My father introduced me to Balani Custom Clothiers in the early '90s, long before they had storefronts. Every transaction has resulted in excellent fitted clothes that last. Expensive up front, but well worth the investment. I've worked recently with Cordt WIthum in the Chicago storefront, and can say that he has been a pleasure to work with, and has an excellent eye for what works.

I was a little skeptical about having an out of town custom clothing company take care of my needs, however I have been very pleased with my experience at Balani. Dave Tinter, out of the Cleveland location, has done an exceptional job working with me ( I live in Buffalo, NY) from my first meeting with him through a number of custom orders since. The Balani "process" is pretty impressive from the initial fitting , which is quite extensive , to the details that are made available with most of their offerings. If you are serious about your clothing, you owe it to yourself to try Balani.

Clothes done to your specifications.

I've ordered numerous suits, blazers, slacks, shirts and overcoats and all have been outstanding fit and quality. So much so that I recently had my executive team measured for suits as an extra incentive reward.

There is no other place for custom clothing. I cannot go to a store to buy anything other than jeans and t-shirts! #thecustomlife

Everything at Balani is about the customer. The employees go out of their way to make you feel at home and are always looking to make you as happy as possible. They listen to what you want/need, but have a great wealth of experience they draw upon to help input their sense of style and fashion in today's trends. I would recommend Balani to anyone who is looking for custom fit clothing. As a 6'6" man, it is near impossible to find good fitting clothes and they surpassed my every expectation.

Those close and sales person were awesome however when i spend thousands i expect my clothes to fit like a glove . That wasnt the case the seamster couldnt get it right 2xs is too many ! I had to scale my orders back due to that fact. Thanks

I tested Balani as well as a competitor around getting some shirts made as a first step towards going full on custom. Initial measure experience was good and when the shirts arrived the materials are really high-quality. The problem is that the original order didn't meet my expectations around fit. The armholes were a little too high and the fit across the back was a little too tight. That could be easily remedied. The problem is that they ordered all five shirts instead of testing one shirt and then replicating. So now I have five shirts that I don't really like that I spent a lot of money for because they are "custom." They tried to modify had but clearly they weren't going to trash them in order five new ones for me. Mistake. Now when I look at them in the closet I pass them over for other options because I know that they're not my best fitting shirts. My recommendation is not to let them order more than one shirt for you initially and make sure that it's perfect before they make the rest of your order. The competitor that I referenced did exactly that and that's where I buy my shirts from. If you do that, all the options and materials are very good quality though. That said the whole marketing around custom clothing is that it's an experience and this was a bad experience for me.

Worst service ever for a client who has been loyal. When the sales person flat out says that he doesn't want my business because I am trying to get the order right, you know it's time to go. Owner is even worse for sticking to the sales rep rather than siding with the customer

The clothes are, of course, top of the line. But it is the customer service that differentiates for me. Anticipating needs and understanding style preferences. Balani makes it easy to look great.
