Cruise America representatives were all very helpful. As a novice camper we made several calls during the planning process and were always impressed with the service provided.

The city for pick up had moved and apparently the 800 number is not updated. Wasn't terrible only 12 miles further yet accuracy is important. What really messed this whole rental was the fact that after a full detailed run through the next day we unfortunately had to find out the generator had no, ran out of oil, so must of been low. Because we are in eDC campground so they won't come in with roadside and we now do not have the comfort of camping in a. Functional RV, we have a hot box. With no power. Truly with the heat of Vegas is simply a waste of money to now be utterly disappointed. I specifically rented this as my daughters 21st birthday gift. Not cool.

My husband and I have never rented an RV before. We wanted to test one out to see if we enjoyed driving and riding in it and if our dogs liked it. This was a test run. We looked at ones in Arkansas but the fees to rent were very high. Cruise America had a rental place in Dallas and it did not state there were any fees. We drove 5 hours to Carrolton, Texas and after my husband signed the contract we found out there were fees if we did not clean the RV to their satisfaction, fill the propane tank (we didn't know where to go to fill it) and a fee to dumb the RV. This amounted to over $200 in extra fees. I was really upset about these fees since the main reason we drove 5 hours with dogs was to avoid the fees. The man at the Carrolton dealership showed my husband how to hook up the electric, water and sewer. No mention was made of hot water. When we set up, I realized there was no step to go in the front door. We had to pick our dogs up so they could get in. There was also no awning, no tv and no oven. It was basically a tent with AC. The AC was so loud that we could not hear each other talk. The toilet was built on a step that required you to be 8 feet tall or hunch your legs up to do your business. After a long day all I wanted to do was take a hot shower. NO HOT WATER. When we reported this, they still charged us for filling the propane because we used the refrigerator. That cost us $50 plus tax. The beds were very uncomfortable. Needless to say we left the next day because we did not like RVing in this unit. Our dogs were not fans either. We will never use this company again and highly recommend you ask questions up front about fees. We paid over $650.00 for a rental that we thought would cost about $400. ADDITIONAL RESPONSE PER THE RESPONSE THEY LEFT BELOW. On Monday May 13, 2024 when we arrived at Carrolton, Texas, to pick up the RV - I called Cruise America main number. I was put on hold several times and no one could help me. they said they could not find our reservation. That was interesting since the people at Carrolton were able to pull it up. I talked to someone in reservations and she said she could only make me a reservation. Then I talked to someone on Roadside assist and was disconnected. I called back and was disconnected again. Then I finally got another person - a male and by this time I was pretty upset. He told me to quit yelling at him and he hung up the phone. I wrote a review on the site the day we were coming home with all these issues. So don't say we didn't try to contact you. It was a nightmare and no one would help We paid over $600 for a one night stay in an RV that had no hot water and the beds were terrible.

Jalen was just so friendly and helpful on the phone with me. I wish everyone sounded like him over the phone! He made my day. Haven't experienced the RV yet, but I feel he deserves a shout-out

Brian Chmielowski has been so helpful. I tried to rent an RV but the preferred location ran out of RV. Brian found one for me at a next closest location and got us a discount also. The whole process was so quick and simple. This is our first time renting with Cruise America. We'll sure to give Brian a call next time as well.

We had a horrible experience with Cruise Canada in the last few days. My family came from abroad to spend a week traveling with me and my wife across the Canadian Rockies. To start, we opted to get an RV from Cruise Canada because of the mileage allowance, which is based on miles on their website instead of KMs. To my surprise, after the entire checkout process, the confirmation email came with the same amount of distance allowance in KMs instead of MILES, which made a significant cost difference in my trip. Just because of that, I would opt to rent from CanaDream. However, that isn't the main reason for this bad review. Our RV was infested with mice. In the first 48 hours after the rental, we heard mouse noises during the night and we noticed some of the food we bought had mouse traces on it. After throwing part of our food away and buying some mouse traps, we caught five mice in the first 24 hours. The mice had access to the silverware drawers, which made it even more disgusting. After trying to call assistance and email customer relations, with little success, I spoke to the branch manager. He told us mice are quite common in RVs and insinuated that we got them from a campground. The thing is, we spent 6 nights in 5 different campgrounds and we caught most of the mice in the first two days. He offered me a 100 CAD compensation and waiving some of the small fees. However, as I was leaving the office, I spotted a mouse trap close to his desk – talk about irony.

2 thumbs up for Derek! Super helpful. Looked at other RV rental companies, and this by far was the most value and the easiest to understand and book.

Two breakdowns in two days and the vehicle still had serious issues. The vehicle air conditioner stopped working on the way home from picking it up. The call center was difficult to deal with, after several hours of finding a shop and getting it repaired most of my first day was lost. Left the next morning, after getting on the interstate the vehicle handled terrible, a stop and check of front end showed inner part of front tires worn (cords showing), very dangerous. Spent 7 hours beside interstate getting tires. All of my second day was lost. Turned around and went home. I would never drive this on a long trip, I want to continue living, the front end needs work! I rarely complain about products or do reviews. I am hoping for a full refund. Most of the time I had it I was waiting on repairs, I don't think I should pay them rent to get their repairs done.------Update 6/11/24. The company has offered a refund that amounts to about 4 days credit on a 13 day lease. I opened a case with the dispute department of my credit card when I learned the RV was unsafe and I was returning it. Cruise America would not talk to me while this was open. I closed the dispute and then Cruise America made me this offer. If you have problems and your credit card company does disputes you may want to use it. The offer from Cruise America is not good. If I take the offer it will be the worst consumer transaction I have done in my life of 59 years.

DO NOT RENT RV's FROM Cruise America! We ended up loosing around 8.000$ on absolutely nothing. Their customer support sucks and they are NO help at all. Had the worst start on a 3 week trip to US. No one takes responsibility for anything. We ended up spending hours and hours calling them with no useful results. Do yourself a favor and find another place to rent an RV from. We ended up finding another company which was way more proffesionel, even though we ended up loosing and spending more money. But the RV simply wasn't safe to drive in, and the people from Cruise America surely didn't want to take responsibility for any of it. They probably end up answering this review, and point out how sorry they are for their low quality of service, the fact is just that we as customers can't use their sorries for anything. We really hope that this review will help others to not waste their money on Cruise America.
