obvisiously with the covid situation my appointment for surgery did seem like a long time to wait as my eye sight was worsening but this was understandable as im sure with every surgery correct procedures and safety for patients and staff needed to be put in place .on the day of my surgery extra care like hand sanatising masks and temperature checks were all in place felt safe and protected surgery went well staff were great under the circumstances

I was very pleased with the efficiency and expertise of Mr Quah. I was thoroughly assessed and we had a discussion about all the options. In fact, Mr Quah's advice was that the planned surgery was not something I should do at this stage but it's much better to be told that than to regret doing it later! I would be happy to come back to Mr Quah when I need anything further.

The assessment, pre-care, surgery, and post-care were all excellent, especially given the complexity of my prescription. Be prepared for a wait on your days of surgery depending on where you are on the list. Mr Quah explains everything clearly and has a sense of humour to go with his expertise which makes the whole thing more pleasant than anticipated.

I had cataract surgery in 2019 and follow up to correct a mistiness in the vision (a complication I had been warned about) this year. Both were efficient and painless and I now have the best vision I have had since a teenager!

I wore glasses for short-sightedness after I was no longer able to use contact lenses due to dry eyes. I chose The Eye Correction Centre because Mr Goel had corrected my mother’s vision and she held the team in high regard. After an initial consultation I had tests to see if I was suitable for treatment, and my options explained. I felt no pressure to proceed. I opted for LASIK (both eyes at the same time under local anaesthetic using drops). Treatment was carried out in Hull which is just 45 mins journey from home so I could travel back the same evening (I have two young children so this was very important to me). There were no delays, and no rearranging of any of the scheduled appointments. The procedure itself was completely painless, although I did feel rather queasy after the flaps were created. Despite it being expected, it was still rather unnerving for my sight to disappear completely, albeit briefly. We took a short break until I felt ready to continue and even despite this I was in the room for less than 30 minutes. The blurred vision lasted until the following evening. I did feel a little nauseous for the first 24 hours or so and needed help to administer the drops. I was able to drive/work etc within a few days. I am now 2 weeks post surgery and I am delighted with the results. My vision is excellent, both short and long distance. I can read unaided and count tiles on roofs which are in the next street! There are so many things to look forward to now that I previously avoided, like taking the children swimming; things I took for granted before my sight deteriorated. Overall I had a very positive experience and I would highly recommend.

I contacted Mr Goel after suffering many months of eye discomfort and having spoken to my Doctor, and the NHS Eye Hospital on several occasions, but not receiving any treatment at all. After a consultation and a relevant test, Mr Goel performed surgery on my eyes. Despite being told that it may be a while before this procedure would be effective, I am pleased to say that both eyes were performing as they should almost immediately. I am so pleased that I took this step when I did and thank Mr Goel for his care.

Mr Goel performed a very fast and efficient operation with no pain on both eyes with truly amazing results. St. Hughes Hospital had very safe practises during this Covid 19 pandemic.

Mr Quah was my consultant when I had both lenses replaced. He was very professional during consultations and explained everything about the operation. During surgery he met me and explained every stage, checking I was ok and understood what was happening. Mr Quah also explained how I would feel post op and provided me with information regarding possible after effects. Follow up consultation was very thorough. Eye tests carried out and Mr Quah told me what to expect and gave me advice regarding future eye tests. He also told me to contact him if I had any problems.
