICE, excused the faults by using the phrase “at this price-point”. How much do Mann's suggest spending, to receive a guitar without, blatantly obvious,Q.C. issues? Why so defensive of this, clearly, B-Grade guitar? Was the dreadfully botched nut, somebody's attempt, “in-shop”, to reduce string height at the first few frets? Cutting grooves,is NOT how to do it! Mann's initially resistant to refund delivery, despite having sent a sub-Std. item. I objected. They finally conceded - with such bad grace and in such a patronising manner, that I am now suspicious about the “good” reviews? Will THIS review survive scrutiny prior to posting online? Final email from Jake: “I was pleasantly surprised by how well the guitar played out the box, especially for an instrument of this value it’s not something I would consider needing a setup” So – again PRICE! “Surprised”, how well it played! Is there a Mann's cut-off price dictating, whether a guitar is good or bad – irrespective of it's actual build quality? ALL of the “Big Name” makers, have suffered quality control problems over the years! Now Lag? Every player (I've been playing for over 50 years) knows how they like a guitar to feel, - so to comment about it “not needing a setup” reveals Jake's inexperience. (New to guitar sales?) Inexperience shows again, further on:“I was struggling to find any faults whatsoever...” Jake! See the photos, look at the guitar – if you REALLY, can't see the faults,take some pointers, from a luthier! The wood-staining issue is disappointing and the botched nut is shoddy. He then patronised me: ” I would classify your return as an unwanted item” - UNTRUE! I did want it, I bought it.* I did not expect to receive a guitar IN THAT CONDITION. You added, you “would usually deduct the return postage from your refund. That being said, having read your messages I don’t want to run the risk of leaving you dissatisfied with the service you have received” Sarcasm is not to your credit! Mann's failure to accept the problems, repeated rebuttal of my comments and inability to accept what the photographs and guitar show - that leave me enormously Dissatisfied! Your customer service, has been appalling! *It may interest Jake,to know - subsequently purchased, online, replacement Lag Parlour guitar. It's build quality and finish -perfect and it plays beautifully – EVEN AT THIS PRICE-POINT.
