The cataract replacement operation went very smoothly and was entirely successful. There were no problems on the medical side. Hence the 5 stars. Organisationally the whole procedure was delayed by over an hour. I was asked to arrive by 4pm, which I did, and the first operation (not myself) did not start until about 5:45. No reason was provided for the delay.

NO WORRIES MR.Say Aun Quah and his colleagues were very professional throughout both times when I saw them at the Regency Hospital Macclesfield for cataracts on both eyes. My right eye was done first and as the procedure had been explained to me beforehand there was nothing to worry me, so when my left eye was done I was not bothered at all and everything has been successful. I was referred to Mr Goel after five months of pain suffering from damage to my cornea, caused by a virus. Initially treated at DPOW the problem returned shortly after being discharged. I took the decision to make an appointment to see Mr Goel privately rather than go through the whole referral process again. From my first appointment Mr Goel set a treatment plan, starting with anti virals and antibiotics and booked me in to have a procedure which scraps the cornea to allow undamaged cornea to grow back. The whole procedure was professional and I felt very well cared for. After several review appointments I am delighted with the result. The terrible pain I suffered before having the procedure has now gone and I feel that I can get on with my normal life! Mr Goel was highly recommended to me and I can highly recommend him to anyone after my experience.

I am 52 years old and had severe myopia and astigmatism in both eyes . I had worn contact lenses since age 9 but over recent years neither these nor glasses were able to give me clear vision. I saw Mr Quah at the Wilmslow HCA UK hospital on the 12/11/20.The hospital Covid precautions were first class. I have been treated by Mr Quah since 2015 having had my cataracts removed and lenses replaced by him two years ago.Mr Quah puts me at ease, displays an air of competence and instills confidence.He is very thorough and is prepared to take the time to go through and explain issues.He has a very good manner and all in all I would describe the consultations and treatments as excellent.

I am a professional racing driver and was diagnosed with Keratoconus in 2019. I first realised I had it when I couldn’t see at night in a night race with headlights behind me as I was literally being blinded by the rear view mirrors (this had never been a problem) and noticed a change in “ghosting” in my eyes, I was missing turns and just didn’t feel as good as I was. I went to my optician and got directly referred to Dr Say Quah. Dr Say Quah single handedly saved my career as if I had gone another route with my treatment and/or had someone that didn’t act quickly enough, my eyesight would have fallen far below what is required in order to fight for world championships in motorsport. Dr Say Quah monitored the progression of my disease over 6 months and then realised that I was getting far worse in a very short period of time. He acted quickly and effectively and performed Corneal Cross Linking. Now here is the best part... Corneal cross linking is only meant to halt Keratoconus and not cure it, but Dr Say Quah performed the surgery so well that my left eye (the one most effected) improved from nearly -2.00 to -1.00 and the shape of my eye is not far from back to normal. It’s been a year since the treatment and I have check ups with Dr Say Quah who has now confirmed my eyes are better than when I first arrived to his office. An absolute miracle in my opinion and I cannot thank him and his team enough as it’s literally changed my life.

Mr Goel has made my journey through cataract surgery run very smoothly. From initial consultation, where all my questions were answered honestly and clearly. Mr Goel instilled confidence that the procedure would be successful. On the day of my surgery, Mr Goel guided me through the surgery, giving direction when needed. Again, the post operative consultation was thorough. The outcome of my surgery has surpassed my expectations. The best way I can describe the outcome is by using the brilliant white paint analogy. Over time the brilliant white paint turns to cream/yellow. My new left lens gives me the brilliant white paint vision, whereas my aging right lens gives the cream/yellow paint vision.
