Great knife sharpening lesson from Maulik. Having someone give feedback while you're sharpening really helps improve technique. I went from a completely dull and chipped knife to a razor sharp edge.

I have 3 Japanese knives that needed sharpening, one of which was also chipped. After watching a few YouTube videos I decided to leave the task to a professional and contacted Manan at the Baker Street branch. He did a fantastic job. The chip has been ground away and all 3 knives are super sharp. Glad I didn’t try to sharpen myself as could not have done as great a job.

The products they have are of the best quality unfortunately, this last time I visited one of the stores, I was accused of taking a can opener, when I had just entered the store and I was always in front of the cash register and with 3 people from the staff . One of them who had less vision approached me and accused me of having taken a can opener as I mentioned, in a very direct way and confirming that I had done it when the reality was different, I had a can opener in my backpack that I brought. to see if I could change color, the person who sold me the can opener was there and was able to confirm my purchase in the past, on the other hand there was not even a hint of regret or any apology from the guy who was accusing me,I was very Angry to be honest… but I was able to stay calm and focus on the person who was kindly assisting me, without a doubt they should be more tactful when approaching people to make these types of accusations.

Quality of service has dropped ridiculously. Used the company since moving to London as a chef 10 years ago. Always used them for a tune up on sharpening and new knives. But I’m not sure what’s happened. Has the company grown to much and can’t hand sharpen the knives anymore. The knives were sharp initially, but after a bunch of chives, dull. It’s like they have been ran through a grinder and not sharpened. Many of the chefs I speak to feel the same about JKC now. Since branching out into homeware goods.
