I recently attended the whetstone sharpening class at the Japanese Knife Company in Soho, London, and it was an outstanding experience. As a professional chef, I rely on high-quality knives daily, and this class took my understanding of knife maintenance to another level. Maulik, our trainer, was exceptional—his deep knowledge of blade construction and his step-by-step approach to sharpening made the process both effective and efficient. He explained not just the technique but also the why behind it, which gave me a much better appreciation for my knives. This class was a Christmas gift from my wife, and I can honestly say it was one of the best gifts I’ve ever received. If you own a high-quality Japanese knife, I highly recommend attending one of these classes. It will completely change the way you understand, care for, and sharpen your blades.

The product, a Three Wheel Water Sharpener (M152) was exactly as described and does an excellent job. Regretfully, the Japanese Knife Company initially sent me an incorrect knife sharpener (a cheaper model from the same range), but I found them easy to contact concerning the error. They readily accepted that they had made a mistake, apologised, and agreed to send out the replacement/correct sharpener without any hassle. Despite the initial mistake, I found the Japanese Knife Company to be easy to deal with; after all, all organisations make mistakes, and it is not the fact that a company makes a mistake, but how the company deals with its errors that define it. The acceptance of fault, the return of the incorrect item and the sending of the correct item was dealt with promptly and courteously. Satisfied customer.

I have been a regular customer of the Soho store for seven years now. What I like most is the consistency and quality that you offer. As Malik and I like to say, every knife has its successor, a certain person with the right knife. You have a history and you put a lot of effort into making customers happy. Personally, when I bring my knives in for maintenance, the Soho team always greets me in a unique way, no matter who is on shift. The care you take and the quality you have for me personally are the best in the country. I personally highly recommend your company because other friends of mine who have shopped at your company are also very satisfied, yes the prices may be high, but if a person is looking for and wants quality, you are the right people. Very pleased with the service and the product

I love my knife set! The blades are superb and the handles - I chose Western style - are well constructed. Nice, weighty items and super sharp. Came in a presentation box. I look forward to using these for many years. If I have any criticism, it would be that the extensive instructions on the blade covers are not in English for our British Market, but my trusty smart phone translated for me!

I bought a knife on the 15th of december it was yasuo black 210 gyuto when it came on the 22nd of december it was the incorrect knife and it was 10 more expensive the one i bought to the one i got i completely understand during christmas times coz its so busy and everyone makes mistakes im so greatful for the great customer service we ended up doing an exchange im so thankful and would highly recommend it wont be the last time i buy for them because i understand everyone makes mistakes but these are some of the best kitchen utensils and knives in the uk
