I had a great experience buying a santoku knife from the Baker Street store. I felt a little overwhelmed at the number of options to choose from but Mayumi spotted that I needed help and very kindly walked me through all the different types. She was very knowledgable and told me about the blacksmiths and areas in Japan that they source them from. Thanks to Mayumi, I was able to pick the perfect gift for my relative's birthday and they loved it. The company even offered an engraving service on the knife too. I would definitely recommend a visit if you are interested in buying a Japanese knife.

Great company. Lots of choice, very fast despatch and well packed. I have ordered 4 knives so far - when one turned out to be out of stock, they rang me on a Saturday to let me know and choose a refund or an alternative. Couldn't be better service 1st sharpening is free too !!!

Darshan has provided 5+ service over several days and I haven't even bought a knife yet. In the process he has educated me about my chopping/slicing style, the benefits of different weight distributions in the knife given large hands and years using heavy German knives, introduced me to sharpening, and patiently shown me countless knives. Along the way, he has been personable and humorous, so the process has been unhurried and fun. I know so much more about what I'm looking for because of him and I know I'll make a better choice because of our time together.
