Our experience with Darrell Collins and Probate matters at Shepton Mallett in the past year has been very good and I would recommend them. Unfortunately service from the Conveyancing team in the Bristol office was poor .There was an undue delay with very little information on progress. Messages were left (which were noted as received by the Bridgwater office ) asking for a response many times. Admittedly one of the people dealing with the matter was off sick but we did not know this until several weeks later having been chasing them for information on progress.

We were recommended Lyons Bowe by our estate agent and I'm so delighted we went with them. They have been selling our house and the purchase of our new home. We have been so impressed with all the updates and contact we have recieved at every step of the way. I particularly liked having their app, which means you can see at every stage how things are progressing. We felt really supported in the whole process and nothing was too much trouble. We then had Ella for exchange and completion, she always answered questions quickly, sorted our exchange to fit our ideal deadline and was very helpful with any queries. She is professional, caring, thorough, efficient, knowledgeable and wise. Gave me a quote, when I tried to take next steps the agent starting bringing up hidden fees, blaming a 'website mistake' and upped the quote by more than 25%. Very disappointing and I did not proceed. Customer service when I raised this was very blunt.

This was the worst experience we have had selling a property. We have sold a few with other estate agents. We were passed over to every department through the sell, which I do understand. It would have been nice to have one main contact. We were told that there would be continuity if any staff member was sick or holiday, this was not the case. The process stopped and was picked up when staff member back. They must have a lot of graduates coming through, which I do understand they need to learn, the issue was it seemed we had a fresh graduate at every stage so with there lack of experience this really slowed the process down. We originally had a previous buyer for our property, which we eventually pulled out off, We presumed it was the buyer dragging his feet. After going through the agonizing process again with next buyer, we soon realized it was the solicitors. I honestly say it was a stressful experience and one I would not want anyone to go through, also with the drawn out process, we lost literally thousands of pounds and with 3 young kids, that’s not great. I am a person who always sees the good in people and situations. I am not pinpointing one person, it was there whole business setup and ethos, very disappointed. In this situation I would not recommend them at all. Stay well away.

Absolutely fantastic experience! My house purchase could not have gone smoother, thanks to them (and the seller's solicitor who also seems to have been very responsive). I had heard horror stories from other first time buyers who kept having to chase their solicitors, but Lyons Bowe have been the complete opposite. They were very communicative and the app made it clear what was going on, which eased my anxiety. Pretty much everything was done online and that was perfect for me. I was thoroughly impressed by their service and would highly recommend them to anyone!

I instructed Lyons Bowe on my house purchase earlier this year. From initial instruction to completion the team were fantastic. They combined cutting edge use of technology with a people centered approach brilliantly well. I could always use the app to see where the transaction had got to but there was also always someone to speak to if I wanted more detail or come extra reassurance. We've had an excellent experience with Lyons Bowe from start to finish. As first time buyers with limited budgets we wanted to choose a solicitor that was going to guide us through the process and make our lives easier. The combination of their working structure, meaning there was always someone to step in to help who knew our case, and their superb app meant that we were always in the loop, rarely had to chase anything and were able to keep on top of things in a stress free way. Of course we had some bumps in the road caused by terrible solicitors up the chain but Neel, Sam and co were brilliant, doing their best to keep us updated and pushing things to get Convey Law to act in a proper way and not just block completion for no good reason. We're really grateful for all the support they've given us and will absolutely be using them again for any future sales or purchases.

Did a fair job. I had to keep reminding them that the elderly gentleman client didn't have email and needed written letters, and they charged for reading the reminders! After giving the 'final' bill they sent another one, a year later when an audit found they had missed nearly £1,000 in costs. Maybe they need a better bookkeeper. Overall a reasonable service, knowledgeable, but expensive and a bit lacking in professionalism.
