Safeguard Self Storage is the best facility in this area. I have used them twice when moving and downsizing. Their facility is spotless and is the first reason I chose them. I drove up and down Rt 22 and visited every storage facility from Union, NJ down to Greenbrook, NJ before choosing where to store my possessions. Safeguard is the best, hands down, and the property manager Cesar is the star of the show. He is always polite, friendly, and professional. He knows how to get things done in a worry-free manner. This is also a great location because it's well-lit and I always felt safe going there, even at night. I would and already have recommended this facility to all and I would use them again for sure!

They have RATS and you will find rat droppings in your belongings. 0 out of 10. Would not recommend. This place is dirty and infested with rats. Imagine my disgust when I started unpacking my things and found rat poop in it. To be paying almost $300 a month to store my things there and to have rats using my storage unit as their personal PORTA POTTY is disgustingly unacceptable. I dont even want the stuff I kept in that unit because the thought of rats running around in it and using it as a toilet has me thinking about all the bacteria and germs that are on everything. So between trashing the things I kept in the unit plus paying almost $300 monthly for several months I’ve wasted so much money. Money just down the drain. Also I found it unprofessional and weird that the manager was trying to force me to leave a good review on the spot. As Im trying to deal with the paperwork he was more focused on forcing me to take a pic of the qr code and pressuring me to specifically leave a 4 or 5 star review. He wanted me to do it right then and there and kept demanding that I leave a good review. It got so weird that I had to ask him if it was mandatory. By his response it seems like they do this with all the customers So Im definitely questioning and side eyeing all the positive 4 or 5 star reviews because they pretty much demand and force you to do it. There are a few other storage places in the area, try those instead. After all the rat droppings, inconvenience, stress and extra money and expenses this company caused me I am not pleased or happy. Get an exterminator!!!

Terry Johnson is a superior employee, who made moving items from a big unit to a smaller one, and items to my home a smooth, easier experience. He also helped the Hunks by orienting them. Terry has quite effectively run the entire store singlehandedly at times. Most importantly, he has expained all matters well and has facilitated the online transactions and paperwork. Polite, friendly, and hardworking, Terry is an exemplary Supervisor that earns the Safeguard Rhawn Street store the five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !

I have been using storage companies for the last 15 years. This is the 3rd company I have used. I initially had my stuff with another company and they were ok but office was never consistently open during business hours as listed and even with an employee living on property they acted as though any question or issue was a hige inconvenience to them. The second place seemed ok at first but the company sold out to another company and changed names and all employees not a huge deal but after 13 years of my rental amount going up every year and the damage to the stuff I was storing (water, mold, insect damage) I finally left when Safeguard opened a facility on the next corner from the other storage company. The employee who gave me a tour was super helpful and I was able to get a unit that day and started moving my stuff that day. I love the security of the building. The key for for entry onto the property, into the building and even to get to the floor your unit is on is awesome. It's good to know that only people with u it's on your same floor can get to the floor and not people with units on other floors. The carts to move the stuff from your vehicle to your unit is super helpful especially if you have heavy items or a lot items. I'm disabled so it's extra helpful for me. Even the water fountain on the first floor with the bottle filler is cool, the water is super cold. The management and employees so far seem to care about your experience and go out of their way to help.

Just signed up middle of last month. When I did, the lady at the counter asked me if I selected the 50% off two months of 20% off 6 months offer, then when I said i was unaware of them and asked about it she said “never mind”. Ok just take away my offers then? Fast forward to today, I’ve been out of the country working and had problems creating an account on the payment portal overseas. It’s the 6th, back stateside and get in. I’m never late, this is my literal first month at your storage. I don’t know the payment portal process yet. A fine for ~$70 after 5 days? That’s a bit much but I can maybe understand. But overlocking you out at 5 days? Especially in a new account? That’s just weird and predatory. Definitely made me see that this is not a understanding or friendly place to store. Will be most likely moving out of this unit at months end

The units, the building, public bathroom and office carries a spirit of excellence. Very clean, really nice units, and some good discounts when first rent a unit, customer service is phenomenal.

I was fortunate to have Safeguard down the street from my previous home and the transition was hard for me after 50 years of living in one spot. But Alex and the manager made me feel welcome and always say thank you for my patronage.
