United Kingdom | 06 July 2024Don’t pay a year in advance because refunds on the remaining time are ‘apparently’ impossible. Get notifications by post because vulnerable people don’t check each automatic bank transaction and can end up paying for years without noticing. Don’t allow automatic payments because they’ll just keep on taking the money. If you get “a person I’m not allowed to name” on the customer service line, just hang up and try to get someone else or you’ll end up getting shirty. My in-laws had to engage a live-in carer and ended up putting their Careline pendants in a drawer where they stayed for years. (They didn’t work in some parts of the house anyway.) My mother-in-law came across the pendants last week and called Careline to cancel them. She thought she had cancelled them. I called Careline to check it had been cancelled correctly and to ask for a refund for the remaining six months. They had been taking the money each year for a year in advance without a written notification being sent to my in-laws. The third person I spoke to was apparently the right person but was the rude one, and unhelpful, and I ended up losing my cool and being rude back to her when she asked me for the nth time if I wanted to cancel. From then on it was downhill, I’m afraid.

United Kingdom | 05 July 2024Answering on behalf of my Mum - Careline setup was easy and straightforward, staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. We tested the system earlier than intended, Mum had a fall on Wednesday after we had set the system up on Monday. It worked well and Mum had paramedics there to help her within the hour - not the test we would have preferred, but thanks to all for the immediate response.

United Kingdom | 04 July 2024I spent a fair amount of time reviewing different products for my mother and settled on Careline365. Delivery was the next day, and everything was set up and working within hours, including a test call. I must say that the people they use on the other end of the call (through the device) have obviously been picked for their clear voice and calm manner, and although I didn't think of this when looking for a device, it really should be part of their marketing as hearing is not always the best at that age and having someone who speaks perfectly is a real plus point.

United Kingdom | 27 June 2024Not satisfied at all with this product. We purchased with the fall detection and GPS specifically as our 91 year old mother had numerous falls. The website states: "Fall Detection Includes: The Careline GPS Pendant Fall Alarm contains a sensor that detects when you have fallen. After a fall, it will trigger an automatic call to our Emergency Care Team*, getting you help fast." THIS IS NOT CORRECT. Our mother fell and the alarm did not trigger, it was sheer luck someone called in to check on her about 30 minutes after her fall. The alarm had not triggered. When I called to find out why I was told it only triggers if the user does not move for 90 seconds... in other words if they are unconscious or worse. Our mom had fallen, was in pain and confused. She was not in a state to even think she had to press the pendant. This is not stated anywhere on the website and we purchased for this reason. If a user is confused, has dementia or badly injured enough not to press the pendant they are on their own! Very poor service.
