United Kingdom | 24 October 2023I've used Capital Repairs every time I've had issues with domestic appliances and have yet to be disappointed by the extent of their knowledge, their catalogue of appliances and spare parts, or their willingness to offer advice rather than insisting on a service visit for matters I could probably solve myself. Most recently, I called them out when my washing machine (bought from them about 10 years ago) started making a loud hammering sound at the end of the wash cycle. Repair would have been possible, but the engineer pointed out that, given the nature of the problem, the cost of spares + labour, for a machine already 10 years old, would be better put toward a new, more efficient machine. I was able to order a replacement from their stock, which was delivered and installed within a couple of working days, with disposal of the old machine included in the cost. Their tenacity and quick thinking in the face of my awkwardly-fitted kitchen was much appreciated. Finding that the attachment for use with liquid detergents was not included (the instructions indicate it has to be ordered specially for that model, even though the manufacturer include it as standard with others), I popped in the following day to enquire and try to get the part ordered. In the meantime, they were able to offer valuable advice on how best to use liquid detergents, even without the attachment.

United Kingdom | 19 October 2023I was well informed of appointment time and ETA. Dan explained what he would be doing and why. He was careful to take care of flooring when pulling out the oven. He was thorough and very courteous, a pleasure to deal with. As was the lady making the appointment over the phone. Excellent service all round.

United Kingdom | 16 October 2023Zulfi was amazing - he quickly identified the part 1 needed for my oven and arranged for the part to be ordered - I asked for a first call and he came very early. Overall very impressed with the service - would definitely use again. Stephanie

United Kingdom | 05 October 2023My oven broke down again less than a year later, but this time l was smarter. I had a friend take a look first before any £100 call out to Capital Repairs, it turned out that the fuse had burned out. ( Changed by CR 04/22 ) Phew so it was replaced for zero cost by a friend who repairs his own oven. My advice to anyone is to check the manufacturer first and if the appliance is over 5 years old BUY A NEW APPLIANCE! Mrs Darko

United Kingdom | 02 October 2023My Smeg fridge was producing excess water and I was concerned it was due to the age of the fridge. Zulfi diagnosed the problem instantly and rectified the issue. He was very knowledgeable and gave me lots of advice. I was reassured to know if the problem returns within 3 months I wouldn’t need to pay a second call out - it will be covered. Excellent service!

United Kingdom | 02 October 2023Failed to diagnose fault and therefore unable to repair> Couldn't tell me any more than a quick read of the machine's manual had already provided but still charged full service amount. Had it repaired a week later by the manufacturer's service engineer who diagnosed and repaired fault in 30 minutes. Should have waited for an appointment with them.

United Kingdom | 01 October 2023Worst customer experience as they only great at giving false promises and very rude with no sense of customer service. Would avoid using them

United Kingdom | 25 September 2023Just saw this and many other poor reviews on Google. I've used this company before and to say they were appalling doesn't even scratch the service. Check their bad reviews on Google - this one being the latest; "Capital Repairs what a rip off of a company, I worked for this company for 5 years and was a long 5 years of abuse and blackmails to complete all of the jobs, impossible routes to achieve and very long hours. The engineers never got any training as the owner never wanted to pull people of the road to train. We used to get told to call the office or Google the fault in case we didnt know or we were not sure. When I used to find small faults that required a very cheap part, I was asked by the management to bodge it as it was not cost effective to go back a second time, so the job had to be completed on first visit. Old parts were also fitted in place of new ones specially on the refrigeration side with compressors that he refurbished. I left for many reasons, I didn't agree with things they did , I found out that engineers got paid diferente and was nothing to do with experience , as some were getting paid more with less experience and the main reason was I was better working for myself.I wouldn't trust this company at all, they rip people off and when they take your money they never give it back. Even the way they deal with bad reviews tells you that they treat you as a number and not as a individual customer, they answer the same to everyone, on a basis of copy and paste. I give this company a 0 star review and advise you to stay away. And by the way they get friends, family and workers to give them reviews" I'm sure they will reply to this review with their standard copy / paste reply how they're concerned after reading the review. There are genuine hardworking tradespeople out there trying to earn a living and there are cowboy outfits like Capital Repairs

United Kingdom | 21 September 2023What can I say, I have been using Capital for many years now in both my own home and my tenanted properties and the service is always second to none. On the latest occasion, one of my tenant's fridge freezer's broke down so I called Capital and spoke to Lisa who was really helpful and booked a repair visit the same day! On arrival the engineer Jason (02J) found that the thermostat had corroded and failed. He actually had the part needed on his van so repaired it there and then. That's what I call great service!! I would recommend Capital Repairs to anyone without hesitation.

United Kingdom | 16 September 2023All customer service people have been very friendly and helpful but the actual service has been truly terrible. We paid for 6 new parts in June, after various engineers not turning up or the company sending an engineer that could not deal with gas. 3 months later an engineer supposedly fixed it only for the oven to not work two weeks later. I would never use this company again. Apparently it’s all down to the company being taken over but it has been an extremely frustrating and long journey.

United Kingdom | 11 September 2023I am a landlord and used CR to fix an issue with an oven. Post visit there was no proactive communication, with no email or report sent after visit. When I finally got through to someone they were incredibly rude - abrupt and short-tempered with one-word, vague answers to reasonable questions. There was no mention or solution of the original fault, only recommendations for additional parts to be ordered. Really poor experience.

United Kingdom | 06 September 2023Repair under warranty on behalf of wine fridge supplier was done with forensic efficiency. Stuart the engineer was on time, knowledgeble and brought the correct parts at short notice. He was extremely professional and is a credit to your company The service centre organised everything and kept me informed at all times. This really should be the benchmark for all other Customer Service operations. Thanks and well done.

United Kingdom | 31 August 2023Terrible customer service. Engineer identified the part that was broken and said they would order. That was one month ago and I have heard nothing from the company despite ringing many times. The employees at the end of the phone say they will ring back with an update and never do. I have been without a dryer for a month now and have no idea whether the company even cares about the customer relationship. Will never use again.

United Kingdom | 24 August 2023First called out to fix my cooker end of May. Ordered the parts and have since had delay after delay and 3 scheduled appointments cancelled on the day due to them not having the parts, even though they told me each time the day before they did have them. Had to re order parts and today when the engineer turned up - guess what - wrong part. Engineer managed to twist something on the door mechanism to get it back working - but its not a proper fix. Almost 3 months without a working cooker. Communication between customer service and sales non existent. No continuity of care or acknowledgement of delay. Management don't seem to care (no communication, no calls, no apologies) and the customer service staff and engineers have to deal with the consequences. Constant blaming of 'change of system'. Absolute debacle - avoid. Wonder when I'll get a refund?

United Kingdom | 31 July 2023I had to call out Capital Repairs as they were 'recommended' by the manufacturer of the appliance that had failed. They duly turned up and 'assessed' that the two wine coolers needed re-gassing and condensors fitting, (even though the engineer did not even access the rear of the appliance). This could not be done at the time as you have to have a call-out to 'assess' the problem. They charged me £108 for the assessment and they said they would follow-up with an emailed quotation for the parts. This was sent to an incorrectly taken email address, so a few weeks passed before we followed up, and then had the quotation re-sent correctly. I then called to book in the work as I had already committed to £108. I was then informed by a very brusque Capital Repairs employee that I would need to pay a further £108 assessment fee, plus the £250.37 for the repair items (re-gas). I explained that there was a mistake in the email that caused a delay, but they totally refused to waiver the second assessment fee. My opinion of Capital Repairs is that their 'customer service' requires a lot of work. Their communication needs to be improved and that they should be far more proffessional in their approach to fault diagnosis, and not look to make money out of their own failings.

United Kingdom | 31 July 2023Very disappointing service! Booked an engineer to come and fix our fridge/freezer but after paying for the needed part I was told that they needed to take the appliance to their workshop instead of repairing it my property. Since this would cause another delay to already long 3 weeks I have waited pointlessly I decided to cancel the repair and requested a refund. I have called them twice so far to chase it up and even though I always spoke to someone pleasant in their call centre I'm still waiting to be refunded (since April and it's nearly August now!!).

United Kingdom | 27 July 2023Capital Repairs has apparently recently changed hands. Engineer from before sale of business came out but couldn't do anything as cooker hood boxed in. Was called up to pay for the call out and although reluctant to pay I was assured that an engineer would visit again once I had arranged for the boxing to be taken down (confirmed in text). Tenant did not want to give access as was not bothered and asked that it be done when she moved out. Now that I need the work done Capital Repairs are telling me that there is only 3 month warranty on labour so would I like to open a new repair job (for full cost). After pushing back Capital Repairs told me they will come out again if I paid another £30 plus VAT - clearly I'm not happy with this. I have asked them to open an investigation as no time limit was given to me when I paid intially. Really not surprised by the number of negative reviews. I have suggested to Elica (who I got Capital Repair's details from) that they no longer add them to their approved service provider list.

Sweden | 20 July 2023Capital repairs could not complete job, they realized this AFTER suggesting I order a part for my cooker costing £182. On the visit when the installation on the cooker part were to take place, the engineer told me a panel had to be moved from behind the cooker before he could make the replacement. This would obviously cost X amount and cause a lot of stress, so I declined and asked for a refund. I was offered 50% of the cost of the part. If the first Capital Repairs employee would have informed me that the panel needed removing, I would not have ordered this expensive part. It is also fair to say, that even if he is not a qualified gas engineer (which was Capital Repairs argument) he surely should be aware of this panel issue - as the second engineer pointed out - this problem is fairly common. I contacted Trading Standards, who confirmed there is a breach of the Consumer Act 2015, I informed Capital Repairs who just didn't care at all. So thats my experience of this company - safe to say I will stay away from them.
