United Kingdom | 07 January 2025Had a completely unwanted cold caller at my door with a lanyard from Money Expert claiming that people in the area were being "overcharged" for their energy usage. This is atrocious behaviour. If people are on a more expensive tariff, that is one thing, but to claim that lots of people in the are are being "overcharged", as opposed to simply "paying more than they need to" is completely misleading, and implies some sort of malfeasance on the part of the energy companies. I refuse to deal with any of these cold callers about anything. To me it smacks of some sort of desperation that any company feels they need to go round the streets knocking on people's doors to try to drum up business, and makes me totally unlikely to ever use them. I had never heard of these people before, and will now never use them for anything. There are other, in my opinion more trustworthy, comparison companies out there who don't use cold calling tactics.
